I totally get his mentality. The receipts are not only a way to correct bad form (Taker is notorious for wanting to teach people how to properly work) but it's also a way to keep things light and fair. You know when you pick up a foreign object, you could seriously harm someone, and knowing that you could have that receipt coming makes it even more serious for the wrestler using the prop.
With the dead man's tendency for no-selling, I'm surprised more people didn't shoot on him. That being said, the undertaker is a professional. His main concern is putting on a good show. Thats why I respect him. And when he does dish out some pain, it's not career ending.

Not only would I shit myself right there and then but every second spent with the undertaker in the ring would be some of the most anxiety inducing moments of anyone's life.

Mark Calaway has older brothers. One brother, Mike, worked at the largest auto dealership in Grand Forks, ND, and would stop for a 6-pack of beer some evenings at the Rite Spot liquor store. Stevie Richards has stated in numerous interviews that it wasn't a receipt. He's also said that JBL told him to make it believable and lay it in. He laid it in too hard and he was legitimately worried that he may have injured JBL(who by the way told him after not to dispute with people that it was a receipt which is why the rumor went so far)
@@sabotagethefool In the interview I saw Stevie said Blue wasn't exactly sad but he didn't say he was happy. In other words he was eluding to Blue being happy
@@johnjly5295 He had to be happy, many people said JBL was a bully, clearly even when he was Bradshaw too he was very violently minded. Unfortunately he got in tight with the high ups and no one in WWE bothered to humble him.
13:13 cracks me up. Seeing Bubba and JBL laugh about beating the living shit out of each other shows just how dedicated to the craft they are. JBL gets smashed with a 2x4 so hard he loses feeling in his extremities, Acolytes return the favor by denting 55 gallon drums over the Dudley's, then they shake hands, then years later they laugh their asses of about it. God damn I love wrestling. 🤘
As Bubba and D'Von recount the story. They came into WWE and were booked with the Acolytes, knowing full well that Ron and John were going to be stiff because of what happened with the Public Enemy. The plan was 2x4s but as Bubba says, "To hit someone with a 2x4, make it look good and not hurt them is very hard to do because it's such an awkward thing." so they went to Ron Simmons and asked him, "Hey Mr. Simmons, you know instead of 2x4's we were thinking..." and Ron just cut them off and said, "You do know how to work a 2x4 don't you?" they just said, "Yes sir Mr. Simmons" and walked away. Bubba pulled D'von aside and said, "We're not working shit. Hit them as hard as you can and we'll deal with it later" because he knew they were gonna beat the shit out of them. Right after this, they got up, went back to the locker room, shook hands and said thank you and everything was cool.

The Vader/Michaels story really got to me and just shows the horrible and painful effects of bullying. Vader from those interview clips seems like a genuinely decent human being. But even a 400+ lb behemoth of a man who is so tough that he literally finished a match with his eyeball sticking out wasn’t immune to emotional abuse and was left crying from the toxic bullying of Michaels that was further condoned by WWE leadership. It’s sad that his career pretty much got derailed by one petty individual. No wonder Michaels found God. I found this one quote from Jim Cornette that pretty sums it up about Michaels: “And if you found God, that’s generally because I’ve noticed, people in this business that find God do so when everybody else hates them so bad they won’t speak to ’em.” RIP Vader.
This is the main reason Cornette hates HBK so much. He's told the story before how much that interaction hurt Vader and Cornette never forgave HBK for it.
you know, I like to think there's an alternate timeline somewhere where after that kick to head Vader gets up and spends like 10 minutes just beating the breaks off of HBK
Yes but, Vader went from that to his very best run of his Career in Japan. Barn burner matches every one of them, until he won the Triple Crown. Amazing amazing run. Vader was built for Japan's hard style. Saved his faith in the business.
the kofi vs orton one is probably the most famous case of orton's horrific anger management ruining a very minimal thing. orton wanted to use the punt but kofi forgot whether it was the rko finish or the punt finish so set himself up for the rko instead, and as such orton dumpstered kofi's career up to that point. one of the dumbest moments in wrestling history
Iirc, at that time, Orton Punt Kick is heavily protected where no wreslte can come back wrestling in a few weeks after receiving it. The plan is for Kofi to receive Punt Kick only to back wrestling in a week or two, showing how strong he is. Thus, Kofi's mistake actually changes the intended storyline
When he was really green, in AWA I believe, he got stiff with Bruiser Brody and tried to call the match. Brody didn't take too kindly to this and simply had his way with him. Needless to say he learned from the best. lol
The dude dropping charges so New Jack would go on to work with him... just to have New Jack just ditch him is actually hilarious 😂. What an awful human being through and through
The thing with Nia was she had injured a few women already by this incident and supposedly laughed it off because she was being protected by the Rock who we all know is her cousin. Charlotte was the women's locker room leader and dealt with it in the ring since Jaxx wouldn't even talk to her back stage. Jaxx injured Kairi once being unsafe, when Kairi came back she was given a welcome back concussion by none other than Jaxx which helped make her decision to leave the WWE even easier since Nia was so protected and couldn't be touched.
This is how much Haku is feared: Rikishi moves the wrong way, it’s Haku’s kick that gets him in the face, but he beats up the other guy ‘cause he knows he can’t stiff Haku or Rikishi will just die 😂😂😂

The fact the Nasty Boys and Hall/Nash were beating the shit out of each other in a tag team 3 way match that also involved Ming, and they were all smart enough to make sure they were still nice to Ming, says a lot.
I will defend Vader in the Shawn Michaels match Vader was not used to going that fast and Shawn was know for being hard to work with in the back and making guys look bad in the ring and vince feed into it.
HBK flat out didn't want to work with Vader, and refused to put him over. Then he buried him, and killed his monster push, all because Vader was "snug". Poor Baby Shawn.
@@JustinCarbaugh Shawn single-handedly ruined Vader's WWF run. Vader was basically set to become champion, and have a monster run with the belt. But instead, HBK didn't like that he was stiff, so he cried to Vince, and next thing you know, Vader starts getting booked like a joke. Disgraceful.
Fun fact, stevie richards has come out in recent years debunking the revenge theory surrounding his chair shot to Bradshaw. As the story goes Bradshaw told richards to swing the chair hard. Following this he was confronted by the Deadman who wanted to clear up any possible locker room drama. Richards then informed taker of what had gone down and insured that nothing of taht nature had taken pkace taht night. Ironically, after this Richards was told by Bradshaw that he should do local press claiming that he did it on purpose which gained him heat with the undertaker. After the appearances he was onve again confronted by taker who was only convinced that Richards hadn't done anything in spite of his comments when both Stevie and JBL informed taker of the gull story. Im sorry to anyone who loves this story of heightened drama, but unfortunately its just one of those tall tales in wrestling.

14:28 the way Nia did that though was really unprofessional. Like you could tell it turned into one of those “punk you” situations but it was a wrestling match, not at some bar. She should have went right back into character after the “receipt” but she didn’t. Weak.
Rock had her back so she was acting like an jackass and being built with the strength of a bulldozer compared to the other girls it was easy for her to throw her weight around. Would like to see if she would do the same to Stamina Snuka or Awesome Kong for example.
New Jack said he was trying to throw Grimes from the scaffolding to the floor. But in another interview I watched he said he was actually aiming to throw him into the ring post. I actually believe that because of how close he came to the ring post.
On the Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold and Kurt Angle, he explained the event a little better that Eddie’s heart wasn’t good. No one knew, not even Eddie himself knew why he could get up to speed as he should in the ring. After that match he was pissed off and took it out on Kurt thinking he was stiffing him, pushed him three times, and tried to double hook Kurt. Same scuffle Kurt got the little man’s syndrome when Big Show grabbed him by the back of his tights with one arm to separate both Eddie and Kurt. Kurt says “Don’t you ever grab me by my tights again!” Then they went fighting again a second time with Big Show breaking it up a second time! 🤣 Sad part is that if Eddie saw the symptoms before hand of his heart giving out during the matches when we saw the moments in matches of him having that far away look early in matches he could’ve lasted several more years with a heart transplant.
Imagine someone accidentally stiffing you, someone who's usually very respectful and you set out to the hurt them just because. Except you're doing it on purpose. Kinda weak really.
Exactly! I mean it's one thing if someone has a reputation for being an unsafe worker or does it on purpose for whatever reasons, but when it happens accidentally with no ill intent whatsoever and you still want to give them a receipt, I find the whole thing somewhat petty and vengeful.
To JBL's credit, he knew that receipt was coming and it was well deserved, Stood in there and took it like he should have. Best WWE receipt of all time imo
If Smackdown was The Rock's show then WWE Metal was definitely the Perry Saturn Show. That match where he freaked out for no reason is the ONLY reason anyone remembers that show
Idk. Listen to brisco and Bradshaw podcast where they interview Stan. Seems like he pretty much admits the near sighted thing was a myth. He just knocked the snot out of people by my understanding because that's what the fans wanted to see and that's what made him money.
*Ahmed Johnson is the worst wrestler to ever lace a pair of boots, he legit injured multiple stars & Simmons just showed him how it feels, clearly that didn't work as Johnson is remembered as what he was, a juiced up bodybuilder & not a legend of ANY era.*
Nope. The Ahmed one isn’t all the way true. Farooq got his ribs broken by Ahmed prior to their match. That’s how it started. Ahmed claiming that spine buster was the receipt, isn’t true. That kick to his ribs was. If you watch the first kick Ahmed does to him, it’s brutal. You can see why homeboy kicked him in the kidneys.
I'll never be complicit with "revenge" but Ahmed was notoriously an asshole and had a reputation for being dangerous to work with. He tried to pick a fight backstage with HHH, he tried to pill Mark Henry when they were out to dinner, there isn't a wrestler alive that worked with him that has anything good to say about him. As Mark Henry recounts it on Stone Cold's podcast, which if you haven't listened to you should, just search Mark Henry Ron Simmons; Ahmed kicked Ron Simmons and lacerated his liver shelving him for 9 months. After 9 months when Ron came back the card was Ron Simmons v Ahmed Johnson, he beat Ahmed so bad he ran him out of the business. Ahmed was crazy over due to his physique and intensity but he was carried by his opponents and wasn't a good enough wrestler to go to WCW, so he ended up leaving the business entirely
Farooq was the one that got kicked in the liver and had to get surgery. When he came back, he beat the shit out of Ahmed and basically sent him to WCW.
Rikishi deserved major receipts of his own for that. HE is the one that messed up the choreography and got himself kicked in the face. No one was being stiff with him. Even if they were he handed out about 10 receipts there.
With Rikishi, he should have known by the type of kick Haku was throwing from Haku’s right leg, that Rikishi should have went LEFT. He deliberately put his face in the path of Haku’s foot from his own ignorance. I guarantee Haku threw that same foot the same way every time. Rikishi was having a pity party because he was ignorant and ignorance is not an excuse.
I almost hurt myself trying to angle my arm back the way Kurts was in that hold and my shoulder and forearm started to sting so i cant imagine the pain

Thankfully, no matter how you slice it, (pun intended) I'm honestly glad that some of the kayfabe curtains were lifted because we get to prove to the uninitiated that yes, while most of wrestling is scripted, it for DAMN SURE ain't no ballet.
I know a dude who set up for WWF in the early 2000's. Don't get me wrong, it's only news from the grapevine, but he told me Vader is quite the dickhead. So gonna guess Vader had 3 of 3 of these coming to him.

I came here to say this, it was 100% not a receipt, and JBL’s “fault” it was as stiff as it was. He was completely owed a receipt though.
@@sabotagethefool even though he was owed it was absolutely unintentional as Stevie prides himself in being safe.
@@johnjly5295 Yeah I’ve seen a few of his videos and he seems a really cool dude. Bet Blue was very happy seeing the chair shot all the same lol.
The undertaker giving back the receipt was more terrifying considering his character.
"That's some great/funny Ish, Pal !" - Vincent K. McMahon, Jr.
There is an important thing to remember that Bubba says...they were "Shoot" 55 Gallon Drums...so Aluminum Shells.
I never get tired of watching how fast The New Day hits the ring when Brett got tackled. They were out for blood.
I love how Jericho's "receipts" hurt but are mostly harmless compared to other wrestlers' receipts that are just concussion-makers. Jericho's the GOAT
Correct
You get a concussion, you give a concussion. Nothing less.
you mean kicking someone full-force with a flying headkick is not "concussion-maker" ?
Jericho is experiencing a LIFE receipt! And it's WAY PAST time.
Jericho literally asked for another and got what he wanted and gave a receipt
Taker is old school and one of the most respected wrestlers of all time. He is tough but fair. My favorite of all time. I remember when he first started lol.
He might not have even needed a heart transplant. If he had been diagnosed before he died simply retiring from wrestling and receiving treatment and medication or surgical repair could have extended his life by 20 years or more .. most heart conditions can be managed without needing a transplant.
New jack was a unsafe hothead.
"Unsafe" is literally an understatement. He was a criminal. Glad he's taking a dirt nap.

I found this one quote from Jim Cornette that pretty sums it up about Michaels:
“And if you found God, that’s generally because I’ve noticed, people in this business that find God do so when everybody else hates them so bad they won’t speak to ’em.”
RIP Vader.
This is the main reason Cornette hates HBK so much. He's told the story before how much that interaction hurt Vader and Cornette never forgave HBK for it.
We're all sinners, my friend. We all do shit we aren't proud of. HBK seems to genuinely regret how much of a dick he was.
@@filmgeekstudios4393 And? Free to get hate for his action. If someone murdered an innocent person and changed they're not free from their actions.
you know, I like to think there's an alternate timeline somewhere where after that kick to head Vader gets up and spends like 10 minutes just beating the breaks off of HBK

Love how several of these are from the Undertaker, but none of them are _on_ him. Man doesn't make these kinds of mistakes!

I will defend Vader in the Shawn Michaels match Vader was not used to going that fast and Shawn was know for being hard to work with in the back and making guys look bad in the ring and vince feed into it.

@@addorsubtract650 Okay, but Benoit wasn't a bully inside the ring, outside of the Puder incident, for which you have to blame Eddie as well.
Either way he for sure attempted murder on that day 💀
Randy done that shit to Taker and had the cheek to call Kofi Stupid😂😂😂
On the Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold and Kurt Angle, he explained the event a little better that Eddie’s heart wasn’t good. No one knew, not even Eddie himself knew why he could get up to speed as he should in the ring. After that match he was pissed off and took it out on Kurt thinking he was stiffing him, pushed him three times, and tried to double hook Kurt.
Same scuffle Kurt got the little man’s syndrome when Big Show grabbed him by the back of his tights with one arm to separate both Eddie and Kurt. Kurt says “Don’t you ever grab me by my tights again!”
Then they went fighting again a second time with Big Show breaking it up a second time! 🤣
Sad part is that if Eddie saw the symptoms before hand of his heart giving out during the matches when we saw the moments in matches of him having that far away look early in matches he could’ve lasted several more years with a heart transplant.
The first 4 being Taker is golden 😂
Nia Jax? Being involved in a miscommunication, a fight, and being unprofessional? Colour me surprised!

Stan Hansen worked stiff because he’s near sighted & had trouble judging how close his opponent was. He’s nearly blind. True story
Idk. Listen to brisco and Bradshaw podcast where they interview Stan. Seems like he pretty much admits the near sighted thing was a myth. He just knocked the snot out of people by my understanding because that's what the fans wanted to see and that's what made him money.
I remember Orton yelling Stupid over and over at Kofe. I assumed it was in the script.
Imagine being the cop arresting new Jack and then watching “tribute to new jack” 😂
potatoed by haku then beats up the other guy lol what a tough guy that rikishi
Farooq was the one that got kicked in the liver and had to get surgery. When he came back, he beat the shit out of Ahmed and basically sent him to WCW.
"JBL heard Blue Meanie say he was a bully, and in order to get back at him he decided to prove him right"
Rikishi deserved major receipts of his own for that.
