OMG I love this remix. I can't stop listening to it. I have been that way with the original "Goodbye Horses" for over 20 years since I first saw "The Silence of the Lambs", but I keep my ears peeled for the rare excellent remix or cover that will keep my favorite song fresh forever. This, right here, is one of those. This is superb.
I love the deeper meaning of these lyrics: the chorus of this song is a reference to the Hindu text Bhagavad Gita, in which the five horses that pull Krishna and Pandava prince Arjuna's chariot which are symbols of the five senses. These five senses keep us tied to the physical/material plane of existence. When you can transcend the limitations of these senses and achieve a higher level of consciousness, you are leaving the "horses" behind - "flying over them." The song is about someone who was so affected by (A loss? A breakup?); they decide to give up the things that keep them tied to this world by emotion.
Hoo, hoo-hoo, hoo-hoo Goodbye Horses... He told me, I seen you rise But, it always falls. I see him come, I see him go. He says, "All things pass, into the night" And I say, "Oh no sir, I must say, you're wrong I must disagree, oh no sir, I must say, you're wrong" A won't you listen to me. He told me, I've seen it all before I've been there I've seen my hopes and dreams a-lying on the ground. I've seen the sky just begin to fall He says, "All things pass, into the night" And I say, "Oh no sir, I must say you're wrong I must disagree, oh no sir, I must say you're wrong" Won't you listen to me? Or to simplify the meaning of the song vs the reference material. Is that the song is song through the perspective of a ghost saying that their is more to life to a cynic. The reference correct just not the interpretation
picture this: 18 year old a fresh out of high school graduate, still living with pops until he moves out into a duplex with two best friends for college in fall. the girl he's with for the summer doesn't really love him and he doesn't really love her either, they know once summer is over and reality strikes this act is over. each night he smokes his weed, sleeping on the futon in the sun porch of his dad's hose listening to this song along with the crickets outside. he knows nothing of what the song is really about, he just knows that goodbye horses by Tone of Arc was the anthem of this summer. thanks for reading. this is 24 year old "he" writing now while sad drunk on a Tuesday night. the true meaning of this song makes me want to weep holy fuck is goodbye horses amazing thank you Q and tone of arc wow
Happy to be the one who gave first LIKE and probably read. Its a sad story. Whats even sadder is that you already feel down while you are just 24, am 29 and its been ups and downs, both emotionaly and economic. It sounded fantastic until they got to the chorus. 'Lyin' over you'? Wtf? Talk about missing the whole point of the song.

Absolutely! I run to the original, and when I get those endorphins pumping I am flying over those horses!

Cool cover, but sort of an epic fail that they got the lyrics wrong. The chorus is, "Goodbye horses, I'm *flying* over you..." flying, not lying.

I'm sure it's not a fuck up. It's called creativity.
In fairness, Q does sing it a bit oddly on the original and it's hard to make out the F.
