I’m glad we already have to old boxes. I like to wooden boxes better and the quality of the older pieces. I also like the bigger size and being able to separate things out more within the box.
Love the new boxes. Both the other wooden boxes I have broke in some way or another. Glad these issues were solved and I think the silicone tanagram pieces are brilliant. They won’t slide around like you said. Perfect.

Love the changes with the tangrams! I get that some will be upset with not having the cars and planes but I can see how it actually fits on the actual games. I definitely like the old boxes! My daughter takes care of her things, and we’ve had no issues with the wooden boxes and the lids. The clock has held up well on the Math 1 box and she loved the cars in the Math K box. It made the games more fun! I will be placing our order for Level 2 once that sale goes live so praying we get the old box!
I think I prefer the old boxes too. I love the quality materials of the wooden pieces, wooden cars, metal planes, etc. It looks like they've changed a lot of the pieces to cardboard (clocks, cars, planes, ships, etc.) that I just don't imagine will last as well through several siblings.
Same ours has held up very well. We haven’t had any issues. I personally like the material of the coins better in the wooden boxes. I do like the box itself but sad about material for things. Chipboard is not going to last well if u have kids that are rough on things. I only have one kid that I use TGTB with so I’m not concerned but I know others will be

My 3 kids have used boxes 1-3 and they have held up very well and I'll be able to sell them at the hs consignment store when we're all done. I can't see these being in decent condition after a few kids. Also this is a personal problem but my kids can't handle how silicone feels, too many sensory problems in this house.😂 I totally get how things are getting insanely expensive and TGTB is probably trying to find ways to not have to raise prices and I appreciate that!

Thanks so much for showing these… debating on buying ahead to get all the old boxes while I can… I like some of the changes but since I plan to use this with 2 children, I can see all the cardboard stuff getting destroyed very quickly… and something I really loved about the math boxes were the quality tactile pieces like the cars, I love their math but I have to admit I’m a little reluctant about this change.
I love our wooden boxes, and I think my kids will appreciate the old pieces more. I’m going to buy the new ones for when we go to the library to insure the old boxes don’t get broken or lost pieces. I am sad they are getting rid of them. My youngest is 1 (last baby) and I will pack them away safely for him. 😂
I don't like them. They look cheaper and I'm guessing the same amount of money. It looks like the will not last through multiple kids. For example math box 2 - the pawns are solid not cardboard and the stars are on wood not cardboard.
I agree. The quality has gone down in my opinion. Even when it comes to the little cars in the kindergarten kit. The actual rolling cars are so much more fun than a little moveable cardboard pawn.
I haven't used them long term but from my initial thoughts they seem pretty sturdy! The good thing is that you can still make your own boxes or buy the old ones until they aren't sold out. Both old version and new version work with the curriculum:)

Wow I had no idea they were gonna chage ! I like some and dislike most though! The new box lid is better then the old wood slide, but I can see with time and multiple kids that the cardboard will break down. The clock move is good, Mine arrived broken. I prefer the magnetic tangrams. I also appreciated having the built in white board to do scratch math. The game pawns are just more little pieces to keep track of for me. I like the little silver planes and cars! Glad I already have all the math boxes!
Actually, I found my daughter sitting on the new box, and it didn't break, haha. It's made a very sturdy material ... It's not paper. It's actually much better in my opinion than the wooden box. The wooden box has that Montessori feel, which I think parents really liked, but because of all the issues, some recalls, and feedback, they decided to change it up. But they definitely feel and look durable. I'll make sure to drop it a couple of times and report back 🤣 hope that helps! ❤️

If you still have the wooden box I carved a hole in the box so I could flip the clock lid so it wouldn’t fall off when I put it away you can use a regular kitchen knife the wood is very soft
I just ordered Math 2 today. Their website doesn't show the boxes like this. My son was so excited to get the metal helicopter, rocket, and planes. He's going to be bummed. I do like the boxes better than the wooden ones though.

You might be able to find some on Facebook market! And I think rainbow resources have the old boxes too if you're in America :) so far, I've been using the new boxes and no issues with quality yet. I get the disappointment. Hope the suggestions above help!
So the old Math 3 Box has already sold out! So you would get the new one. If you go on their website they will show it once you click the level you want.. so far all the other levels haven't been sold out (as of the time I'm writing this!) They have been announcing it on their IG and email list... so definitely keep an eye out if you want the new boxes... if you was the old ones you can still get it from level K, 1 and 2 :) hope that helps!
These are cool, but are they a necessity to do the curriculum? I have a lot of these parts or similar from when I taught. I know I don't have dice like they have the wooden ones, but i was thinking if I NEED them I can make some from cardstock.

Prices will stay the same. With rising prices everywhere, they are keeping prices the same for their curriculum. They do offer their math curriculum for free (PDF), and they also have a section on the Math FAQ on how you can make your own math boxes to keep the cost down :)

I have not found the pdf for the math box in the FAQ anymore. Do you have a direct link? Have they removed this valuable resource? I wish the math box pdf was included with the curriculum download or easier to find. The free PDF still costs money as well to print and bind but does save money if you have multiple children and an expensive printer to save on ink. I am printing level 1, but my child loves the math box 🥰 and I plan to reuse the wooden boxes when my newborn so I liked the durable wooden pieces it felt more Montessori.

This is kinda off topic but you do TGATB videos all the time. Have you done the maturation and sexual reproduction book yet? I am starting to look into different curriculums for that and want to be careful when choosing one if you know what I mean.

Other than the clock issue I'm not liking the paper box. It's bound to break down. Ever had a game box get dropped and the corners separate?

They have a list/movie on their website that shows you all that you will need. I have bought a box before, and also DIY-ed my own box too.

At the end of the video she said they will be selling the old boxes first and as those sell out they will switch to the new boxes.
