Grew up down the street from Brandon Caskey, went to elementary school with him and ended up washing dishes at Tuscany's Italian restaurant that was on our neighborhood. I remember finishing a shift and taking the trash out and he always had a blunt rolled in his ear and we smoked out behind work. Amazing seeing where he is now

It's people like you.. Hip-hop isn't traditionally part of white culture so yes when a white dude comes along with skills it's OK to point that out. Just as its OK to say hip-hop has cultural significance in the black community. Being surprised by something out of the ordinary doesn't make you a racist. This has gone of forever with art forms developed and fostered by specific cultures then practiced but people outside of that culture.. Like a westerner that's a good Thai boxer, an American that's a good insert any ethic cuisine chef, etc. For a lot of people it's a compliment to hear that you're doing justice to an art form that isn't part of your own culture. You respect that art form and know it's roots so being accepted into that culture is an honor.
