  • PASSAGEN is a film developed by Max von Gumppenberg, made in close collaboration with the Berlin knitwear pioneer, Claudia Skoda - who was featured in 032c Issue #38.
    Act 1: Dialogues
The two women at the table engage in a dialogue based on interviews about the emotional value of clothing. Author Anne Waak asked three people of different ages and genders- a woman interested in fashion, a man who has owned a Claudia Skoda sweater for many years, and Claudia Skoda herself - about the memories and feelings they associate with their wardrobe, as well as their personal tastes.
    Act 2: Veruschka - 1979
A dress that Skoda designed in 1979, previously worn by supermodel Veruschka von Lehndorff, has been reproduced and worn by Vici, a dancer for the Vienna State Ballet.
    Act 3: Berlin after dark
Paolina wanders through the streets of Berlin at night in two dresses by Skoda, who shares some of her own thoughts as narration.
A film by Max von Gummpenberg.
Passagen was made as part of the exhibition "Claudia Skoda: Dressed to Thrill," which was on view at Kulturforum from April 13th, 2021 to August 29th, 2021.
