there is a lot of misinformation in this video. First off all pacific salmon die after spawning this includes sockeye, chinook (king), pink, chum, and coho. at 4:25 your helping hand was unbearable for me to watch. The sockeye spawn in little pools like that so you basically rendered their eggs useless as nobody is there to protect them. I know all of this because i live right by salmon bearing rivers and have grown up fishing these waters for decades. Salmon is one of the most important parts of my life and im enthusiastic that we had such a good run in 2010. Lets hope that this august we can have a repeat or better run than in 2010
Yesterday I was at Adams River to film a video about Sockeye Salmon Run. I've been lucky to see them in 2010, 2014 and this year too. They came this year late and the number is good compare to 2014, but 2010 was unbelievable. Thanks for capturing this in 2010.
I don't believe so. It is their spawning run and most die after laying eggs. They also change physically when they move into the fresh water so I suspect you wouldn't want to fish them at this stage. Better fishing in the ocean. :)
You can, just not in the river...they are in the lake and are fair game.. they are not interested in worms though, they are only into breeding. You will most likely catch a trout feeding off the salmon eggs
Nice Video , When you dove there, did you go with a diving shop or you managed everything yourself ? Is there any place where we can rent air tanks closeby ? Thanks
Brilliant video!! We will be there this October and I can't wait!! Did you see any bears while you were there??
Yes, not directly by the river, but by the highway bridge.
Are you allowed to fish for them???
Hi what time of year is best to go see this, I want to take my little brother!
October or end of September depending on the year.

i live in the lower mainland so the only chances for me to see these fish are in the capilano river or the seymour river
I want to catch these

What's with that guy chopping the salmon in half on the shore? He needs to find a new hobby
DFO is counting dead Sockeyes for their statistics so they chop off the tails to ensure they don't double count them. Not a hobby it's a job.
