In Mongolia we say not to sit at the corner of the table because if you do, you will never be married. This sounds silly at first, but if you do not have the common sense enough to understand that a corner of the table is not suitable place for eating or bringing people together, then how will you integrate yourself into the society enough to be married?

this is such a good take on Zeno's Paradox. I was taught these things in Philosophy 101 in the must mundane, materialist manner that led me to dismiss them as primitive. If you focus on the threshold it devours the whole, even mathematically.

Forgive me if my english is bad, i'm brazilian. In the beggining of this year i was going back from the gym and I was thinking about putting my life together - stopping with bad habits, studying... And i saw a woman under a staircase with an extremely different energy. She was laying down on the dirty floor as a homeless person with her elbow touching the floor while her arms held her head, and she was gazing at me. Appearence wise she was the most stunning woman i saw in a very long time, but everything was so ominous. It seems like she was placed there to lure me, like calling me with her eyes and a smug in her face. Something snapped on me, like a primordial call of something being very wrong, so after looking at her, still, for two seconds i went back home. I had a strong temptation of coming back, like an animal of some kind, but i stopped myself over and over again. Watching your video now i can safely say that that was a God warning. I need to put things together now.

Kind of makes sense in a weird way. My grandmother from the south west of Ireland was a very orthodox Catholic and very superstitious at the same time. Her son and her grandson (that’s me) were still Catholic, but we thought we were more enlightened about that kind of thing than she. Now I think we were less wise and more presumptuous. All the same, I hope I never encounter a ghost and I hope that the evil eye is not an effective curse. On the other hand I always loved the old folk stories in which those superstitions came to life. I think the old story tellers (seanchaithe) had an agnostic view of what we now call folk beliefs.

the thing about this stuff is, both in the bible and among many christians there's a huge paranoia and rejection of superstition, so this subverting and de-enchanting the world.

Thanks for this. Being from the South there are some superstitions that feel “sinful” or “repulsive” to transgress. It’s nice to hear that I’m not crazy or pagan.

The black cat is unlucky if it crosses your path, meeting the devil at the crossroads.

OK makes sense. Like most other rituals these things don’t work with mechanical causality but instead work with a kind of causality of meaning and intelligence. I don’t think it’s a good idea to systematically explain how the causality of meaning works in great detail because awareness of it might hinder its effects, however, since this kind of thing is under attack, we might have to do it to some extent.
The question is to what extent do we pay attention to these superstitions?

Mirrors are also portals into the other world. Breaking it creates a disconnect and crystallisation of this world.

I think the black cat thing is about giving to much attention in wrong direction. Example someone is on their phone while driving, which can increase chance of crash. Just cause of not paying attention on the road.

Establishing the State of Israel before the arrival or recognition of The Messiah is bad luck.
It certainly seems like this superstition is ringing true, should have waited for Messiah
