- Dear MVPs, thank you for your support during our Open Beta! The feedback and inspiration has been amazing.
On June 25, we’ll be closing the MultiVersus Open Beta as we prepare for our launch in early 2024. We plan to be back and better than ever with new content, features, modes and more when the game returns next year. In the meantime, please stay tuned for updates as we work towards the next phase of MultiVersus.

What the open beta 2024?
MVS needs a killer ad campaign once it releases because nobody will care unless they see it. Hell, I tried talking to friends about the game and they had completely forgotten it existed. This, coupled with the fact that PFG has a history of delaying literally everything they announce, I wouldn’t be surprised if the full release got pushed back as well.
The beta is fun, but things did take a stag during the last bits of it. I am excited for the official launch and I hope that the team takes all the feedback to heart
This game needs local multiplayer. It cannot live up to its potential without it.

As much criticism I give the game them shutting down the open beta is definitely a wise decision since that actually gives them time to address the issues and turn the game into an overhaul.
Waiting until 2024 will take a lot of time, but we still have almost 3 months.

This game will never be re-released 😢. Like so many live services, this is just a nice way to let us know it's shutting down for good. WB cancels way too many projects for them to "pause" this game and continue active development behind the scenes.
Yeah, the game isn't coming back. PFG has lied repeatedly on upcoming content. They pulled the plug on season 3 days before it's already delayed release date just to announce they're taking the game offline. 85% of the updates in the beta were just more ways to spend money. They're gonna take the cash and dip out.

This seems like a great move. Taking in feedback, taking your time with content, and not letting the game stagnate in the beta content state while you prepare for ironing out an official release is great.
I am especially excited at the notion that there IS an offline mode expected in the interim; part of my worry for the game was longevity because of its server connection dependency even for offline mode, so glad this is being addressed and implemented.

@@The_gaslight_district_Fanboy Nick All Star Brawl is literally better, it has a story mode unlike multiverses, repurposed moves from other games, it’s basically just smash melee with some different moves and story. Multiversus is just some Warner Brothers characters with some annoying moves or just ass movesets, the maps are also super small which makes it even worse.

if you divide 2024 into 3 equal parts, early 2024, mid 2024 and late 2024 it would be 12 months divided by 3 which equals 4
which means early 2024 would include january, february, march and april
They are FINALLY moving out of Beta, and fixing the issues. I am hoping this isn't the end of Multiversus and come back stronger than ever.

I forgot it was a beta after all this time. And I wasted $60 for a battle pass I don't grind.
TL;DR: "We screwed up so badly that it's going to take about a year to fix it."
can't wait for them to release it in 2024 as another "Beta" so that way if the game dies again they can just shut it down and go "We'll try next year!"
Watching this again on January 5th of 2024. I am still constantly waiting for this game to re-release. I have seen a lot of other news lately for example the McDonald's one. This is incredibly MultiVersus! Keep up the awesome work and I really can not wait to see what the game will look like very soon.
Here's hoping we get some villains in the release cadence after release. I know LotR content got yanked before we saw it, but damn I would have loved Sauron.
I miss this game a lot tbh. All they had to do was drop new characters more frequently it didn’t have to shut down
bruh why the f. do you think characters are the problem... the game released like 3 characters a month, that's certainly NOT the problem. It is, in fact, THE problem that the game have, since they cared too much about new characters instead of fixing their game and so.
@@lprevia3456 truthfully I didn’t play the game a lot. When i closed app on the main games I play it was nice to load up multiversus and beat the brakes off people with Superman to take off some steam. I never really noticed any game breaking bugs or glitches
@@PurePain0there wasn’t really a whole lot outside of server issues. i feel like there was a lack of transparency between the devs and the community. they said they would be slitting their devs for content fixes. and characters bc they couldn’t keep up with the internal bugs with new characters. they were also late with updates. and ranked was delayed a whole 3 weeks.
@@zorbzys1457 the game wasn't competitive. It was chaotic, too spammy and very unbalanced. That itself is a whole huge problem. The devs realized too late. Now hopefully they do bring us the much needed changes.

Glad to see that MVS isn’t going to close its’ doors for good. Of course, this is temporary but I suppose it’s what’s best for you guys. I wish the team a big good luck on delivering a fresh new experience for MultiVersus in due time. You know what they say, hopefully it would’ve been worth the wait.

Smart decision on pausing the game for a while so you can focus on the issues the beta had, i'll look foward to see new characters like Mordecai and Rigby, Daffy duck, Scooby Doo, more cartoon network characters , getting a new voice actor for Rick and Morty and new modes in the future, i havent play the game yet since i'm still waiting if it comes for the switch.

Well, interesting. Basically a relaunch and second shot at it. Probably the right move, just not sure people are going to still be interested in 2024. Might depend on the content at launch.

Expensive situation but if u can come out of this successful, you will have found the golden key and change the gaming industry. (People don’t realize how hard this is to crack and how pivotal if they do). I’m not sure if a bunch amount of content is the permanent solution. I compare it a bit to renting a movie: the kid wants everything in his power to see the news release and make it the most important thing…..but in reality, they are just young and don’t realize how little time it will actually satisfy them for. Truly, what brings them the most fun is how they interact with others regarding it. That’s what makes it last forever and I agree with figuring out how to deepen that in this video. I can’t wait!

Honestly for the best, the devs knew what they were doing wrong and they will hopefully fix those problems come 2024. Rather have this then no word or update at all.

This is the news that shocked and relief me, but do hope this game can at least do better for next year. I had fun playing this game, but tough to grind when getting some cosmetics or would’ve been differently.

One thing I hope is that they bring the game over to the switch for the nintendo boys so that everyone with a gaming system can access and enjoy the game. Other than that Im exited for the relaunch next year. Yeah its gonna suck not being able to play online after June 25th but I and I hope others understand that this is the best way to go. I was terrified for a moment that all my stuff I grinded hard for would be permanently deleted.
I guess this means the game will get bigger at its full launch,Hopefully we also get characters like Daffy Duck,Scorpian,Sub zero,CN characters from the 90s/2000s,And hopefully the game comes to the Nintendo switch

these comments are really positive considering at least 90-95% of players hate it, i can't wait for the official launch, I've spent a decent amount on the game, I'm glad they're not shutting down even if most of the player base left. I'm sure this official launch will bring many players back and see what new things it will have in store for us players. can't wait for the new launch, honestly it needs it and more
This game has been a part of my life ever since I first got it. An amazing game filled with wonderful characters, some really fun gameplay, and the people who worked on this game has put a LOT of love into this. I really can't wait to see more of this game in the future, and I'm wishing the people from Warner Bros. and Player 1st Games all the best with this game! ❤️

I still believe the open beta launched way too early; should've stayed as closed beta for at least 6 more months. That really killed the initial excitement of the playerbase because of a lot of technical issues, mostly notably character balance and broken hitboxes. Given the fact the competitive scene was being pushed with the game on beta, as well microtransactions, a lot of players believed the game was pretty much out already.
I love the game, but Season 2 really killed all my excitement for it. I really hope these next months until the 2024 release help polish the game and bring back the playerbase. Tony and the team are super dedicated and talented, and it baffles me Warner Bros. isn't providing them a larger budget and expanding the team, because MultiVersus has everything in its advantage to become a really good platform fighter.
Feels like companies just give lower budgets to other plat fighters that aren't smash or brawlhalla.

I just hope when the game is full release they include two things:
A story mode for people, like me, who largely play offline (Simply cause I don't have online access), and a physical copy of the game. Yeah, I'll have to spend money to buy the game through physical copy, but I'm fine with that since I'd rather have physical copies of games then downloading

This entire time it was a beta? We were in season 2 and they are closing it and we have to wait a year?? I feel like this is just an excuse for the game falling off, I am hoping it will improve at “launch” but I’m confused why we need to wait so much longer.

I'm really excited for 3rd party character in the future. For me I want michiru from BNA, riku, xion, and axel from kingdom hearts, neku from the world ends with you, or rindo and fret from neo the world ends with you, etc.

Surprised this actually was an open beta and not just a quiet release. I stopped playing multiversus due to balancing of characters, hard grind as a free player, disappointment in the ranked mode, poor quality of online matches, not very good custom rooms, and some other personal distaste for characters. I probably won't get back on the open beta but I am looking forward to playing the full release!
Next year I bet the graphics is going on to be even better
