  • So I ordered a replacement park, and it didn’t work so I figured I would take the pieces from one and fix the other. Unfortunately this did not work so will have to wait for a replacement to arrive. This is for a 2013 Volkswagen Passat SEL premium Clockspring

Did you manage to sort it out eventually? I have the same issue even though I coded the new steering wheel module...

@@JH-sc7cs I didn’t finish the job, but it would have worked if I had the ability to program it. Car was totaled :(

@@RealityUniverseok I'm about to buy the Chinese kit code has CN instead of DE. My understanding Valeo have a massive role in supplying the China market by manufacturing locally. I did read these clock springs will always need to carry over coding from the factory one, so guessing this was your problem all along, and the reason why it didn't work when you swapped the ribbon over to your factory unit is because you had fault codes stored from the broken ribbon.

Where the ribbon connector pushes down into the unit it is soldered into the PCB board in the back of the unit

The ribbon disconnects from the board, and I had put it back in correctly. I tried a few times just to make sure it wasn’t a bad connection.

I’m still working on it I have a friend that’s gonna come over with the computer and try and code it to the car. I’ll let you know if that works, it will be a video.

@@raulalarcon570 you will need to program it to your car, with a good computer or at the dealer. You must get the number out of the one you have in the car first before you change it

I have been waiting for months on VW to fix mine, which is under warranty. Dealership said clockspring on backorder with no ETA.
Will never buy a VW again.

I didn’t get the traction control light to go off yet. My friend who owns this car got rear ended and it’s in the shop.
