Brazil's Government is Falling Apart...and it's Good News?
- During the presidency of Lula Da Silva, billions of dollars in bribes were taken to allow construction companies to overcharge the government-owned oil company, Petrobras. Now, Brazil has corruption, but it's actually pretty good for a developing country. But the people of Brazil have come to expect more, and they have been left down.
Current president, Dilma Rousseff, was chairwoman of Petrobras during the period of corruption, but no one knows whether Lula or Dilma were involved or aware. But Lula was under investigation before Rousseff appointed him to be her chief of staff, a move that means he can no longer be prosecuted by a normal court.
I think this whole thing speaks very highly of Brazil. A reckoning had to come, and I'm pleased the citizens are holding the government accountable. However, I can't stop seeing parallels between the awful partisan situation here in the U.S. and the lack of skepticism people in this story have when it comes to believing awful things about their political opponents.
Using this scandal to clean up Brazil must be done, but using it to score political points or gain power is going to rip the country apart.
This is an epic story, and no one knows where it ends. Whether Rousseff retains power and who gets elected once the house is fully cleaned out will say a lot about how this very young democracy handles its economic and cultural growth when people's perceptions are controlled largely by social media.
I think there are many good things in Brazil's future, but leaders will have to do more than fight for power. They will have to actually lead.

Hank, A lot has passed since this video, we deserve a PART II !
Thanks!
Hanks got influenced by the Brazilian online alt-right political machine, they have limitless resources.
And I must say that their message passed, a majority of Brazilians got baited, and they are persuasive enough to influence even someone meek and innocuous like Hank.
But unbeknown to him, he was supporting the worst collective folly in history, a population electing democratically a fachist demon.
This election was totally unfair, the Brazilian medias, including Hank's RUclips channel were one sided.
@@paultremblay4836 Brazilian media hates the president elect, and that's probably the reason why you would think this way. I take it you have not lived in Brazil - or at least not long enough to realize things on your own, as opposed to reading the exact media that you are mentioning here...
Andre roizman The president sucks. He’s a bigot and an authoritarian.
@@paultremblay4836Tremblay you're completely right, the elected president is a shame to those who can think for themselves. he is dangerous to the country's economy e to peoples diversity in Brasil! and it has nothing to do with media in Brasil cause TV doesn't have to much power anymore! Don't take much to see how unable to run a country the president really is!
@@iChannel_1 It's funny reading your comment after all the shit we've seen this past year. While you were correct that he's quite dangerous to the economy, it's not in the way you probably guessed, as was evidenced by the great success of economic statistics in 2019 in contrast with the government spending. While it was lower than previous governments managed to achieve at given points, it was right after a crisis and with monumentally less public investment. No, his danger to the economy is only showing up now, with his refusal to follow the initial agenda of privatizations and his meager (and counter-productive) tributary reform proposal.
Now, to 'diversity in the country'. I really don't know where you got the idea that he'd go around killing anyone or censoring them (which is what your alarmist argument implied). He didn't do that at all in all this time and it's unlikely that he will. That said, he seems to have a problem with a diversity of ideas among his companions. His most loyal partners are more and more hostile to former friends who disagree in a few topics, and he doesn't supports that kind of attitude either directly or indirectly. He has, on the other hand, been coming closer and warming to the more volatile centrists who might have something to offer him, in terms of political advantages. This isn't good. It's the opposite of what was preached in the election and one of the reasons for dissent in the right wing.
True, the TV giants have lost a lot of their former power, yes. The very election of 2018 attests that. The elected president was bombarded day and night with criticism in the most popular channels and by *all* the other candidates, but won nonetheless. Mostly due to his dealings in social media.
I still wouldn't dare speak something so arrogant as "to those who can think for themselves", because after all there's always a chance that we're wrong, no matter how smart you think you are.
All in all, I can't quite say we really had another option in 2018's second round because the other candidate suffers from the same shortcomings. Really, considering the government plan shared during the election, we really can't say he was friendly to dissenting voices either, his economic plan was potentially more disastrous than the current, and considering his close relation with a certain ex-president, I doubt he would escape the legacy of his peers, even though he seemed to be more capable.
Hello, I think we need a part 2.
Yeah because isn't there a new president now?
HANK PLEASE SEE THIS
And like wasn't there an assassination attempt? Like they stabbed him or something? I'm across the pond in Cape Town so I'm not as clued up on my Brazilian news
@Nicolas Siqueira lol its the total opposite here in South Africa, our government wants to lock us down again.
I could have made this video a lot shorter and easier to understand... "Socialism"
Corrections:
1. There are actually a bunch of oil and gas companies in Brazil. I just assumed and was totally wrong. Petrobras is by far the largest.
2. The image of those dictator-looking guys are THE WRONG DICTATOR LOOKING GUYS! That's Chile's military dictatorship, not Brazil's. Booo, bad Hank
3. I said that Brazil's transition to democracy was surprisingly non-violent, and I stand by that. However, I should note that there was violence, there was torture, and many people died fighting for Brazil's freedom before the eventual peaceful transition to democracy. I am comparing this transition, however, with, like, Libya or Syria. Both of which began as protests for democracy, and both of which are now embroiled in civil wars that may last for decades.
Can you do this on the situation of the Philippines belive me its very interesting
+vlogbrothers And Paulo Maluf, the corrupt, never really said that. People will think that we are even more stupid. LOL
You see Hank, even though your video was pretty much spot on, it still is incomplete. When people say our country is not for amateurs, it's because it really isn't. You need to understand basically our entire history to, maybe, comprehend what is going on.
We didn't do a revolution to separate ourselfs from Portugal; The republic proclamation (yeah, we were an empire before that, with royal family and all) was basically an agreement between the elites and many more.
To really grasp what we are living, you would need to live here. Oh, and don't inform yourself just by what the international media tells about Brazil, they mostly inform themselfs through brazilian "big" media, and they are as corrupt as the government, the judiciary and the companies.
+vlogbrothers Wait, so there was violence, torture, and death, but it was non-violent? (Sorry, not so clear on what you mean here. It can't have those things and be non-violent).
+philophos 20 years of military dictatorship where the government censured the press; Tortured and killed people that fought (some literally) for the return of democracy; Exiled its own citizens; etc. If you really want to know more, search for the "Rubens Paiva" case and the Araguaia's Guerrilla. Oh, the president was also tortured during that time.

It’s 2020 (and Brazil is pure caos), I’m really curious of how a part two of this video would look like
The Social Program you are talking about, Bolsa Familia, was not created by the Workers Party (Partido dos Trabalhadores) during Lula's first or second term as elected President, but by the former First Lady - Rute Cardoso, wife to former two term elected President Fernando Henrique Cardoso. The Program was created basically to increase educational standards to the poorest part of the country, North East and North Brazil, by providing the families with money n order to avoid the children being sent to their parents small substantial farm in order to provide more crops to increase family income. What Lula's and the Working Party's Patronizing Populism did was remove the obligatory class attendance and minimum grade to maintain the Program, as originally intended by Rute Cardoso; this made the kids go back to substantial farming for their families and they still get to keep the money just for enrollment, and even worst, since Lula's terms there is a new law on which children can no longer be flunked, just to increase Brazilian statistics Worldwide, but in effect having Functional Iliterate Poor Population. I am a dual citizen Amrican and Brazilian, living in Brazil since 1985, born in the US from a Salvadorian mother and a Brazilian father, I've seen civil war in El Salvador, bith abuses from right and left, and I have lived all the periods from Military Governments to Democratic Governments in Brazil and Corruption is the worst enemy of Brazilian Economy, thankfully we are now coming to terms with minimizing it's effects. Lula and Dilma had institutionalized corruption in a whole different level and we were very close to becoming a new Venezuela, not anymore.
!!!
+coyolgringo Yes!! And a great amount of what Lula "has done" in his government were actually mere consequences of 'Plano Real' and measures taken by the former president Fernando Henrique.
this program wasn't created just to the part north ou north east was for all Brazil. inclusive the south. and other thing, unhappyness the goverment of brazil made wrong when it just made a political of development in Rio or São Paulo and when not there were in south , e lot the other regions alone, making every there with anyone help for his development.

The Tancredo Neves grandson built a R $ 14 million airport in the granduncle ground has been questioned in court about the whereabouts of more than R $ 4 billion that should have been injected into the health of Minas Gerais. The Copasa case against the former governor was shelved. similar fate befell the references to Aécio in Lava jet. The toucan was quoted by Alberto Youssef as kickback beneficiary pays with Furnas resources. For the Attorney General of the Republic, it does not support an inquiry. Rodrigo Janot also takes care of another scandal which leads to Aécio under the Liechtenstein keyword (a principality next to Switzerland). Investigating the case of money laundering, prosecutors in Rio de Janeiro reached a holding company that was in the name of mother, sister, ex-wife and daughter of the toucan. This investigation is at a standstill since 2010 the Attorney General of the Republic drawer.

The most voted deputy of the region of Campinas (SP) received R $ 250,000 from a contractor involved in Petrobras corruption scheme investigated in Operation Lava jet. His last campaign raised officially, US $ 3 million. There is no evidence on the fairness of giving. 11- LUIZ PENNA (PV)
The President of PV also appears somewhat hidden in the picture. Irregularities already sent to the party account benefits include your name. In 2006, for example, much of the R $ 37,800 spent on aeres passages and R $ 76,800 with daily election campaigns were awarded to José Luis Penna. At the time, TSE servers pointed out the absence of documents which would conclusively prove the expenses and the use of false invoices, indicating ghost companies that have provided the services. The staff of the Court suggested the rejection of the 2004 party accounts, 2005 and 2006. The federal deputy responded to two lawsuits, one by TRE-SP, rejecting their provision of the 2006 election to the accounts, and another by the TSE reproving 2004 PV bills.12-Flexa Ribeiro (PSDB)
The senator now has been arrested by the Federal Police in 2004 in Operation Pororoca for fraud in tenders for major works carried out in Amapá. He was accused of active and passive corruption, conspiracy, influence peddling, embezzlement, dereliction of duty, usurpation of public function and insertion of false data into information system.13- ANTONIO Imbassahy (PSDB)
The toucan was federal deputy mayor of Salvador in 1999 when suspected contracts were signed with companies Andrade Gutierrez, Camargo Corrêa and Siemens, which formed the consortium responsible for the Salvador Metro. The Federal Public Ministry investigates overpricing in the works, which revolves around R $ 166 million. So far, two managers appointed by Imbassahy at the time and two companies were indicted. The toucan is the CPI Petrobras vice president, which investigates money shifts the state where directors of Andrade Gutierrez and Camargo Corrêa also appear as defendants. Imbassahy was charged by PT to take advantage of the post in the CPI to request documents to Petrobras and leak to the press.14- BOBBY ALBUQUERQUE (PSB)
former government employee Tarso Genro (PT) in Rio Grande do Sul, Beto Albuquerque (PSB) was involved in the intrigue that yielded the fall of the then director general of the Department of Highways Autonomous (Daer) José Francisco Thormann. Thormann anticipated a resignation after the local press have revealed that he traveled to Switzerland at the expense of a private company subcontracted to do work in the state. In defense of note, Thormann away suspicions about the fact, and revealed that Beto Albuquerque, when Secretary of State Infrastructure, also made trips abroad stands by companies that held contracts with the government. When the news came, Tarsus was no longer secretary - had left the PT administration to strengthen the bench of the PSB in Congress.15 RODRIGO MAIA

President of DEM, Agripino Maia was owner of the most evocative expressions of defense in the fight against corruption. "It's time to put the impeachment [Dilma Rousseff]," he said at the meeting with the anti-government protesters. The Senator has on his resume the charge of receiving R $ 1 million in bribes in a scheme that involved the inspection of vehicles in Rio Grande do Norte, between 2008 and 2011. Coordinator of the presidential campaign Aécio, Democrat, in 2014, had his case filed in the MPF by former attorney general Roberto Gurgel Republic. But it was reopened seven months ago by Janot, and is now being investigated in the Supreme Court (STF).18- Ronaldo Caiado (DEM)
Senator Ronaldo Caiado (DEM) is associated with the bookie Carlinhos Cachoeira for allegedly receiving illicit funds in the 2002 campaigns, 2006 and 2010. The waterfall was denounced by influence peddling and negotiating fees to raise funds for electoral disputes. The bookie was arrested in 2012 by Federal Police operation that discomfited tampering scheme of slot machines. Caiado was quoted in this context, recently, Demosthenes Torres. He would have participated in negotiations between Waterfall and a retired police chief who wanted to expand illegal gambling schemes. Even familiar Democrat has been reporting target.

In Brazil you can die from anything but boredom, anytime brazilians try to be bored something happens.
Some "corrections":
1) The Petrobras scheme is prior to Lula some 10-15 years prior.
2) Before Lula the big dominating parties controlled brasil (PSDB and PMDB) and those parties have made sure that the judiciary didn't work. This made all the corruption possible. This was when "ending in pizza" began.
3) Lula freed the judiciary, this is why so many people started to be investigated and go down.
4) The PT (workers party) is implicated in the scandal, but his implacation is minor compared to other parties likes PSDB and PMDB, and while PT is falling those other parties are blinded by the media and the judiciary yet. For example: the head of congress (the one coordinating the impeachment process) is GUILTY of so much stuff, had his money in Switzerland frozen and is not being prossecuted, his accusations (and many others) will end in pizza.
5) Also, the media here was in the schemes for so many years before Lula that it was always against him, and the media in recent years after the crisis was able to sway the population towards its view that everything from the Workers Party is bad and corrupt, all the while ignoring EVERYTHING else in Brazil, there is NO mention of any other scandall (and there are a lot of them).
PS: Right now, the only "implication" of Lula with those schemes is the suspicion that he owns am undeclared small ranch and an appartment, both of those supposed give from big contractors but not proven in any way. Also Dilma is not implicated with ANYTHING, NOTHING, ZERO, NADA. But due to media, if you ask anyone they will tell you that she is the devil incarnated and head of mafia.

I must say I'm impressed, I came here expecting to find an asshole talking a lot of shit about something he doesn't understand, instead I found a guy talking facts in a neutral way. Good to know that there's people on RUclips that do that, because I'm so tired of idiots talking about politics without the slightest understanding of it, especially here in Brazil
+Matheus Duque I'm very impressed as well. Stunning analysis,
You are wrong dear. We still can find brazilian neutral comments.
+Joao LSF First of all, neutrallity doesn't exists! And most brazilians where trully into a pollitical wrath storm, even those with civilized behavior!
+Pedro Batista I have to disagree it's plenty possible to look at both sides of the story and judge them based on facts without actually taking either of them. Of course eventually I'm gonna have to choose one of the sides since I'm gonna have to vote in the future, but I'll choose my vote based on facts and not on my feelings for a political figure
Matheus Duque The simple act of interpret the world, even when you base yourself 100% in facts, create a specific point of view. Cientific method man...
"Tens of millions of brazillions" seems like pretty big number
seeing a hopeful take from the past on brazil is... bittersweet
As Brazilian, I just realized how weird it sounds to say "Ending in Pizza"
In English yes but they have many weird expressions when translated for other language as well.
Portuguese for English Speakers but but but "tudo termina em pizza" doesn't get much better -.-
+Jonas Amaro Well depends. It would be better translated for Britons like: Everything ends in tea. For Americans; Everything ends in Pumpkin Pie, for Russians: Ends in Kalashnikov AK-47 and Canada ends in maple syrup or Tim Horton's. lol
+Portuguese for English Speakers HAha! i liked it! It's true!
+Portuguese for English Speakers here's the difference tho, for anglophones we usually don't directly translate and expression or use the same words of another language....
Wealthy, urban, "white" Brazilians are NOT mostly conservative, and poor, "non-white" Brazilians are NOT mostly liberal. There are polls showing that. Please check your facts, vlogbrothers.
This.
I think he may have been making assumptions based on typical upper and lower class political allegiances in other countries. But I think it's also a deliberate over simplification on his part. Also, though it's not relevant, polls aren't always reliable. I'm not calling into question the reliability of your information, I'm just saying that spending time researching polls might have seemed pointless.
Brazilian here! Love this vid, but any discussion of any latin american country is not complete without acknowledging CIA intervention: Brazil didn't just oopsied into a dictatorship, the US basically installed it. Brazil was then sold to western corporations, it didn't just sprung out of the dictatorship (which lasted 20 looooong, haaaaard years, even if "not too violent" in numbers) with a big economy.
That sounds awful and I'm so sorry for what we did, but I just have to tell you that the phrase "oopsied into a dictatorship" is amazing😂
today, we live in a facist and totally negligent government towards working (poor) people. they rule for the bourgeoisie, they took away most of our rights, labor rights, health and education...
Oh.. how dramatic! Nothing has changed. You don't live in a fascist totalitarian government that is negligent.
I'm brazilian, I'm watching this first hand and I have to say: Frank Underwood is a newborn baby compared to these guys.
you probably know more about brazil than half of our population
+Flavio Haddad
É o povo que passa a imagem.
+Felipe Almeida
Half?! Fuck, you're optimistic!
+Felipe Almeida Not only half... At least 80%.
+Felipe Almeida What do you mean? People there are ignorant or just indifferent?
Well, 2 years have been enough to change the whole picture now.
I don't think a youtube title could have ever been any more wrong.
I am brazilian. And I am in Brazil!!!
This was the first impartial talking that I heard in months!!!
I live in the UK and I had absolutely no idea this was happening!
It really shows how much news is cut out if they deem it not important to us!
+enlathestrange Same here in Australia. If it wasn't for a couple Brazilian friends posting updates about it I wouldn't know anything about it at all!
Makes me wonder how much is going on out in the world that the media doesn't want us to think is important.
Same in the Philippines! All I ever hear about this days is "this candidate campaigned in this province" (it's election season here too) and "Trump said this" and "China is trying to take over our territory again".
Even worse is the comment section of some articles... since when did I live in a time where torture is justified as a way to combat crime and Communism?
In Norway too. I wouldn't have any idea of what was happening unless a Brazilian internet acquaintance of mine told me about it. I became really worried for him and tried to check out some Norwegian news outlets for more information and found absolutely no mention of anything related to this whole mess.
+enlathestrange Yeah, no one in Germany knows about this either. I am moving to Brazil in October and they just keep saying, omg, but everything is cheaper there and there is a beach!
Yeah, Brazil has a lot more problems not mentioned in the video. The minumum wage for a months work full time (so 160 hours) is 215 euros... like, almost 1 euro an hour.... and things are just as expensive as they are in continental europe...
Brazil is quite the hot mess right now... And no one has a clue...
+Damien Muller You're attributing malevolence to the media when there are simpler explanations.
Update: We still on fire
I think this has aged worse than any other vlogbrothers video. As a fan I would love a retrospective.
*Lula in english = Squid*
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
+Pedro José as brazilian you believe if i tell you , i never know why that title if he (lula) must have some title they must be called the king of liars
Entendeu, coitadinho????
It's good to see someone neutral talking about it.
+Laura M Indeed.
+Laura M I'm afraid to say he is not neutral. I'm a brazilian and the police has a lot of proofs that Lula is totally corrupt. And with the high probability that he would be arrested, Dilma indicated he as a minister, so he can't be arrested. They are not innocent!!! They are corrupt!!!
+Laura M Cuz intends to be explanatory information, but pay close attention, it´s not neutral.
+velhodosno. Yes his opinion about what is happening in our country right now is not neutral(this is somewhat a dumb thing to say because any opinion by its own very nature is not neutral) but I think that is important for you to notice that his opinion is based in a lot of political/economical facts, not in his personal feelings about the government or the state chief.
nah not neutral. uninformed, the least.
From the past to now! Hey you were completely right about my country politics in that time. So bro, I strongly suggest you make a new refreshing video about it😊. Thanks a lot for this one ❤
This video aged badly...
Wow, This dude is a fast talker! He must speak over 200 words per minute.
em uma palavra: "Obrigado."
in two words: "Thank you."
The algorithm shows me this video in 2023 after the Brazilian riots almost toppled the government.
hank, we need a part 2! thanks for trying to understand our situation, sending virtual hugs from brazil :)
I bet that the World Cup and the Olympics are making a difficult situation much worse. Last time I checked the World Cup cost Brazil billions of dollars, and I imagine the Olympics are not much better.
+Juan Nunez (Faded Endless) Most of the public spending on these events are under the "Car Wash" investigation too.
+Juan Nunez (Faded Endless) you are completely correct, also here in brasil the government has been tearing down houses of poor people to build things for the olympics and the cup
A good take on the current Brazilian political situation! Congratulations! However, I'd chance two points: First of all, I never heard of that so called saying that Brazil is not for beginners. that diplomat just made that one up LOL!
Second, the economical success of Lula's administration is greatly due to the former president's economical implementations (Fernando Henrique Cardoso), and Lula was competent enough to not only keep those implementations and politically profit from them, but also (as any populist) throw said president's image under the bus, by convincing the public opinion that Cardoso was the mind behind many public companies being privatized back in the 90's, which is not true. The reduction of governmental control over those companies was estabilished by the president before Cardoso, Fernando Collor, who was impeached himself, two years after elected, and didn't have time to finish his neo-liberal actions.
true!
+Francisco Leite "Brazil is not for beginners" is a Tom Jobim's quote.
+Francisco Leite You are right. Also, I don't think our people is divided "racially", between blacks and whites, there are not many white people around here, everybody is mixed. And there are no racist party too, only right-wing religious politicians that don't like gay rights. Also, we almost don't have a native ethnic group like other countries of Latin America, almost everyone is black, white or mixed.
+André Felippi (dido) I agree, André. Brazil is not that polarized politically (except those religious/military ultra-right-winged morons), but the public's political opinion generally is, because, in most situations, we fail to recognize our fellow citizens as the same as ourselves. We make fun of people from Rio, Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul, the Northeast because of stupid stereotypes, we kill other teams fans, we belittle other people's faiths. As long as we don't build that empathy towards our neighbors, we're doomed.
+Francisco Leite Podem falar portugues ta... kkkkk
wow this aged incredibly poorly
Very crisp delivery 👌. A content dense video indeed! Great job.
imagine this guy trying to understand how is brazil now...
Vitoria Roberta Today is impossible
Vitoria Roberta
I did it would be really hard.
We're all right. Brazil is not for beggies. And it gets more complex ... Waiting for the asteroid...
Pizza is a Italian word. Just the same in here.

I stop in "independent and strong judiciary "
Amazing. I am brazilian and, you can trust me, you explain this better than the television and newsletters
You need to know. Dilma didnt fought against dictatorship, just against militarism... She fought for comunist dictatorship, same scheme that lead Cuba to Fidel Castro era of chaos and poverty.
+Trabants U2 Cover Your profile picture! I took a picture of myself there on the berlin wall when I was 4 years old, and when I visited again last summer!
+MagicTheGathering Team5Color Wow boy...
Brazil on TV always look nice, and I hope this country gets better
+Aj Kucevic Thanks my dude
Could you do another video on this considering the latest events?
I'm Brazilian and found your description very good.
It feels very weird as a Brazilian, being told by an American about what's going on in my own country...
+uknwtheusername It's very common for foreigners to be able to give a more even view of events going on in a country because they have no stake in it and no incentive to skew the statements in this or that direction.
As another example, good luck trying to find an American who can give a completely unbiased statement about the upcoming presidential election with the 4 main candidates being Sanders, Clinton, Trump and Cruz. You won't be finding one from me, go Sanders 2016.
+asdfghjkl I'm that unbaised American. All of the canidates suck.
+asdfghjkl I agree! However, as informed as John is, he fails to understand the cultural complexity and difference.
Also, off the top of my head, he got the Lula creating the school programme thing wrong. That was actually created by the previous president, an Economics teacher, widely hailed the best president in Brazil.

+xZeno Porra que preguiça disso, vai estudar cara.
+xZeno Golpe é o Lula virar presidente, digo ministro.
We need part 2!
*notices this is from 6 years ago
... Oh boy
It's also worth it to mention that most of the succession line is also being investigated.
Ramon Davi vc nao entendeu o comentario ne ?
Look! is the guy from crash curses Chemistry ,Brazil has been learning about corruption, I hope we can progress forward on understanding the political world , we got too comfortable on letting the government "taking care of things" thanks for your videos , I learn a lot with it.
This aged like milk.
As a Brazilian, I think that was quite an accurate summary of everything going on.
+Georgina Campos Except from the fact that the world is communist.
And you and me, have no freedom.
@@alanlanzoni8854 do you feel more secure nowadays?...because here we are going to start a war for the lies of the extreme right

That awkward moment when you ask a serious question and get a million gifs in response
“In a stunning turn of events”
When Hank (not brazilian) is capable of explaining our situation better than most brazilians can, you get really shocked! Thanks Hank, love how you and John care so much about everyone everywhere in the world!
+Lavinia Mari Distance helps...and I'll say I'm still very ignorant of a lot of what has happened in Brazil. Whenever I try to make one of these videos about an issue in the U.S. I totally fall apart.
+vlogbrothers It's very hard to be impartial when you are in the middle of the chaos
+vlogbrothers this video honestly made we wonder when a video on Trump is coming. But its hard to make a video on that topic seeming to express your own political views - something you guys try to stray from.
+vlogbrothers You guys should try do a video about Australia. And how we have had four prime ministers in 2 and a half years. And maybe how the country is pretty much owned by Hancock Prospecting.
+vlogbrothers if I'm brazillian I'm already level hard?
im brazilian all i have to say is... what great video you have made
Thank you for the video! The situation of my country needs to be listen for the people on the world.
I am Brazilian. Talking a little about my country... Brazil is extremely rich, it is a giant in Agriculture, Oil, agriculture, livestock, mineral wealth, such as iron, niobium, gold, diamonds... Brazil was already supposed to be the greatest world power, but this has not yet happened due to political corruption. Brazil is beautiful, rich, full of friendly people, natural ecosystems: Amazon, Serrado, Pantanal, Caatinga, Atlantic Forest.... Brazilian culture is diverse. At home, people have their own way of talking and dressing. Brazil is not just São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is much more. There are beautiful cities, such as: Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, Teresina, Goiânia. Main cities in the Amazon: São Luís, Belém, Manaus. Come meet Brazil. Big hug from Ademério
Rouseff is the Brazilian equivalent of Hillary Clinton.
hahahahahahaha... no.
even though she helped POOR people who are the ones who need help but then some people that the majority were white and werent poor protested against her because of the media. But the president that is going to substitute dilma is WAY WORSE
Brian_ thehotice No way dude lol
More or less. Just that she is revisionist. (AKA, she is for the sistem tht destroyed the USSR amd all of eastern europe. That sistem is called Market socialisim, reformisim and/or revisionisim.)
#TEMER
Brazil has been 'The country of the future' for the past 30 years...
Trust me... no-one seems to be in charge, know the rules or know what the hell is going on!
They are in charge whenever is convenient to them. But not anymore, people are supremely pissed off and are appealing to some generals to intervene and get rid of all these corrupt politicians. Bring back the right conservative movement.
Hi from Brazil, thanks for the analysis!
As a Brazilian I've never steered too far into Into either side, often considering both options bad, however, Lula's achievements and overall ideology of helping them in need has made me mostly a PT Supporter.
Wow. That was surprisingly accurate. I'm always skeptical when I hear foreigners talking about Brazil. They usually get it all wrong... or at least "kinda" wrong...
+Alex San Lyra sun, this guy knowdn't nothing about Brazil, I KNOW THE HISTORY, he told a lot of shit, as you can see more detailed info in my comment.
Zyzzye Plays That's why I hate when murricans talk about Brazil, they never make their homework the right way.
Any problems?
Better than comment something that the producer of the video will not be able to understand, even if it has some mistakes
For sure! This a not a kind of video made for brazilian audience, that's why the guy spoke in english. duuuh.
mybestyears and does it matter? Since we know a foreign language we have to USE IT! Whether you want or not xD
Dude, excellent analysis! Congrats
