Great vid but he didn't touch the braking. It's another point where F1 cars outright murder any other opponent. You'll understand a lot more when reacting to races or drivers. Cheers. P.S: You've invaded by pr0n spams.
Why would Scott mention braking in a video about speed? But in a way he did when he compared lap times because late braking and cornering speed is more important than outright top speed to do a fast lap around Spa.
really dope seeing y'all get into F1, i'm a recent F1 fan myself, started following Sept. last year. The other car series mentioned on that vid are definitely something to maybe look at and follow in the future. From the list the video gave, not only do i really like F1, but also IndyCar, Rally racing, Endurance/GT racing (from the list this includes Hypercar, LMP2, GTE and kinda GT3, it's complicated), MotoGP, and even NASCAR. I seen y'all watch a couple rally racing vids, which is dope to see, maybe some other racing series have the potential to capture your interest as well :)
the cars hit about 200-210 MPH they do get above 300 KMH (Kilometers per hour), a Kilometer is smaller than a Mile, so 100 in MPH (Miles per Hour) is about 160 KMH (Kilometers per hour)
First time commenting, have been on the journey with y’all from day one, but I must say this consistency recently is💯, really happy, plus congrats on the baby Nick
The old LMP1 hybrid category was even quicker than the one used on that video. Before the 2019 changes, LMP1 hybrid had 650 BHP in the engine + 400 in the electric motors. Now they're limited to 650 regardless of whether they use an ICE alone or an ICE + electric. You guys should check the 919 EVO Hybrid around nurburgring. They took out the fuel and electric power output restrictions, took away an extra 40 kg from the car and made the aerodynamics slippier but stronger at top speeds and that thing is the stuff from nightmares at acceleration.
August 28th. Race at Spa-francorchamps, Belgian grand prix. The circuit in the video. 9am sunday on espn or espn2. One of the best circuits in F1 and an overall legendary circuit
The top race speed of a formula 1 car is 223mph (360kph) Although Valtteri Bottas currently holds the record for the highest speed in an F1 race, hitting 372.5km/h (231.4mph) in the 2016 Mexican Grand Prix. The fastest a Formula 1 car has ever done is 246.9mph (397.36kph) acheived at Bonneville Salt Flats.
This video kind of missed the point of F1 cars. NOTHING can come close around a full lap because they corner like nothing else. The straight line speed is impressive but when you’re cornering at over 100mph then you’re going really fast.
Been into F1 since 2009, and I started karting that same year hehe, still a dream to race pro but F1 is out of the picture. Hope you guys enjoy this sport as much as I have!! Shouts out from Miami

You gotta watch nascar the 2022 season has been pretty good and if the current nascar cars had unrestricted engines they could get up to like 245mph I think but current engine package probably has a top speed around 200 which really only happen at Daytona and Talladega
Yeah, I wonder how the new Generation 7 car would do. Cars are much more aeorodynamic now and much, much faster on road courses, as it was developed mainly on road courses .
Very cool you guys are learning this stuff! You guys should check out the Netflix Formula 1 doc series Drive To Survive....the sport has gotten much more popular the last few years (especially in USA) because of the show.
What is really special about F1 is the braking cornering speed and acceleration. And an F1 could theoretically drive upside-down due to the massive amount of downforce generated pushing the car down. They are like airplane wings but instead of pushing up to fly they push down against ground.
2:45 Hypercars and LMP2 are not GTs, they are prototype, also, the car that he shows when sayin LMP2 is an Hypercar, just wanted to give some clarifications
This vid is full or misinformations tho . GTE is significantly faster than nascar on track . They've both raced on the same track and GTE was faster , they've mixed up Hypercar and Lmp1 wich means Hypercar doens't actually have the best acceleration and there's absolutely no way FE would be faster than GT's around spa .
@@flo6119 yeah exactly . I mean it's pretty standards infos too . Everyone who watches or knows a little about WEC knows that Hypercar can't use the hybrid systeme at low speed

If you guys think F1 is great at the corners, you should watch them braking. They are the best card on the brakes with maybe -4G. There are double cars in which a professional driver drives someone around (usually a celebrity) and the thing that gets them all is when they brake before entering a corner. Almost snaps the neck of untrained people. So acceleration is impressive, especially between 100-280kph. Cornering speed is unmatched by any other car, but the brakes are insane. All to bring the brakes to the optimum temperature so he could outbrake Hamilton in the first corner. So brakes> corner speed> acceleration > topspeed.
