It was really her bright red lips which drew me to her, and the clothes that she came with. And yes, all in all she is in great shape. I'm delighted with her.
She looks fab and I totally agree with you about dolls who smile too much. Your comment that she could cut you is very funny 🤣. I have a vintage Sindy though I need to clean her up a bit and have a small repro Sindy collection stashed in a cupboard. One day I'll sort out a proper display! Enjoy your new, very pretty, doll.
Thank you. Yes, I'm not a fan of smilie dolls, I find them a bit creepy. I'm really pleased with my vintage girl, that's not to say I wouldn't consider getting another if the right one came along - maybe a brunette to contrast with the blonde.
It looks like she’d cut you😂😂😂😂 Yes I prefer this look also. The big smiles and all those bright teeth are more scary than a doll that looks like she wants to cut you!
Too smilie people also give me the creeps. There's something really false with dolls (and people) who are constantly grinning - it can be quite sinister. Reminds me of a famous quote by iconic silent movie actress Louise Brooks: "I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you, it will be with a knife."
@@Equestrianmommy I've probably seen that episode of Twilight Zone but I can't remember it specifically. I used to watch reruns which were shown overnight on a tv channel along with all the old classic black and white horrors from the 30s/40s (Bela Lugosi's Dracula etc) when I was in my early teens. The three episodes of TZ that I remember most are probably the same ones that everyone remembers - William Shatner on the plane ("Nightmare at 20,000 Feet"), the episode with Bill Mumy from Lost in Space as a boy who could do anything he thought about ("It's a Good Life") and the one with the pig faced people ("Eye of the Beholder").
So cute! I love her! I got my first Pedigree Sindy recently too - they have such pretty faces! Definitely much cuter before they made her more Barbie-like in the 90s.
This is the Sindy that I remember from my childhood so there's definitely a certain amount of nostalgia there too but she is so pretty. I don't even consider the 90s Sindys as real Sindys as she just looks so very different - she is essentially a completely different doll with the same name. And yes, they Barbie-fied her!
Congrats! What a FIND! ;-) She is lovely and her clothing is great. I do NOT have a Vintage Sindy, but I do have a LOT of Vintage Dolls. I do not mind nicks and scratches on mine. I like the idea that the doll had a childhood, playing with children. ;-)
Very true - although I draw the line at teeth marks I think, but generally you can't expect perfection when they are toys that have been played with by children. They show the scares of life but wear them with pride because it shows that they have been loved. It's nice that they can retire with adult collectors who will dress them nicely and treat them gently in their later years.
Hahaha she would cut you!! 🤣 I do like that look too, much more real 😉 She’s so cute, how lovely to have a real vintage Sindy! Barbie’s sarong looks great with the swimsuit, and her jacket is super! Love the details!!
I really loved the way the swimsuit looked with the sarong for sure. The flower on the swimsuit really went well with the colours in the sarong. And thanks, I really enjoy doing the mini shoots with the dolls for the end of the videos. I'm always really surprised by how well the pictures turn out.
@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisis I was afraid for a second it was going to slide down!😂. Yes, it looks beautiful! If you have a second, head to my channel today for Toddler Tuesday. 😊💕
She is really lovely. I love this era of Sindy. Her clothes are great. I think ‘Kiwi Sindy’ is very similar to her. I’ve shown her on a few of my videos. They photograph so nicely.
Yes! I've seen your Kiwi Sindy quite a few times and the do look pretty identical. They do photograph very nicely. I wonder if the headtilt was pretty unique for a doll back then? I can't remember if Barbie had it or not.
She is adorable, love her jacket the swimsuit and sarong look great together. The trousers look like genuine Sindy as well so think you have been lucky. My nerves were on edge watching you remove the jacket just waiting for a rip!
Watching myself taking the jacket off had me on edge, I'm glad I was gently PULLING it off her - lol. Just like when I was violently shaking her to see if her legs were loose.
I remember playing with my cousin's Sindy when I was growing up as they were the big doll at the time in the UK. I must confess, this is only my first vintage Sindy doll... but my next video will be showing off my second one...
Lovely vintage Sindy 😊 congratulations. I’m still hunting on eBay for one. Her face is really cute 🥰 Enjoyed the photos at the end, the last outfit really suits her 💕
Thank you. Her face was what really caught my eye. The last outfit is my favourite, it was clothes I'd bought for my Blythes off AliExpress - they fit her so well - plus a fabulous matching hat and scarf set which were from Octopudding. Good luck with your search!
She is perfect, my favourite generation. If you get her long boots you will need talc to get them on, it makes a world of difference. Congratulations 🎊
I got some shoes which didn't fit any other dolls but are perfect on her. Would definitely love some boots for her, will keep an eye out - and I already have some talc at the ready!
Oh she is a beauty! And looks to be in great condition too - I like her outfit and the sarong goes really well with her swim suit - the re release sindy clothing fit too - as for shoes they have a unique shape to their feet and I think you might need to buy vintage shoes for her - congratulations on getting her she’s just lovely!
Thank you, and thanks for the shoe tip. I managed to find a pair of sneakers that I'd bought along with other clothes off of AliExpress originally for my Blythe but they didn't fit - luckily they seem to fit Sindy okay!
@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisis I think barbie was the start of the tarty looking dolls, not nice, especially the slutty bratz that followed, Sindy was more wholesome and relatable

Sindy was the British Barbie, I had EVERYTHING sindy in the early 70s, entire bedroom full....wish I had it all now...the Air Hostess was my favourite
Sindys make me feel very nostalgic. I remember Sindy being massive in the 70s, such a shame she ended up getting eclipsed by Barbie.
