Two things here, Alexis didn't lead her team to a NCAA elite eight when she was the main player, hvl did that. hvl is a better player. nah all around she's not. Alexis is not a better shooter she just had a better team around her, which you just kinda admitted to by saying hvl efficiency will get better, why ? because now she has a all around better team around her teams can't just focus on her
HVL’s efficiency numbers are kind of misleading because defenses would throw everything at her to stop her from scoring, and she didn’t have another good offensive player that she could rely on consistently to take the pressure off. She’s also in a better overall conference than LSU and facing better offenses & defenses on a weekly basis. Plus, I don’t think people are saying “super team” just because of HVL. I think it also has to do with their number one rated recruiting class coming in.
Now you know I looked at all the numbers 😊 but yeah the efficiency dropped against tougher teams but it's not like she went james harden and disappeared from still getting buckets against that tough sc defense when nobody else including angel could get off to clutch freethrows against Utah set the tone against Miami and we know what happened down the stretch against Iowa less efficient but still showed up in big moments . This was less about Haliey and more about not over looking a great come back story. And lsu became such a cultural phenomenon post championship that most people that I was talking about aren't even aware of the incoming class or how good they are
Lith coming to LSU not to replace Alexisvshe can't she going to LSU to develop the point guard skills Morris had under coach Mulky. Van Lith is a shooting guard who needs point guard skills to play at the next level thats why you come and play for a coach who was a point guard.
I think she ring chasing as she should development idk alexis was talking like she hadn't been properly developed for the next level but hvl more useful off ball mikaylah a better point . Their offense was pretty basic most of the year they sit Two bigs in the paint point just dribbles up top angel have a seal don't get it pass to corner if it's closed out hit paint or go back up top or work the pick drive or take a mid for all this talent they will need more off ball action
Van Lith will be fine, but we need to see what they get outta their new freshman recruits & the returning bench players. Someone has to step up & help the star players by becoming a focus of coaches. I'm not sure how Van Lith & Flau'Jae work as a backcourt, though?
If it's me mikaylah at the 1 she would be setting everything up to start hvl off ball I think with Mikaylah's size and allaround game that she will draw the best perimeter defender making it easier for hvl to get off . They just have to let her get comfortable she's much more laid back & innocent but I just wonder how that mixes with the others and whether they will give her the green light early. I also would like to see them run lineups with del Rosario at the 5 to stretch the floor mikaylah at the 4 flau 3 hvl & Poole back court so it's wide open but these are good problems for Kim I just wonder how she would balance it all. You would bring all the freshman off the bench ?
@@Hoopgalleryusa why would I start Williams when she is a ball dominant player and have her fighting with hvl & morrow & Reese & Johnson to get shots when I can have her in a six man role which is good for her where she can be in a Jamal Crawford type of role and let her just go score and keep the lead in games when the stars sit ? it be seeming like y'all think this is 2k. Poole would be better starting in the backcourt in certain lineups with hvl because she doesn't really need the ball that much she can spot up and be a secondary ball handler and setup hvl too for open shots
@Reid Wilson she's better than all of them complete skill set with size she should transfer if that's even suggested she'll draw the best perimeter defenders making it easier for hvl I understand what you're saying but I just wouldn't & she's just as good on the catch and shoot doesn't have to dominate the ball
