John Cena (2008): Most surprising Edge (2020): Most emotional CM Punk (2023): Most unreal Randy Orton (2023): Most satisfying Added: Roman Reigns (2024): Most thrilling
CM Punk's WWE return was definitely the most shocking, but for me, Edge's return at the 2020 Rumble was easily the most *emotional* return. I was most definitely an Edge (and by extension, Christian) mark growing up as a wrestling fan, and the moment his music hit, I was genuinely near the point of tears I was beyond happy.
I was still in the military and deployed in the Middle East when we were all huddled around the tv in our common room when the Hardy Boyz song hit, we all went apeshit! lol good times
I've said it before, I'll say it again, Edge's return in 2020 just hit different to everyone, including him. You can see it, you can feel it, the chills get to me EVERY time. And I was never that big and Edge fan but that return just... whew.
Only CM Punk's AEW return can rival the raw emotion of Edges RR return. Mostly because more time was allotted to Punks segment and he had more time to bask and the feeling sink in. Same it didn't work out over there but glad he's back home.
When Randy Orton got out to the ring during that rumble, he looked right at Edge and was just like "Holy shit, you look great." I think that was a great moment too, the fact that two good friends were finally working in the same match again.
@@juhblaze I dunno, Edge came out to a big, emotional standing ovation and then immediately gave four back-to-back spears to show he was back for real. Pretty good stuff all around.
@@r.f.switch5847 Yea I hear you but being a RR match return, Edges entrance was relatively quick. With Punk you could bask in the feeling and it being a Chicago crowd, not was it a crazy pop, you could feel the genuine love.
Wrestling is one of the best forms of escapism. I love how just a simple return of your favorite wrestlers can make grown men and women feel like kids again. You love to see it.
Yea unless they do some mini returns here and there so it's like they never left and then try and playoff the big return as if they've gone for 15 years
I laughed at shook my head. "What a joke," I thought. Dude spent 10 years crapping on the company, gets himself fired from another one, and now has nowhere else to turn but to go crawling back. It was embarrassing. And then he goes on and gets injured almost right away 😂
The best thing about wrestling is it is an escape from reality and it takes us back to a simpler time of our youth. Man, I need to find a bar in Philly that hosts PLEs so I can be surrounded by this energy!
The Hardy Boyz' return was seriously awesome because I lived 7 miles away from the Citrus Bowl and you could hear the pop from THERE. Not nearly as much as the sirens for the OPD motorcycle cops escorting Trips down to the ring, but still.
Remember when Shawn Michaels played Brett Hart’s entrance music, and then laughed hysterically when the crown went crazy but Brett wasn’t really there. Hilarious. 😂
It's not easy to make big, grown men shriek and act like kids again but wrestling has made it a habit of doing it to its fans. The pure joy and excitement will always be the same regardless if the fan is 13 or 30 or heck, maybe even 60. It's good to see that on these moments, we were not alone in being kids again. We are never and we will never be alone, in these moments. Thank you @wrestling flashback for this!
Every great come back is the best intro music. Stone Cole the glass, Edge you think ya know me, Jericho count down, CM Punks shhhh. You hear it instantly pop
its nearly 3 am, and i remembered most of the returns, here i am screaming at my 30s so happy seeing so many old people screaming like me, the emotions we all share man.... Literally shared a tear, what a great compilation video

I love how before the titantron showed the CM Punk logo, people were like “who tf is this?” Then that lightning bolt showed up and the guitar riff hit and everyone lost it😂
Alot of people might not really understand this, but its a little different depending how much a fan knows about the business. For example: when edge returned at rumble, most of the crowd was just happy that edge was back, but to few it was much more than that. Way more. When u get addicted to pop and heat, and u live for it for a living and put ur whole life into hitting the curtain....then one day ur told by doctors that ull never be able to do it again, fans miss the character. And then after years, u train and surgeries and recover and then get cleared to do it again, and getting to hit that curtain to a huge pop, it was pretty emotional for the ones that understand in a split second what it had to of taken for that moment to happen at that time, it was like oh my gah wow. Wow. Wow. Oh my gah, adam is getting to do this again.
I'm a huge Punk fan, but imo Edge return is top 1 for me cuz no one expect him to return while Punk on the other hand was around and had return to wrestling industry before wwe. Once he leave aew, we all expect/hope that hhh would sign him.
Bray Wyatt should have been in this but this list was amazing. So many emotional, shocking, surprising(the list could go on) returns. I remember every single one of them. The reactions were priceless
What a wonderful video, thanks for collecting those things of beauty together, and for the opportunity to relive those moments once again with other great people!🙌🙌🙌
Bro Edges return gets me every single time I watch it. I remember it happened on my 27th birthday and I legit almost had panic attack. He’s been my favorite of all time ever since I could remember I started watching around the time he first made his debut in 98. When he returned I just remember me not knowing what was happening, when I finally realized it was happening my whole body went numb and I just broke down crying
I was there to watch Edge return and when I tell you the building was shaking OMG one of the best surprises I ever had the privilege to be a part of, my video is somewhere on my YT channel and man... not a single dry eye in the building.
CM Punk was the most shocking by far. Most emotional was Edge for a plethora of reasons. Considering what had happened to Edge and for him to come back from, all of that was enough. Also, from my perspective, what i had personally went through at that time made it even more emotional. Another thing that people dont probably remember was that we lost The Black Mamba Kobe Bryant. So yeah, Edge returning helped a lil
Yeah that day is one I’m gonna remember forever for the good and awful things on that day definitely Edges return with the fan dangling the Kobe Jersey I get choked up just remember that
I was right on the edge of the entrance ramp when Rock returned in 2011. They drew his entrance music starting up by what felt like 3 minutes. This was before the lights started to go out, the arena was nuts. As amazing the return was and the experience of being part of it, drawn out teases are the worst 🫢😂🎣
The most emotional for me was Edge’s 2020 return but that Goddamn CM PUNK return was LEGENDARY It was 6 AM from where i live and i was soooooo disappointed he did not return and got up my bed to go to work Until suddenly i heard that Mic zit and i was running around like a child 😂❤

He's been gone for almost 10 years and all of a sudden at the end of Survivor Series, he shows up out of nowhere!! Everyone's reactions are completely understandable. HOLY SHIT!
Gone from WWE, but he was with AEW and just fired, so not really a shock that he showed up. The shocking thing is all the WWE fans that talked crap about him while in AEW were now jerking off to him. 😅
Bayley's 2022 SummerSlam return when she formed Damage CTRL could've been an Honorable Mention. I was there in Nashville for that one. Definitely stands out in my mind

I think the pop for Punk would have been crazier if it was done at a Royal Rumble. It was still crazy regardless.
I agree, however, reasoning behind this return is justified. the longer the wait, then there more than likely would’ve been leak potential.
I read Rumble was the plan, but they were worried his return would be leaked, so it got bumped up.
