This is my arrangement of "Tower in the Sky" from Crystalis! The original track was composed by Yoko Osaka. In this remix, I tried to enhance the feelings of action, fun and mystery associated with this song! This track was nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. I could imagine this playing if someone made a crystalis movie! I eould love that!
New music from Rebecca equals a good day.
Ah Crystalis, one of the under appreciated classics.
It definitely was one of my favorites.
This and Zelda 2 were always my favorites on the NES. After playing the recent Zelda 2 remaster someone did, I decided to try my own hand at game programming, and I'm trying to remaster Crystalis, but not sure I have what it takes to finish it. It always bothered me that this game didn't get more love.
One game that's still on my bucket list.
The experience may fall below expectations in the gaming climate of modern day. For its time though, this was an action adventure experience that was just shy of Secret of Mana in terms of scope and variety. Lovely graphics for an 8 bit game, wonderful gameplay design, sprawling, intimidating dungeons that tested the most battle hardened vets without being infuriating, and THE SOUNDTRACK just pumped and had you sprinting through this world to the next main goal the whole time. It was an underappreciated NES GEM!
yeah I'd love a link's awakening style remake cus it's... rough around the edges by modern standards
I agree with all of that!
It is a good game, but unless you like retro games it'll be a bit lackluster. Mid to late 90s running an emulator with it would've been the prime time playing it because the original had no way to save your progress, not even a password system, so you had to beat the entire game in one go. The emulator having save states would fix that problem, and then at this point in time it wouldn't have been too much of a downgrade in terms of graphics or "modern" game design. Nowadays it has to be your kind of thing to enjoy properly. All that being said yeah it's a good game that I'll remember fondly.
It's been so long since I played, I couldn't remember the story, so I'm playing it again now! Thanks for sharing
This one unlocked a long sealed
memory and gave me something new to enjoy… thank you.
You're very welcome, and thank you!
I love this game.
Very relaxing music
Uwah! Surprising from the start! Though I know your knack for reinventing themes by now! Feels idyllic, while retaining that mechanical undertone! And quite active--as one needs to be while getting up that Tower!
Thanks! ^_^
Loved this game, thank you
Oh wow!!! Now this certainly takes me back to my diaper days! God, I miss my childhood everyday! Thank you for always bringing back the beautiful sound of nostalgia! ☺️
I love your music, Rebecca. I'm also looking forward to your next scripted video.
Thank you! ^_^ I'm not sure if the Chrono Cross or Tears of the Kingdom analysis will be first!
I never even knew this game existed! Your remix sounds awesome! ^^
It's kind of obscure, but very cool. Thanks!
Beautiful
Thanks!
Crystalis love! Awesome! This game felt essential to the NES library back in the day, but so few remember it now.
What kind of game was it?
@@Jason75913 It's a top-down action RPG like Zelda, but I wouldn't call it a clone. It did a lot of its own things. Great soundtrack and a lot of Ghibli influences as well (especially Nausicaä).
A lovely, joyful piece xx
Many thanks! :D
I am yet to play Crystalis, actually, but I love this song anyway just for how beautiful it sounds!
This game was wild dude. Beautiful rendition
Absolutely among my favorites as a game and soundtrack! Thank you. So lovely to hear this in your style Rebecca! I pray you cover more songs from this game, especially the town theme :)
Thanks so much!
CRYSTALIS!?
YOU MADE SOMETHING FROM CRYSTALIS!?
I hope you liked it, haha!
