Thank you for showing what an actual tar pit looks like. I e always wanted to see one. I know it just looks like some muddy water in a puddle, but knowing it’s a tar pit makes it exciting.

I went there this year of June with my family for our vacation to California and since I was a huge fan of Ice Age mammals especially mammoths I was so excited to be there especially seeing the skeletons of the Ice Age creatures

Wow! That’s amazing. I took some time to talk the staff there during my tour and I was very impressed. Our tour guide also was extremely knowledgeable.

I've lived in LA and as much of a science geek as I am, I never went.

I recommend taking the tour it’s free and I learned a lot that day even though I’ve been there many times before.

Thank you for the amazing video. Did you book online or pay at the counter? I couldn't see any option on the website to book online. Your video has made me want to visit 😮

I paid at the counter. You don’t need a reservation or anything just show up whenever you want. if you want to do the tour they have 3 per day the schedule is on the website, the cost is included in your ticket price so you just meet at the museum entrance at the tour start time. Have fun! 🤩

I went there in 2022. Remains pulled from the pits aren't fossils, but the actual bone. For something to fossilize it takes millions of years. The mammals from La Brea are only in the thousands of years old.
