Matt from BB19 could’ve been on this list as well. He was considered a favorite to win the game along with Christmas but just became one of Paul’s minions
Bella had the potential to be a great player- she could have used her connections across the house to completely run the show. In the end she went down because she needed the bullies’ approval
This list is perfectly timed for me, as I was just thinking the other day about how hard we whiffed on Winston and Jack in back to back seasons. I just remember thinking Winston was the chalk pick, taking him first, and then feeling all the air leave the BB fandom room when his video package came up on the premiere. He wasn’t a bad dude like Jack, but definitely not what we expected. But yeah. Pretty perfect list, honestly.
Oh not that I am ever right with my pre-game pick to win (except in BB5 when by dumb luck I did pick the winner) but I was sure Winston would win or at least make final 4. Boy did I call that wrong.
The preseason of Big Brother has lowkey become my favorite part of every season now. Before the season officially begins, you can root for literally ANYBODY in the cast. And nobody in the cast has had a chance to do/say anything to even disappoint me, yet. =3
I think he was! IIRC, I saw a lot of posts thinking he was going to be a well-rounded, social player winning a lot of comps. Yeah, not much of that actually happened when he got into the house.
When BB23 cast was announced I really wanted Derek F to go far and Derek X to go home first. Boy did that do a 180. DX for life! Also I was really rooting for Baleigh to win BB 20 preseason, until her hoh. She wasn’t unlikeable just a really bad player.
i remember stanning bella hard during the preseason and being so disappointed when we really got into the game. i still have some memes of her. i was also a preseason raven stan 😮💨
I predicted Jack correctly right off the bat, but even in the first week of the show, I still had Bella as one of my top favorites 😪 can’t believe she made me look like a clown. And I still don’t understand how Tommy was so well liked in BB21. Everyone chose to ignore his role in the bedroom fiasco, and he just felt completely fake an disingenuous through the whole season.
Omfg I remember Analyse being my favorite pre-season & me hating Kathryn so much 😭 Gosh was I wrong. Also tbh, I'm kinda enjoying this (seemingly) late cast reveal, I feel like not having a large already formed opinion on the players will be quite refreshing
Having only participated in 1 pre season so far, how incredibly off I was on both Dereks will never cease to amaze me. I thought Derek X was a super fan because of his Dr.Will reference and he ended up never watching the show before and Derek F was one of my top picks because I thought he would be hilarious and a great player and that definitely didnt pan out
I have alopecia & when I saw Christie on the cast list I genuinely broke out into tears. I even posted about it & lowkey went viral on bb twitter because of it. Over time, she annoyed me like everyone else & I was actually soooo happy that Claire replaced her. Sometimes the excitement of representation takes over. Like a lot of people were excited about DF because he was a gay, plus size, black man & that was something no one had seen on the show before. So similar to me, as happy as I was to see representation it doesn’t hold up if the person is a flop lol
I was so excited when I saw DF was cast, and I was instantly rooting for him as a gay man from philly. and then by like week 2 we were all done with him since he turned out to be garbage

Nicole and David both ruined their BB legacies doing All-Stars. David revealed himself to be a fame-chaser who really wanted to do Love Island first, but they passed because he was basically out of shape. Nicole allowed herself to be manipulated and weaponized against Janelle, someone who genuinely wanted to help and work with her. Nicole went from America's Favorite to most disliked in a matter of a couple months.
I fell out when someone on Twitter called Christmas, Felon Navidad! I loved me some Victor!!! The battle back king! Yeah, that Jack guy and the other Jack made me stop watching 21, the racist of the raciest season.
I also wanna point out BBCAN has a LOT of options for this list. Players like Angie, Kyle, and Carol from BBCAN8, Kyle, Marty and Kevin from BBCAN10, Merron and Veronica from BBCAN6, Mark, Karen, and Kevin from BBCAN5, and so many more

I had really bad vibes about Kyle on BBCAN8 because he reminded me way to much of a roommate of mine that had a similar background story, but was SUPER emotionally unstable and emotionally abusive to me. Watching him on the show gave me PTSD. Kyle from BBCAN10 has to be the BIGGEST flop though! What a major turn for the worst! It was incredibly entertaining to watch on the feeds though. I was glued to the computer for days on end watching it all unravel. Also, I still think some Canadians need to be removed from the country for voting Marty as Canada's Favourite Player. Those voter's were blasphemous!

Regarding the Marty thing, out east coasters ALWAYS vote their their representatives on a season, regardless of whether or not they're a good player. That's why he got he safety as well. Of course, there were probably 5+ players from Ontario which split their votes. No one was from Saskatchewan. Alberta and BC had a few but more so vote for their actual favorite. I almost think Canada's votes don't matter because the East coast players always win them.

I do a pool with my co-worker and we always choose two pre-season winner picks. If they make the final 3 we get bonus points. My first choice was Holly, which I felt pretty good about all throughout the season (despite her relationship with Jackson.) My second choice was Analyse, but I chose her because I had a feeling she would get carried to the end and lose, but I'd still get the bonus points. Lol. My read on her was spot on, so I was surprised to see in this video that pre-season she was one of the top favourites to win.

8:28 i think what happened with bella was everyone was expecting Jun 2.0 and i will say based on her preseason interviews it seems like it was gonna be that way. however i do think that people also saw asian, petty JUN SONG which definitely didn’t help bella. add her actions in the bb house and it was just a disaster.

I was surprised that Janelle wasn't mentioned. I don't remember anyone liking her pre-season and within a few weeks mostly everyone called her Queen Janey. Maybe this guy has only seen the last 6 seasons or something...
Not saying Travis will be a racist (seems a bit unfair to paint someone with that before the show even starts. That just feels like you are looking for someone to judge so you can prop yourself up). But like with most first boots, we really don't know what they would have become hsad they lasted longer, as we barely get a chance to know them. More true when we didn't get day 1 feeds, but even with them people are still getting used to BB and for all we know had Travis survived week 1 he could have gone on to become as loved as Derrick or the next great villain.

Then there are the players who don't destroy their reputations in the house but are very hyped pre-season only to just not be there long and not do much. One that comes to mind is Angie from BB10, who had lots of buzz, then was on the wrong side of the house for her month or so there and didn't seem all that interested. I mostly remember her tanning. (admittedly if she had ever been in the right alliance or even a few different HOH wins she might have had a whole different outlook on the game). I have a vague memory of Lydia being well-liked pre-season as well.
Yeah, this really shows that we should keep an open mind about players not being like their pregame promos! I remember BB21, too, and was also so wrong about at least half of them 😂. Including some not even in your list. Same with BBCAN8 after that. It's made me step away from much of the pregame stuff, it's not as reliable to go off of as we think. Even if they initially live up to their reputations, the sheer amount of time they spend in the house can also change how they act or play a lot.
i know you talked about half of the bb21 cast but i was really low on jessica. i kinda saw her as a loud person who annoyed me, and i knew i wouldve disliked her if i was in the house (bb21 was my 2nd live season and my 1st season with feeds) and i think she’s the one post season i keep up with the most.
We’re only going back to BB18? I understand your logic, but It’s not an accurate poll. There were ways you could have included every season. Example: Season 5. The twins were faves in the beginning and very much disliked in the end. Nokomis was disliked in the beginning and a legend at the end.

i know you talked about half of the bb21 cast but i was really low on jessica. i kinda saw her as a loud person who annoyed me, and i knew i wouldve disliked her if i was in the house (bb21 was my 2nd live season and my 1st season with feeds) and i think she’s the one post season i keep up with the most.

We’re only going back to BB18? I understand your logic, but It’s not an accurate poll. There were ways you could have included every season. Example: Season 5. The twins were faves in the beginning and very much disliked in the end. Nokomis was disliked in the beginning and a legend at the end.
Remember Melissa giving David that score on RHAP. I love Melissa, but even I thought she was tripping. Sorry, can't give someone 7 that hasn't been tested in the actual game. Anything 5+ is totally out of the question.
