    • @seanswinton6242
      @seanswinton6242 9 месяцев назад +4

      @@stevenkarner6872 Ah yes! I'm a saxophonist and I love it. Saxy was my nickname. To me, the saxophone is like the human voice. It can make you laugh, it can make you smile, cry, and it also sets a mood. The sax is versatile enough to fit in almost every musical genre. I'm blessed to be able to play by ear and this was one those songs since the Alto and Baritone saxes are basically identical except is size, mouthpieces, and tone. In HS when the Band Director chose this song and needed a volunteer to play this, I did. I knew the recorded version, but quickly adapted to her new arrangement. It was fun. I recommend Gerry Mulligan, Nick Brignola, Tom Scott (session work), Doc Kupka (Tower Of Power) Jim Horn (session work), and James Carter (he like Tom Scott) plays the 4 main saxophones, and Lars Gullin are the best examples on baritone sax. For swooning the ladies, I recommend "The Real Quietstorm" by James Carter. The baritone saxophone there will blow you away. Also his bass clarinet. Check it out.

    I remember this one being all over the radio when it was a hit - roughly around late 1975, early '76. It's not a disco song per se, but it was a product of the disco era and had some of the same production features heard on early disco records, such as strings, horns and prominent percussion. I imagine that it was produced to fit in with the disco pop sounds of the time in order to get airplay - and obviously it worked.

    I’ll always remember this song as one of the ones that used to be played over the loudspeaker at my sleepaway camp to wake campers up to start the day…back in the 70’s 😅

    This is what I noticed about the men who react this song. They are not much into just listening to it. But put on the video with her singing, they are in Love with the song. Or is it looking at her. When I saw that it was audio only, I knew it wouldn't ne Jay's cup of tea.🤣🤣🤣

    When I first heard this record on the radio, I thought that this was an obscure early-1960s girl group Rock song produced by Phil Spector. It is a great song by Maxine Nightingale.

    Great reaction, Jay and Amber! I can remember when my friends and I used to go roller skating to this song back in 1975. I was 14 years old at the time and it had such a lively beat. I wish that you could know how it felt at that time. People were different. Kids were more innocent and, naive than they are, now. There was another song that you should listen to and that is, Lead Me On.

    3 years and still can't get but one of these women on female Fridays! Where's Soul Train when you need it? Come on Amber and give these awesome soul singers some love at least once.... Check out Stephanie Mills hits "I Feel Good All Over" " Comfort Of A Man" and the duet with Teddy Pendergrass "Feel the Fire" Still waiting on you to do other awesome soul singers like Phyllis Hyman(Living All Alone) and the most powerful singer Jennifer Holliday(And I'm Telling You) Betty Wright "No Pain No Gain" Lisa Fisher "How Do I Ease the Pain" Sylvia "Pillow Talk" Angela Winbush "Angel" Evelyn Champaign King "Shame"

    Strobe lights and disco balls......parties on the weekends. Was a fun time. The music was upbeat and jammin' and we knew all the dance moves.
    Music like this I great for dancing around the house while cleaning or exercising or with the kids. It's happy music.

    Along with ABBA's "Dancing Queen", this tune was always played by late-night talk show host Art Bell on his radio program. It was one of his standard choices for bumper music!

    Loved the comment about disco balls being a 70's only thing. Here is Australia, they never disappeared. My favourite pub (bar) in town still has a big old 3 foot disco ball proudly hung about the main dance floor.

    This was featured in the hockey classic Slapshot (1977). I know Jordan's into sports movies so that'd be a great one to react to!

    Esta cancion fue en 1975 , posicion #2 en US Billboard Charts . Lo sorprendente es que participaron 2 ex Electric Light Orchestra , en guitar bass Michael de Alburquerque y en Violin Wilf Gibson.
    Saludos y buena reaccion.
