Have you any comments/suggestions for preventing the double-thickness part of the looped string from coming over the crest of the bridge- or does that make any difference at all?

Are the slots the same size as the main part of the string or the thicker wound end near the ball?

The slots are generally larger than the wound string

I use both slotted and unslotted pins
