Not going to lie here, I have been struggling mentally fighting Bipolar Disorder among many other mental health disorders for decades. Just recently I started taking an honest, and I mean real honest, look at myself, my behaviors, my thought patterns etc so I can pinpoint my weaknesses and work on strengthening myself as an individual to become the healthiest, happiest and mentally stable version of myself. During my deep introspection, I realized that I rely SO heavily on external validation from others because I severely lack the self-confidence in myself and my decision making abilities. The last two days I have been watching lots of videos specifically on self, internal validation and why it's so essential. I have been a big fan of Caskey for three years now and he just shared this video 4 hours ago. It's like the universe is sending me signs through synchronicities like this. He says "validate yourself on how genuine you are with your creation, the habits that you have and the type of character that you have." Thank you for the lesson/reminder Caskey and I will work more on putting this into practice!! 🙏🏼

The past 2 car rants are also my only exposures. I plan to listen to the music this week at the gym to try it out, but these sobriety and validation and personal improvement talks are exactly what I need. 799 days sober, tomorrow marks a solid 8 bills.

Great sincerity you were definitely called and on the days that you're too human and don't feel called, rewatch this for yourself. This is what people need to hear from their "idols". It doesn't always have to be positive but it always has to be genuine.
Seeing you with growth as an artist listening since homegrown. Which I was like 13. Now 26, this was the most refreshing thing I needed to hear kinda living in the wish I woulda phase. I wish I did a lot of things but this music and mentality spreads through all of our creative minds. I never painted a day in my life. I saw the skulls you painted and I instantly fell in love. Every one of em different just like us. I sold my painting for 1,300. My artwork literally put food on the table after being inspired.
The beautiful thing about this is that it is just as healing for yourself to speak as much as it is for us listening. Stoked to have you step up for the men who need this moving into the new year ❤️

I relate to the song ‘Cleaning out my closet’’ where you said, if it wasn’t for that kid, I wouldn’t have survived! Well, that actually happened for real, when I was in kindergarten!!…. Definitely need to work on myself more. I’m trapped in this entire persona of imposter syndrome with my craft like I know myself but I truly feel like I haven’t come to a point in life to where I want to validate myself for who I am rather than what I wish I was.

I just spent like 30 mins in the whip with my wife explaining to her how an artist is always seeking validation and how it causes me so much conflict in my brain. I’ve taken steps back wondering how to do this all the right way. I told her I have so much respect for an artist when RUclips recommends them to me, and the video has very little views. And I came to the conclusion, why should I give a fuck about anything anyone says, and I shouldn’t even trip on the numbers because the only thing that really matters is the fact that I will leave something behind on this earth after I die. Then I see a caskey video, watch it, and hit up your page and I see this. Bro thank you. I opened up for you in San Diego like 8 years ago or somethin we got a pic 😂 before the face tats. But fr. I believe music is for the soul to allow the different emotions and struggles to be released through the lyrics of artists. The lyrics saying what we can’t say or are afraid to say out loud. That connection is a gift so thank you for sharing your struggles and your soul with us. I struggled for a while on exactly what you were speaking of “validation” and so someone told me to read the book, The Four agreements” it was spot on for what I was struggling with and I think you would enjoy the book as well.

Man I reminds me of last year on new years at the emerson in Indianapolis. I opened up the show with a solo set as Trehan and later with The sex waffles. In between that you had some down time between your set and the music video shoot. I sat with you and tasty and me and you had drawn an art piece together signed by all the artists on the show in Florescent so the signatures were hidden. I charish that memory and how personal our interaction was. How you carry yourself is admirable. We have our own venue in indy now and have grown so much since then. For me as an artist I get my validation getting to perform even if I'm alone or in front of 10000 people I feel the whole world dissappear. Theirs no me just music.
Please keep making these, as an up and coming RUclipsr I constantly compare myself to other creators who are more successful than me. But I know if I keep grinding and enjoying the process I will reach success. I'm close and I know it's going to feel so good when I get there because I've been patient with myself and even when I've wanted to quit I kept going. These types of videos definitely help though so like I said keep making them man 👍🏻
