I know, and I loved Cliff's game! I wanted him or Nicole to win and honestly, he just suddenly lost his mind and trusted Jackson, ruining his game and Nicole's. What a terrible move.
If Cliff didn’t sway Nicole to keep Holly, he would’ve played one of the better games in seasons. But one blunder really derailed his game and how he’s viewed by fans.

Nicole was my favorite player this season and, like you, she was the main reason I wanted to keep watching. I'm disappointed she didn't win, but she did deserve America's favorite so I'm glad she won that.

I hope you aren't talking about the "bullying" incident, because everyone already knew that. The only reason that meeting took place was so that they could cover their asses. The six shooters couldn't risk pissing off Nick and Bella, and then having someone being put up. And Nick and Bella couldn't risk "loosing" the six shooters. Everyone, except Bella knew that the entire meeting was BS.

The season built a bad reputation for itself out of the gate, but rewarded those who stuck with it to the end with an exciting jury phase

TheToasterbox big brother finales have always been bad, but the way they handled this one was just classless.
@@eagann92 the switching of the comps so that the favorites had no chancr wad pretty underhanded of the producers. They wanted their roasting of Jackson in the finale and stole money from Cliff and Nicole to do it

Kaitlyn Bannon right, and it’s not like production definitely doesn’t plan out the expenses, blueprints and ideas for competitions weeks-months in advance. They all just collectively sit on their Jackson michie bean bag chairs sipping out of their Jackson michie mugs and vote on a good competition for him the night before

The reason the finale sucked in my eyes was because before the episode started everyone and they moms knew Jackson was gonna win... should've gotten rid of the showmance when they had the chance.. i blame cliff

Nicole was always a subpar player. Not really all-star material at all. Nicole fans just can’t admit she sucks-if she really wanted to she could’ve convinced cliff to flip but she was too wishy washy.
Razar Lamps I think it was a 50/50 move imo. If Tommy got into the final 2 he would have won against anybody except for maybe Nicole and I think he would still beat her. But voting out Holly would have been Cliff and Nicole’s best shot at winning it’s unfortunate that’s how both their games were ruined after final 4

that little nicole montage at the end made my heart go 🥰🥰 she truly made this season bearable in every way, and although she took 3rd she took 1st in our hearts! you make some very valid points on how this season should definitely make the producers go “hmm maybe we should change things up” let’s hope for next summer 🤞🏼🤞🏼

That is only because of who was at the end with Jackson. The jury say Tommy, Cliff, Christie, and maybe even Nicole beat him, so he would have lost to a bitter jury had he taken anyone else.

watching the season you can tell how good of a game nick was actually playing. had a good relationship with everyone. christie just saw herself on the block and decided to make it known. nick was a solid player.

Honestly that argument between Tommy and Michie broke my heart. I didn't really like Jackson's personality all too much but him doing that to Tommy was especially hard to watch, seeing Tommy cry and yell like that as of he was completely powerless. Then seeing Michie cry for doing it later on was equally as upsetting because first it was the first time he cried or showed any heart and you can just tell it was eating him up inside

I think one of the biggest things that needs to be revamped about Big Brother is the editing. The refrain from so many TV-onlys has been "why did Julie ambush Jackson on finale night?" And while that's a dumb question, I get where it's coming from. BB made a conscious decision to initially heap all of the awful stuff that Jack and Jackson did on Jack only. Yes, he was called out when he was evicted but I have a strong feeling that if the roles were reversed, everything would have been dumped on Jackson halfway through the game. BB wanted one of the pretty boys to be the scapegoat and the other pretty boy to get a golden edit going forward and they did NOT care which one it was. As soon as Jack left, Jackson got his silly cliche video package and his watermelon video package in order to pump him up as likable again. To me, while I'm glad he got called out on finale night, by waiting to do it until then and not showing much of his bad behavior before, it made BB and CBS come off as disingenuous.
This all speaks to the bigger issue of Big Brother. We're in an era now where they're more concerned with sound bites and incidents than overall characters. Every diary room session that talks about them as players is overly produced and edited to be quotable. Too many DRs are just the contestants narrating the competitions. We need more footage of the players just being themselves so we can form our own opinions as opposed to manipulative, cutesy tags that are forced onto the players like "Hoggfather" or leaning too heavily into "conspiring bitches". Catchphrases are not a suitable substitution for character.
As far as the finale goes, I'm with Perdiam. Go into the finale with the final two already determined and already having been questioned in depth by the jury. Show a shortened video of that and have a winner crowned within the first forty minutes. Bring the players out. Have them chat for the rest of the show. Then give us America's Favorite Player as the bow. Seeing part three play out live, having a final juror with no chance to participate in the round table, and giving each finalist the same three, generic questions each season (while Julie is constantly interrupting because the timing is ridiculous) is silly. A show that lasts three months shouldn't have it's finale that rushed.
As far as shortening the season goes? I could take it or leave it. A couple fewer weeks wouldn't kill the show but I also don't think shortening it is necessary. I actually might toss in one or two MORE players, eliminate the idea of anyone ever returning, and then just do multiple double evictions - or the BB7 sped up week - on the back end in order to keep the home stretch more chaotic.
BB is still one of the unique, fun games on television. That's especially true if you can wade through the toxic online community that is often just as bad if not worse than the players it complains about. But so much of the heart has been stripped away in favor of overly produced wackiness and it feels like the community has responded in kind. Players like Nicole shouldn't be a breath of fresh air; they should be the norm.
P.S. Casting also needs to be more diverse. It isn't just the culture of the U.S. that allowed BB15 and BB21 to happen. Casting knows who they're putting in that house and the stock decisions that they make allow stuff like these seasons to happen. If they cast with the "let's get the best people we can regardless" mentality that they did for CBB, we'd end up with much better houseguests.
The biggest reason to revamp the Finale can be shown so well with the Dan vs Ian finale. Julie was constantly cutting Dan's answers off from time constraints, but really, they've been playing the game for over 3 months, so expecting the F2 to explain their game to the jury in just a few minutes is freaking absurd. It makes the jury segment pretty much meaningless. Survivor juries get to talk to the F2/3 for several hours by contrast.
I disagree. Big Brother was protecting Jackson way more than Jack. Even just the warnings about what the live streamers were seeing. It really got blatant when he was a have not and everyone clearly saw him sneaking food in the bathroom, and BB did nothing.
@@darksaint0124 That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that, let's say when Jack and Jackson are on the block, the house decides to evict Jackson. I'm saying that chances are BB would have had Julie confront him about the stuff going on in the house to pacify the live feeders and then tried to get the TV onlys on board with Jack.
Yes, Jackson was the better choice from their perspective since he was easier to spin as their golden boy, but they were going to spin whomever survived as a golden boy regardless because they feel like they have to have that character. That's the issue.
@@Captain_Subpar and I'm saying that I doubt it would have happened. Remember Jack got better as the game went along and actually had people in the house that generally liked being around him. I'm saying this and I couldn't stand Jack from day 1. Jackson could only win with this cast, his social game alone would be enough to sink him on any other season. Honestly, if the cast of next season is as bad as this latest batch in the house, I might be officially done with this show that I've watched since BB3.

I stopped watching the show after Kemi got evicted but I kept up with the show on twitter to make sure my girl Nicole was doin good lmao
edit: i agree kemi is a terrible player and no, she was not my favorite to win. around the time she got evicted, the amount of bullying that took place was disgusting. “Gr8ful” made the entire show insufferable, so i stopped watching.

production protected Jackson in every aspect of the game. With comps, his TV edit, being a have not. But people who are not as invested in the show and only watch the TV edited version are not getting the full truth. They are seeing things on a surface level.

BB19 and 21 I think are the only ones that I’m not going to be rewatching in the future, I’ve even rewatched 15 lmao.
Joshua G 15 was a perfect season in a gameplay perspective. so exciting from the beginning to final 6
-15 had good gameplay but horrible personalities
-19 was bad on a gameplay level and a personality level
-21 was mediocre in gameplay, but had bad personalities
Nicole and Cliff were the only reason I kept watching the season. Sure some could argue they were bad players, but they were both great people and wished they would have made it to the final 2. Hopefully BB22 is better.

If the show included at least some of the early gross bullying & racially biased play, the casuals would have understood the pre-jurors' conversation. Julie brought up a little in her interviews, but even then, they didn't air enough for context. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, especially this one for your Nicole devotion.

The only comp I would really want them to keep is Hide and Go Veto. I’d also want to see Otev as a host again, but for a different comp. I switched who I was rooting through a lot, but I’m happy with Michie winning in the end.

I honestly don't think this season will be remembered with any reverence, and it feels to me like the post jury only felt so strong because it was refreshing to be out of that hellish pre-jury phase. While it may be an unfair comparison to make, even the most impressive moves and most complex strategic decisions from BB21 were at best on par with middling analogues from a season like BB14. I think a lot of that is derived from a cast that was severely reticent to engage with the very core of the game- often citing "playing too hard" as a rationale for wanting to evict a particular person, and with over half of the cast never making an impactful individual decision that left any impression of note. The constant repetition of the phrase "doing what's best for MY game" started to ring hollow almost instantly, and by the end merely felt like a deflection of an inability to make the smarter but more difficult decision.
The casting an production teams need to do everything in their power to try to ensure that the next batch of contestants demonstrably have the basic strategic sense and sufficient gameplay instincts to take initiative and break the mold for themselves when it is in their best interests to have it broken. And more importantly, can they please PLEASE stop the contestants from making shoutouts when making eviction votes? It is the most dramatic and important part of the show, and if the players can't be bothered to act like it matters, why should we? Nothing undermines the tone more than every single cast member placing more focus on saying hi to their friends than removing someone from the game.

@Dan Chai Mocha Paul was great in his first season and completely punchable his second. Jack could never command that kind of loyalty.
Paul is one of the best BB players of all time, Jack is merely a footnote. (I feel guilty mentioning the in the same sentence from a game player perspective)

The finales have been rushed for years. There is no reason to still have 3 people in the house going into finale night.
Also, I would LOVE to see them all come back after they've had a chance to watch the season. They could easily fill an hour with the houseguests talking about the season.

This season wasn't as bad as I thought that it was gonna be, but being straight-up, I really didn't like it overall.
All of the great gameplay in the world couldn't save this season from it's God-awful casting, and though I also love Nicole, when the entire quality of a season hinges off of one or two players, you've already lost it at that.
Great review though, and good on you for being so forgiving. I, especially given the ending, just can't bring myself to feel the same way.
I legitimately feel, overall (pre-jury and post-jury) this was one of the most entertaining seasons period. Obviously it was heartbreaking to watch some of the behavior, but it was excellent and compelling television. Season was like a 9/10.

i was watching some of the behind the scene youtube videos and mechie was talking to kat about jessica and he said that jessica should go back to mexico and go play in the street so he lied to live national television about being sexist and racist so i do not think mechie should’ve won
The Big Brother staff kept getting on to him and Jack for it so they both knew.
I have never in my life given up on a season but I couldn’t do it after week 2, and seeing the results I’m not sure if I will ever take the time to go back but thank you for doing this, bb is my fave and it was just super disappointing this year.
Haven't even watched the whole video yet, but that throwback BB intro was great and hit me right in the nostalgia.

Maggie, and Lisa were both saved by a vote during their seasons off the top of my head. Rachel was saved by Pandora’s box on the week she was supposed to go out. There’s definitely others

Evel Dick got saved by America’s player, Rachel was one vote away from getting evicted on Kalia’s double eviction HOH and was saved by Pandora’s Box, and Nicole was pretty close to going home on the first day bc her team lost all those competitions and had to compete in the coconut comp (not entirely her fault, plus she was the first one done in the coco comp and convinced the other two to let her have the HOH, so good on her)

The most upsetting thing when they covered Nicole's bullying... If I'm not mistaken the girls DID say to Nicole "Bella is a bully" and then when it was brought up all three of them lied and said they never said that. Nicole kept repeating everything they said word for word back and they didn't want to get caught backstabbing so they blamed her.
They did already ask Jack about his racial jokes and comments. They just didn't have time to talk to Jackson because he was final 2. They did similar stuff in BB15 where they interviewed house guests on the bad things they said and did. I feel like they've always done it. I don't understand how BB fans are even shocked they brought it up? And keep saying it's never been done??
Nicole, Jessica, Cliff and Kat We're the only reason people were watching this show, unless they just wanted to see Jackson get sent home

Adam S I respect them all as game players but the things they said on a personal level really stuck with me. For example I personally respect Jackson’s game play and he deserved the win but I wish sometimes before he spoke cruelly about someone that he’d reconsider his words:)
I thought tommy played an honorable and loyal game personally, I liked Ovi but his manic nature in the beginning made it a little hard to connect with him but him standing up for Nicole was really nice to watch to show at least someone had some common sympathy and humanity. I thought Kat was loyal but also honest so I liked her. I laughed every time I saw Bella’s face on the intro after she was evicted because I disliked her so much .I didn’t like how Julie tried to paint Jack as a bad guy, he said some things that weren’t right but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad person at all and she also changed the evictions to where people watching couldn’t see the good bye messages. Also the race thing for Michie during the finale was so awful because it took away from Michie’s win and he earned every dollar and she didn’t ask Bella once about her awful actions and actually attempted to make her a victim of a totally different subject

The first couple weeks were T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. The perverted behavior of BB9, the derogatory behavior of BB15, and the mob mentality behavior of BB19 all combined into one gigantic mess. After that though, it did get better. The changing alliances, uncertain votes, and fights helped. Also, much like BB20, I’ll give credit that a good number of DR’s this season felt authentic. Sure, we had some of the typical, “This challenge is A LOT harder than it looks…” and people yelling, but there were times where you could tell it was people just genuinely talking. Do I still think this is a bottom tier season? Yes, the horrible beginning and flat ending hurt it too much, the bad behavior from a number of houseguests can’t be ignored, the twists added nothing, and the fact that ‘have nots’ were scrapped after two weeks and nothing replaced it is ridiculous (and the less said about one houseguest cheating as a ‘have not’ and receiving no punishment, despite him denying he ever cheated in post-show interviews, the better). In all fairness, it’s definitely not in my bottom three. Despite being an unpleasant combination of them at the beginning, BB9, BB15, and BB19 are still easily the three worst seasons for me.
Agreed, I think this season got so much hate at the start that people kept the mindset that it was awful throughout the entire game, even though there was some solid gameplay coming down the stretch

I didnt watch the live feeds so I am not sure, but the way it was edited for TV they made it seem like Nicole was the one deciding and Cliff would go along with her decision
