Looking forward to the Dolly Pride Parade! 💙💚🏳️🌈
🥰🌈
Congratulations on getting him! I honestly love that this bear exists in the Barbie realm. This is also the base Ken for Mattel designer Carlyle Nuera’s 2024 signature Ken and everyone went crazy for him!! 😉🥰💖
I genuinely had no idea that this face was the same as the Carlyle Nuera Ken! I can definitely see it now that you've said. It is actually amazing how different they can make the various face sculpts look just by giving them different face ups. I actually wish this Ken was a proper bear - they needed to give him body hair and tattoos!
@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisis I totally agree! I would love to see you give him a proper makeover!
If anyone can do it it’s you!! 😍♥️🥰💖💋😘
**wolf whistles** Nice review thank you! Interesting to see the two ken bodies compared. I'm anxiously hoping to get a male smart doll one day, so find myself looking at other male dolls more often too 😆 If I had this guy, I would be tempted to add some body blushing and a little painted hair, and a long hair reroot 🤔 He would probably end up cosplaying too 😆🌈
There are a lot of artists out there who are incredibly adept at creating very realistic looking men from Ken dolls, adding tattoos, giving them face ups and painted on body hair and facial hair etc. This Ken definitely deserves to be Daddy-fied/Bear-ified imo!
I love this ken he is very hard to find! Congratulations 🎊 he is very handsome 😍 ❤❤❤❤
Thank you. I'm glad I got him when I did, the Looks dolls get harder to find after a while, which is a bit scary.
Happy Pride Month! 💙💚🏳️🌈💙💚
I agree, when would you need to use the box again? Maybe if you wanted to resell him?
The stubble is a good touch lol! Flocked! Yes! lol!
The joints are interesting but I guess they need to be like that to pose him. He does remind you of an action doll.
Oh right! I wonder about the clothes-yes a whole other video for that! 💙💚💙💚
I feel as though, out of all the Barbie and Ken dolls that I have, that the Looks dolls would be the ones that I would want to keep hold of. So I think it is time to say goodbye to their boxes, if I needed to sell them later on, they're out of their boxes anyway, so I'm not sure that having the boxes at this stage would make any difference. The articulation of these dolls are great but I do sometimes look at the very obvious joints and they make me think of robots. I do have some new clothes lined up for Buff Ken, so stay tuned for that.
@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisisLooking forward to that! We (me and Gilly) enjoy your videos so much!💚💙
I love this Ken's sculpt. He's got a very realistic and chiseled look. The only down side for this Ken, is to find another outfit for him. I'm hoping for Mattel to produce fashion packs for Ken size like his. As always, I love the montage pictures at the end of your video. There's so much feel to it, I love it ❤❤❤
I have seen people putting him in fashion packs for the Disney ily4EVER boy dolls. I'm doubtful that other Ken clothes will fit him, tops might be okay, but trousers or jeans would have to be quite lose fitting to get over this thighs which are very muscular. Thanks for watching 🥰🌈
Hello friends. Pleased to meet you! The latest series of Barbie and Ken dolls last year are similar to the Mulan and Li Shang dolls when I was a child. The dolls can be bent like a human sitting... Really good toys!
Hello! I do enjoy articulation on dolls, it makes them so much more interesting to photograph. Sitting for dolls can be pretty awkward, that's why just having knee bends - even of they aren't double jointed - can be so important.
His dimples are so cute! 😍
I do like his dimples, I just wish that his face looked less flat.
He does look good 💛
Thanks, on the whole I'm really pleased with him.
I love my "buff Ken", it is nice to have a different body types for the boys, the clothes not the best but ok. I think he is my favourite Ken so far and Barbie thinks so too 😁😁❤❤
I suppose , tbf, the clothes on the Looks doll tend to be simple - even on the Barbies - but it does feel that they don't necessarily know what to dress the Kens in and with this one having a bigger body they went for a very safe option.
The dimples are cute and the hair looks good (perhaps with a touch less gel 😄). I haven't seen those shoes before and wonder if the Real Littles shoes will fit? I definitely prefer the regular and slim Kens to muscly ones but like you said, it's good to have a different type in your collection. Fab photos as always ☺️❤️🥰❤️🤗
They LOVE hair gel, just like I did in the 80s. They seem to gel all the dolls with short hair like this, even the Barbies. I did have some Real Littles shoes, I think the hightops from the range don't fit unless you put a slit down the back. I have a pair of RL high tops on a Barbie Extra at the moment but they are quite big on her.
I’m never sure about the joints on these dolls. I don’t think I like the look of how they are put together. Love the dimples though. Thank you March for sharing and happy pride month ❤❤
Yes, as much as I love being able to pose the dolls - and obviously with the MTM bodies they have amazing poseability - when the joints are exposed they look "robotic" to me. I'm a fan of the face sculpt and the dimples but just wish they took the same amount of trouble as they do with the Looks Barbies.
What a handsome lad. I like his look and hair and love the dimples. I find his outfit underwhelming though. In this case the man wears the clothes rather than the clothes wearing the man! His articulation is a little bit extra? The muscles certainly are. I don’t have any Ken dolls to compare. The doll is very cute. ☺️💕
The dimples are definitely a really nice touch. The outfit is dull, they really don't know what to put the Ken dolls in and opt for very safe options. The articulation is the same as the other Ken Made-To-Move bodies but obviously his physique is a lot bigger. I'm pleased I got him, but I'll be happier when I redress him in something less boring.
Something Ive never got.Why do they make Kens cloths open/close in the back? Guys pants have a natural opening\closing in the front. They could so so much better with the design of all the dolls, but their being cheap! Lets put as little as possible effort in making them than charge you out the ass for something that wouldnt have cost them that much more and made a better product!
@@MrRedboylft It would definitely make sense to have the fastenings of the Ken shirts and pants at the front, especially the shirts, then it could be worn open or layered over a t-shirt. I think with the Looks dolls they are selling the dolls themselves as something special, the clothes feel like an afterthought, although at least with the first wave (and partly the second) they kept to the black and white (and silver) theme so the clothes felt more classic in design. When they started to throw colours at them imo they just made them look cheap.
Is never too much seeing an unboxing of this guy! I love mine so much, congrats on having him. Pictures and videos don't do justice, he's much better looking in real life! But for those who don't have him yet, it was a great video!
Can you please tell me which doll did you use to articulate Fabio? Was the wheelchair tan guy (which I forgot his Fashionista number)?
He is a great doll, but I just wish his hands were less fisty. Yes, it was Fashionista #167 which I used to rebody Fabio.
This is the first time I’ve seen him - he really is very muscly isn’t he - I think the hands are odd like that but your right they do remind me of action man - great review 🥰🥰
I'm sure I heard - from another review of him - that they used the Superman body sculpt for this body, which would make sense I suppose.
I did think he looked like that sculpt
I've never been into buff men, so I naturally prefer the regular Ken. And that Fabio hair! 😂❤
The regular Ken body is plenty buff enough for me. The idea of having a very muscular man in my life is appealing on the one hand... but then I think about all the time they would spend maintaining that kind of physique and it puts me off. I'd rather have someone in my life who I can eat cake with.
@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisis Well thank God for diversity!!
@@MrRedboylft But when do we get a "curvy" Ken!
I completely agree with you about the Looks boxes - when would we ever need them again. He is very muscular - I do like his face though and I think his hair turned out okay (oh I agree with you on the flocking for his stubble - did you see MyFroggyStuff do a flocking kind of stubble on one of the dolls? It came out pretty nice). And also agree with you about both hands being grip hands and how it makes him look more "action figure" than "fashion doll" - odd that they made both hands grip hands. But he's a nice doll! Can't wait to see you redress him! :)
The Looks boxes aren't even that special in themselves. I do keep some boxes, I have all my Blythe boxes stored away. The hands of this doll really annoy me, I'm not sure why they chose to go with this idea, unless they expect him to be constantly flexing all day. I will be doing a redress video for him soonish as I have something that I know will fit him. I doubt he will be wearing much for Dolly Pride Parade though! 😜
I think giving him *one* grippy hand would be a big mistake!

@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisis 😂😂😂
Great review 😊 I guess mine was already very biased. I do think I was simply too disappointed. Honestly they should have made stronger joints for the muscular guys. And I also don't really like the hands. The body is more or less very similar to the male superhero body and I guess they just kept the hands and altered the torso a bit. 😅
I definitely like the standard Ken mtm more.
Yes, I think this is the same body as Mattel's Superman Ken, so I guess the hands make sense for that. I would have preferred the regular Ken hands though. The issues you had were not great, especially the foot coming off, I'm always really scared of that happening so am probably overly cautious about removing shoes on any dolls with ankle articulation.
Honestly, I have a ton of dolls with ankle articulation and this is the first time I broke one. It is all about the pegs and usually even Barbie uses good ones, but I think they are too weak for the amount of plastic the muscular boy has to move while bending his joints 🤣 But surprisingly I got my money back today! I told them that I would not accept the partial refund as solution and they now decided to give back the full amount... that is at least a good thing! But still, I wouldn't buy a buffed Ken 😅
Thank you, we need decent male dolls.
The poseability is amazing for sure, just wish the clothes were more interesting.
@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisis Hopefully the toy companies will realise what we want.
As usual you take a doll I'm not really interested in and make it look interesting! He's got a nice face. Seems he's thinking some deep thoughts. And I love how he seems to really like working out.
I'm not sure what his deep thoughts would be, with all the working out he must do to maintain his muscles, he feels like the ultimate Himbo Ken. Maybe he's thinking about protein shakes and kittens.
Can he hold all Barbie's mugs and things? Protein shake? Stanley cup?
I'm not sure even he is strong enough to be able to lift a full Stanley cup!
His hair is disturbing.
You haven't seen mine lately 😱
