"Thinking your mind was my own in a dream what would you wonder and how would it seem" -- hard to believe it's been 50 years ❤
Yeah,,,50 years. I cannot believe it either.
Her street
And it still moves me lol
If I was a junkman, selling you cars, washing your windows and shining your stars....one of my favourite lyrics.
But what does it mean and why is it your favorite?
To me ist meens trying to be everything for Someone… Selling Cars, Washing windows, even shining their Stars for them. But at the same Time not getting this back from the other… just being a ”junkman“
@@Joseph-qe7mtagreed. I love the lyric too. It also nakes me think about how the people who make the world go round (essential workers, like grocery store employees, mechanics, cleaners, etc.) usually don't get adequately compensated. They're all still just junkmen.
Play this at my funeral please.
Teenager in the 70s, Southern California. Great time for being young and listening to this.
I miss the 70s it was a unique time. I graduated 79. I remember some great times. Neil was putting his heart into the best music; it was unique and defined an era. There was stupid songs like Disco duck, loving you, and others. Yet, there was greatness too that came out of the 60s and 70s. I was too young in the 60s but in the 80s I made it my mission to listen to a lot of 60s music. It was unique too a lot of music experimentation. Music like this fills and inspires our souls... I still listen to this, but I do listen to music of today too. Some of the newer music does start to sound a like but not 60s and 70s. They etched a new pattern and I cherish their extraordinary innovative vision and rare distinctive styles!!! PS - I am also from Southern California! Grew up in Hollywood, San Fernando valley, and Simi valley California..
I hear ya, it was a wonderful time to be young!!
Wow..must have been magic 🌞🍻🇮🇪
@@rupowell2821 Bonsoir. Année 1972 , " magic " ?!
Same in France, happy past but now we crossed the lines of age
that solo woke me up to Neil's brilliance

My favorite song from Harvest! I love your waltzes. Thanks Neil !!
💯 💯 💯 💯 💯
not exactly a waltz... it is in 11/8
@@brianwolle2509 sometimes it is, then occasionally 2 bars of 3/4 and one 2/4. Must have been a nightmare to work out
The steel pedal is my favorite on this track. Haunting…
The guitar solo is a wonder. Don’t miss the full version on the Journey Through The Past album ;-)
So many wonderful memories surround me when I listen to this incredible album.
Simply amazing and hilarious vocal take footage of Stills Nash and Young in Harvest Time! If u love Neil u really gotta check it out!! 🔆🍁
Yeah that footage brought a few laughs in the cinema in Glasgow last night.
Harvest Time was incredible to watch!
@@yibuseato checking it out in a few days.. can't wait!!
Definitely my favorite scenes, with CSN. Particularly with Graham and Stephen. My buddy who accompanied me, doesn't know one thing about Neil however, he was impressed as Neil, Graham and Stephen all were playing around on Keyboards in the same room!!
Hello Neil Young this song WORDS is a masterpiece! Thanks for the music!
When I was young, how many trips did I travel with my mind, I let myself be carried away by this melody, sweet, wonderful voice, sentimental, sad, Neil Young with Harvest will never die, after 50 years I always listen to vinyl harvest and above all words.❤☮🌈🙏🌏🌍🌎
I played this record constantly in the 70’s. I just couldn’t get enough of it.
Love the piano simple melody and the cool guitar solo!
the drummer on this is superb !!!! as are all the instruments.....takes me somewhere i cant explain
Another classic.
Love this song live, he goes on and on with the solos
How does this not have a billion views?
Just a matter of time....
Excelente álbum del folk gringo, el mejor si no me equivoco y gracias a mi primo Cacho lo conocí allá en los setentas.
Like democracy, words often fail us, but they are the only things that work well at times. All these decades later Neil Young's music has stood the test of time.
What democracy used to stand for.
For sure. I never tire of listening to his music!
Because he's a genius 🤗
I agree mate!
Great lyrics
So beautiful it makes me want to cry
Keep them coming Neil!
NEIL YOUNG WAS AN INCREDIBLE GENIUS!

1976 j avais 14 ans j en ai 60. Mon éducateur n écoutait que ça.Super Neil Young.🌛
Bonsoir. Et puis, dit-il ?!. Vous avez raison, cela nous rappelle.
As a teenager trying to play drums along with this, the weird time signature/changes really threw me. I eventually figured it out.
yes! 11/8!
It’s bars of 6/8, 5/8 alternating throughout the intro (11/8). The verse is 4/4. So tastefully played by the GREAT JIM KELNER !!!!
Remember him playing this for 20 minutes at the end of the Silver and Gold tour.
Πάντα κλαίω...
Wow. Bacwards and forwards, Rice and Beans. Thanks
The only song I can’t hear once!!! Endless replay ❤ my youth in France in the 70s with an old garrard turntable. Merci Stéphane!
Amazing
Ajatonta!! Ja hieno kitarasoolo❤
The best eletric guitar solo of ever
Check out Mick Taylor with the Stones, at the end of a song called, Time Waits for No One. Great jam.
Magnifique, toujours...(la petite alex)

Lately so obsessed with this song.
Why do you think that is 🤔❓ look with in your self it can be the Answer to your life's Question 🙃⏳❓our it could just be a flashback from the old Dazeeee 😂👍🖖
In my top 10 favorite songs of all time
Love ❤️🧡🎶🎸
capolavoro assoluto
Cryptic lyrics. Love it. Also love Neil's guitar tone. Gretch driven really hard?
As lead guitarists, Neil Young and David Gilmore are akin in their melodies.
So many great lyrics…. Ol man take a look at my life… his life was filled with parasites and countless idol threats…it doesn’t mean that much to me to mean that much to you, ….blue moon sinking from the weight of the load… red means run son, numbers add up to nothing…paddles cut the waters…. Neil Young’s body of work is no less than Dylan. And after all, there’s Dylan n Hendrix… everybody else just trying to get there….Neil Young did it.
Blue blue windows behind the stars
A long strange trip indeed….
👌👍

😂 I hate his political views but I love the music. Thank you neil!
Never managed to understand what he meant in this song, and always been frustrated by this.. eventhough I 'm able to translate it in French ( what I am ) , I 'm not sure I get all the metaphors he uses.. and first, the title itself.. words.. between the lines of age.. isn't very clear to me , despite its apparent simplicity !
if some good soul could lighten my darkness..😅
I think this song can be interpreted many ways, however the heart feels at the time❤
Privelege, slavery, tables turned, history repeats. One of his best pieces ❤
@@scrambler6281 Yes probably..
It aint all that clear to us native speakers anyway… whats our excuse😅. The way i see it is the first verse uses vague non-descript language while the second verse is more descriptive despite the subject matter being relatively the same. Perhaps the solo represents the passage of time between different eras, yet the same struggles. Idk im not a particular smart person, nor old enough to have grown up understanding the zeitgeist of the 60s/70s
@@lsuperior Thanks for trying ! Yes, I guess it's very elliptic and mysterious..
