In verse 2:184, the Hafs Quran reads the verse to be "... a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person...". On the other hand, the Warsh Quran reads it "... a ransom [as substitute] of feeding poor people..." Logically prophets being killed is not the same meaning as prophets fighting and feeding one is different in meaning from feeding many. Clearly we have two different versions of the quran here which proves that the qurans (plural) have not been perfectly preserved.
