    Lovely video. I use the SL5 quite a bit between Croydon and Bromley. As you saw it is a single decker, because part of the route follows a section of protected trees.

    • @ricktownend9144
      @ricktownend9144 4 месяца назад

      I wonder if - being single deck - it actually loads and unloads more quickly that the double-deckers on the other SL routes. I know TfL wouldn't do it, as staff costs would go up, but I think that if they doubled the Superloop service generally but ran single-deckers, the buses would run significantly faster, and a lot more people would use them.

    • @HonarySpock
      @HonarySpock 4 месяца назад +1

      @@ricktownend9144 it is a pity is not a double decker service, but they have no choice due to the protected trees, The service runs every 10 mins during the day and every 15 mins at other times. It usually takes 20 to 35 minutes Croydon to Bromley North. The normal bus takes over an hour.

    It's not a complete circle so shouldn't be called a loop, maybe they should link it by using the ferry so the passengers don't have to walk. If TfL wanted to make it fast they could use the Dartford Crossing, the M25 is also not a complete circle, the crossing not Motorway.

    • @JohnnyHooverTravels
      @JohnnyHooverTravels  4 месяца назад

      @@tonys1636 well yes. Maybe we should allow them the latitude of that. After all "Superloop" is a good marketing term, even if it isn't quite a loop. Tbh most riders won't care as free will be interested in the whole loop anyway. But it is a shame there isn't something to meet you at the South shore... but that's just me being nerdy.
