I love the designs you used here and the quilt would look great upon completion with either design too. You are a great instructor and give us so much important information to use in our projects. The work I will be doing first is blocks already put together and just have to be combined into the full quilt and why I am here getting as much knowledge as possible before attempting the work ahead. The instructions you have given us in this video series is a big help and I hope others find the information as valuable as it has been for me. I thank you for this information and will use it fully to complete all my projects and hope to get better with each project.
Thank you for such precise and helpful practice suggestions. Too many teachers show-off fancy moves and then say "practice," but they skip the basics and leave us newbys totally intimidated because our practice doesn't even come close to making descent swirls or butterflies, or curly-Qs. I do wish we could have seen the back of your quilting practice, and that you'd talked about tension. I am having problems there and have no idea how to solve them.
I like the Teflon glider on your machine bed. It seems to help you move effortlessly. I've been practicing on brick sized sandwiches, some are good some are laughable.
Thank you so much Vanessa. I really enjoy your videos. I have the 2010 and I ordered the black mats, but I don't know how to hold them down. The Teflon seems to not let the tape stick. Please help! Thanks again.
Hi Vanessa, I have the same machine and it came with two closed free motion feet. I was wondering if you can tell me where to get an open toe foot for this machine. Thank you for your great tutorials!
+LindieLee For free motion quilting I recommend Glide thread or Isacord. They are both 100% polyester but because they are so slippery they run like a dream through the machine at the high FMQ speed. :)
+Cassie Clarke Yes. I cut a hole big enough for the needle to clear it as it stitches but you can cut a bigger one so the feed dogs and needle aren't touching when you sew. I also tape it down (with a low-tack washi tape) to my extension table so the mat doesn't move.
I was about to give up until I watched your videos on free motion quilting. Thank you so much!!! Yours are the best!
You are so welcome! I’m glad you didn’t give up! Keep at it. You can do it! 🙌🏽♥️
I have watched so many videos on how to do quilting with free form, yours is the best. Thank you

hi. please do a video on making a fitted bed sheet.
When you start to free motion quilt a blanket.....Do you start in the center and move out or go from top to bottom.
I have the same Juki sewing machine as yours. Where did you get the open toe foot? I apologize if you already answered somewhere else.
+Ruth Hurley This is the one I use: amzn.to/1T6xf1Y Happy quilting!
I have trouble keeping the stitches even. W/O the feed dog up the thing I'm trying to quilt moves around. How can I correct that??

Do you have a favorite thread for your Juki? I tried Aurafil once and and hated it.

+TheCraftyGemini Do you cut a whole in it for your needle or what do you do?
