I am a Californian native, I remember when it was safe to go to Hollywood, I remember when it was safe to go to downtown LA or San Francisco. I remember when you could let your kids go to school or wander the neighborhood and not worry about their safety or what they're teaching them. But after 65 years, I've had enough, and I'm planning on leaving my beloved state. Because the liberals that have governed, the liberals that were supposed to preserve it have destroyed the beauty, the vitality, and the spirit of the once Golden State.
I could have sworn that cbs said last month that the governor of California is doing a good job. I left a critical comment in a video stating he wasn’t doing a good job and theres a huge homeless problem. Someone said the governor was doing great and that there’s less homeless now. Imagine lying about the governor.
Not a very deep analysis for a person who leaves critical comments and does not even question why “homelessness” is a state of being in society.
It is a crime what the state of Missouri is doing to this man. How is this possible in the United States. What is the holdup for freeing an innocent person. He's nearing 2/3 of his life being incarcerated because of bureaucracy/politics. The public pretender that represented him should serve the time that he caused this man to do and he should be disbarred.
I did volunteer work in Skid Row 2023 November. The homeless population there is very ill mentally. Many of these individuals will not be able to stand on their own two feet even if they were given the opportunity to. Many of them NEED long-term psychiatric care, not living on the streets.

There's a proposition for bringing back psychiatric hospital care in Ca. on the ballot.

I've been here in ca 5 years faced with extortion stalking gang terror while I go to work.
The problem is the cartel and how the local government enables these people. I've seen gang member get out of prson and get rewarded with ssdi or an easy job housing and benefits while they laugh and mock me starving on the streets going to work being homeless.

Huge problems but I would pin homelessness on the production of single family homes made possible by government, developers, and banks.
Homelessness is the expulsion of people from the land and these three institutions are engaged in a process of making money that the land becomes pivotal and critical to that accumulation of capital. It is this trinity of big business that has free reign over the markets and is solely responsible for a mass deprivation of the American people.

Conduct daily in-person pop up forums, clinics, haircuts, job assistance, etc. (volunteer professionals) in the middle of the street in skid row really get to know them. Present mental health, the Cartels fenty drug war thats killing them, barriers to employment, and provide on the spot access to resources, group discussions on their impact and importance of their contribution to society. Spend the $$$ on legit resources with centers staffed by volunteers. Get in their face and stay there. Show some interest and compassion. It wont help everyone.
