when working with mainboards you can have two solutions to prevent esd damage. either wear gloves and wear natural fiber clothes to prevent yourself from discharging on them or wear an esd wrist strap or better a leg strap to have free hands. second method is what they use in factories and it is mandatory for all workers, including esd safe hand gloves made of conductive fibers and also an esd safe mat which is connected to ground. but the simplest way is a hand esd wrist strap connected to ground. I went overkill and got a whole factory esd protection set :)))
