Usually, the reason behind why these older Nokia phones don’t charge with BL-5CB batteries is because there’s a double resistor inside the phone that not only analyzes what type of battery is installed, it helps the phone to connect to the PC for formatting and installing new software onto these phones. When that resistor analyzes what type of battery is being used, it either allows it to accept charge or doesn’t. Sometimes when that resistor breaks and stops working that phone won’t boot properly. It would say “Test mode” or “local mode” the phone thinks it’s connected to a PC but it’s not Even if it’s a BL-5C battery (original or not). it’s best to remove that resistor all together to prevent any of this from happening again in the future.
I'm glad to see there are still people making instructions for repairing and keeping alive such unique and ancient devices as the Nokia 6630. Nonetheless, it was very entertaining to watch. Great job!
My bad, I meant i’ve seen it most with Series 40 DCT4 phones haha, i completely forgot that even early versions of S60 were based on BB5. Thank you for the info :)
I Decided To Buy A Nokia Smartphone When I heard an English song in this mobile omg it was so amazing, but lack of online shopping that time went to nokia 6681..i couldn't find it in any offline store near my area
i have this model, which is a model with arabic letters on its keypad, has alot of cosmetic problems but it fully works, good part is the design around the camera is clean, ever the rubber layer is on there. Having problems charging it though, as the cable cant fit in the phone for some reason, which makes it only charge for a short time before it loops.

Yes, bl-5cb doesn't work on pre 2010 phones. Always get the regular bl-5c
