Idea for the ground floor: you could make it a jeweler or a souvenir shop that sells products to the tourists in the base hotel.
I have been using the trapdoors ceiling trick for a long time, I’ve also mixed it with full block, slabs, and trapdoor floors to add extra depth to the floors of my buildings.
I think the modern architecture on top of unchanged historic buildings reminds me of Half-Life 2, and how the Combine would attach their futuristic alien technology to already existing structures.
That's me playing minecraft as well.
Chill time listening to something necessary and minecrafting just in the background and boom - I just made a new building.

Great question, it depends on the building. In this one, yes, they use the same doors & elevators but have a keycard or fob to access their floor

most of those windows have balconies outside, why have a crane for washing them? sick build tho
Possibly for the windows that can’t be reached, or maintenance on the exposed sides of the building where there’s just an open exterior wall.

I don’t like this trend of distinct modern building built on top or attached to older buildings. I get it, it’s like a compromise to conserve history whilst accommodating growth but at the end of the day it’s still just ugly.
Art deco skyscrapers should make a comeback.

As it is a Hotel, i think it would be cool to have some kind of car rental place, or tourism guided shop idea, in case you guys dont have those around that area

Merging historic environment with new design is something that isn't seen all too much on Minecraft and having just come back from cloudy Manhatten myself Hearst Tower is my personal favourite in this category - even if it does practice facadism; although I adore what they did on that occasion.
If I would learn architecture, your degree or profession, facultation whatever it is called in English would the one that I would be the most interested is, and such conservation and modification would be really good fir Budapest too, or most of the Hungarian cities

One of my professors had to leave for 3 weeks and was on an expedition in the Amazon Rainforest, he took a helicopter and hiked like 2 days in the jungle to get to old ruins. Pretty crazy. He also showed us a video afterwards of him in a helicopter as they flew THROUGH a circular rock formation. Pretty insane lmao

Depends on your definition, I typically see that anything above 200 meters is a "skyscraper", but that's not a term used in the building code. Here in Canada, for the structural building code, a "high-rise" is anything above 60 meters tall

great vid! just an idea here. would it be possible to use item frames with a white map for example as apart of the ceiling where you would want to have a hanging light fixture? And then move whatever material you would want there with world edit? (havent used world edit in a while so if im wrong sorry)
