Man, what a great video. I am 57 years old and have only been doing leather craft for 5 months. I haven't tried a belt yet, but this video has given me the bug. Thank you sir!
This just popped up. The belt I'm wearing is of harness leather that I made 10 years ago when I was doing a lot of harness work. You are right, it will last a lifetime.
I bought a similar weight “tool” belt to wear on top of my FF bunker suit to carry a rescue tool. Shortly after I got it, new regulations didn’t allow that so I added holes and started using it as my work belt. That was 24 years ago. I grew into it and still use it to this day. Can’t be quality-built stuff.
Tom Anderson for something so seemingly simple, belts builds are FULL of all sorts of leather crafting techniques. They can be as complicated or as simple as you’d like them too be.
Oh wow! I had no idea we had a tannery up here in town!! Thanks for the heads up!! And awesome work sir!! I just started leather working so I am all ears!! Thanks for sharing yalls trade!!!
🇪🇦 FROM SPAIN. VERY GOOD WORK. BUT I ALREADY TELL YOU, YOU HAVE TOOLS THAT WE CAN'T FIND IN THE MARKET, LIKE THOSE GOOD ACRYLIC BELT POINT MOLDS, ETC. AND TANDY LESTHER HAS NO EUROPE FOR SALE. VERY GOOD WORK.
I really enjoyed watching your video, a true tradesman at work, you have a new subscrber, hope you are keeping safe and well in these crazy times, best regards from Australia.
Amazing !! Was out in my shop last night trying to make a leather strap set up to hold battery in place on my 94 sportster. Really glad I stumbled onto your channel. And yes , subscribed . Guy Speight
@@OdinLeatherGoods Well, you have a really good and useful friend then ;). You still need to make good clips for someone to edit them into a good video though, so well done!
Lose the "music"..... Please!! But the craftsmanship is beautiful! In the shadow of Mt. Rainier, Wa I hope to visit your retail shop one of these days way down in Texas. I love your work man.
🇪🇦 DESDE ESPAÑA. MUY BUEN TRABAJO. PERO YA LE DIGO VOSOTROS CUENTAN CON HERRAMIENTAS QUE NOSOTROS NO ENCONTRAMOS EN EL MERCADO, COMO ESOS BUENOS MOLDES DE PUNTAS DE CINTO DE ACRILICO, ETC. Y TANDY LESTHER EUROPA NO TIENE PARA LA VENTA. MUY BUEN TRABAJO.
I use a 207 thread, but I don’t recall the needle size. I never change the needle size, as I pretty much only use 207 thread on that machine - occasionally 277.
Love your content! What kind of bottle do you use for your tokinole? I use a grog bottle with diluted tokinole and water 1:1 ratio but I find I'm wearing out the sponge side of the bottle fairly fast...

Sweet , the imperfections in that piece of leather really gives great character

Baytown! I spent a bit of time in Baytown when I was younger. I grew up in Galveston.
Thank you for sharing your belt making technique. I'm going to start making some belts myself and your video really helps me see the process.

I like that thing that you used to put the dye on the edges
Refillable dye markers. I have link above in the notes.
I'm sorry I missed it. Thanks
This may be it. Does it accept leather dye?
Montana Acrylic Paint Marker.

What size punch are you using for the holes? Great video and thank you so much for sharing. We are ordering all three template sets.

Great video. Would you mind sharing what size thread and needle you use to stitch your belts?
I use a 207 thread, but I don’t recall the needle size. I never change the needle size, as I pretty much only use 207 thread on that machine - occasionally 277.
In my saddle work I use mostly 277 but on some belts and decorative stiching, 346 really stands out. You need to use a groover at times tho.

I'm trying to log on to your site to look at your products .
If I may ask, what do you make your templates out of? I have a different hobby where I use templates on wood.
Looks great! What weight? 14+ oz?
Do u offer classes
