yes she wouldnt look right as a blond, and that duo color was just bad. she is so beautiful with her regular dark long hair...her hair looks healthy again, the duo color looked very fried and straggly. its amazing how much hair can make a difference. julia roberts with s shgort short cut in the pirate movie-ugh, then her long hair in pretty woman-holy mackeral gorgeous! hair can make sucj a difference.

It is for me....I like alone time. No one hanging off of me, demanding, yak yak yaking. It helps me breathe for a little bit so I can concentrate on what I'm really at that store for and make smart decisions.....not all willy nilly coming home with half of what I need. When I have the kids/hubs in tow, in 5 mins I'm close to tears and just want to go home!! We do what's best for each of us individually learning by trial and error what helps us to improve, grow and make things better for our families, ourselves.

I appreciate her pointing that out also. She’s basically saying that doing necessary errands are not the same as self care, not the same as time alone to relax and focus on yourself.
However, sadly making a common sense comment will attract all kinds of negative comments saying things such as, “well it is for me!” “I get to focus on myself fully when I grocery shop, so I disagree with you!” Etc etc.
For crying out loud. Instead of people finding common ground in the opinions of a creator they have to focus on contracting everything. The “yeah but” people drive me crazy

you are so beautiful. your honesty, and your approach to regular life is so real. life long lBS here, it’s unpredictable. stress is a huge factor. if it gets severe follow the FODMAP diet, but it’s most important not to overeat at a meal and really pay attention to being regular, because it’s often the contrast in your body between periods of C and D that triggers an episode. also if you’ve had to take antibiotics for anything, it ruins your microbiome. try to eat fermented foods, yogurt with live cultures, etc rather than just take supplements. try to avoid imodium, it really throws off your natural body rhythms. also try to avoid artificial sweeteners. all your positive actions really show. it goes so fast with kids, before you know it the baby will be in school too. you’re great parents, god bless your beautiful family.

I have fibromyalgia and arthritis plus a really messed up ankle, and I'm twice the weight I should be so life is hard. Unfortunately eating is something I can still do easier than exercise or chores. My mom sang “ You are my Sunshine” to my brother and I, and I sang it to my kids and grandkids. Moms is gone now, but when I’m sad or depressed, I hear mom singing that to me and I feel better ! I started journaling as well, really helps me work things out and make me realize how my life is good and staying grateful and grounded. I do my best to stay active and take care of myself. I want to age the best I can. I never believe how old I am, sure don’t act my age ! I also love how you brought up all these old songs from the 60’s and 70’s…..my time growing up. Yes thank you not enough people talk about how hard it is being a mom/ parent. It is the best thing in the world but it it also hard and an adjustment. I'm still trying to find a balance and me time. I have a 1 1/2 old daughter and omg I listen to that's so Cinderella and I was in tears. It is so her and I love Cinderella. Mio or liquid IV type of flavoring helps me drink more water.

It is hard being a Mom. Self care is also taking care of your family. You look refreshed.

My kids are almost grown now, but I remember when they were little like yours. It was so difficult to find time for self care, but it’s so important to keep stress under control and to be the best mom you can be. I like the song Time Stand Still by Rush. It’s about how fast time goes by and wishing to pause it just to enjoy it more in each moment. I think they wrote it when their kids were young like yours.

I don't have kids, but for those who have family or friends that do check on them to make sure they are ok. When my friend had her baby i went to her home and watched the baby and her five yr old so her and her husband could go out. It's the little things that make a difference.

Don't let what others say about you or your life make you feel like you are not doing enough because it is your life and as long as you care and you do all you can do even when you do it later it really is all that matters and if you are not pushing yourself to be what others say you should be then you will be happier being yourself and doing it your way and your family will be happier also

I struggle with this very thing. I put so much pressure on my self to do and be more and it’s never enough. I’m learning how to be content with who I am, what’s important to me and where I focus my energy. It’s hard for me not to look around and say, she’s doing so much more than you, what’s your problem.

Thank you for sharing with us. I am not a mom, but I have IBS, so I feel that pain. I also have PCOS and cervical ectropion which cause issues for me too. It's nice when people share and talk about this kind of stuff....we all should support one another and make sure no one feels alone. I think sometimes people feel like they are not allowed to feel bad about what they are dealing with "because it's not as bad as what some others have to deal with"...but it's good to spead the message of self care and supporting each other cause everyone struggles sometimes and it's ok to talk about it and do things for yourself.

i dont mean to give un-solicited advice, but if u havent already, i would really recommend asking ur doctor about gallstones/gallbladder disease or polyps. so many times issues with the gallbladder are mis-diagnosed as IBS, especially with women. wishing you well!

I am an introvert too. I couldn’t do the PTA. Too much for me. The Mom’s enjoyed small talk and I just couldn’t do it.
What I did do is volunteer for this one event where I was able to teach kids a craft. I liked that. More up my alley.

Thank you so much Bethany for sharing your experience with postpartum. So many ladies deal with this (in silence) and don't realize what is happening to them. While people are so quick to judge a woman for feeling the way she does, they don't understand she needs help and little empathy. 🙏

I'm so glad you are taking care of yourself. Take it from someone who always put herself last it takes a toll. Remember you are worth it and take care of yourself.
You are blessed to have a husband who helps. My daughter was 2.5 years old when our twin boys were born and my husband had the attitude that his sleep was more important because he made the most money. The boys didn't sleep through the night until they were 6 years old. I would get up with them 9 times in a night and went to work the next day.

Wonderful video, I wish more moms understood this. Society tells us tha being a mom, especially if you are a SAHM, is just totally giving up on yourself and that is such a terrible thing to make moms think so I love seeing positive things like this. For me, one of the things that I really like to do is focus on my skincare and I'm in love with the Korean 10 step routine, it works wonders!
And you are so right about what a huge blessing it would be to have a partner that helps you out; I've been in and out of the hospital most of this year and I just come home to a huge mess so I have to stress over how to clean the house while recovering from surgery and what not because I get no help whatsoever so it really is a huge thing.

My baby is 15 days old and this video hits. My postpartum hit me so hard that I had to discontinue breastfeeding so I can treat my mental health needs. After my baby and I were released from the hospital (nicu) a few days later I was in the ICU. I didn’t rest after my C-section and the level of guilt I felt for having to be I the icu was insane. Thank you for bringing light to this topic. Love you!

Perfect for taking the kids to the Dr. Going to a PTA meeting. Etc! Good for you about focusing on self care! You need to take care of yourself, so you can take care of everyone else you need to. Being a young mommy it’s a big job just in itself and you have a full plate. It’s wonderful to know your husband helps out so much but one thing to remember is to carve out some just mommy daddy time just the two of you enjoyed watching this video even though I’m a retired grandmother.
