1976 BMW M2 | Bavarian Wonder

- Marc Norris's Bavarian Workshop has rolled out countless projects across its three decades of existence...but none quite like the M2.
Based off a mid-Seventies 2002, Norris reworked the classic coupe to utilize the E30 M3's hardware--most notably, the E30's chassis and 2.3 L inline-four. The combination of BMW's defining classic and the "holy grail" of M3s has resulted in a four-wheel wonder.
So check out the video and see that wonder for yourself.

"Sure, we can do that! All it takes is money!"
No truer words have ever been spoken about car restoration.
ABSOLUTELY.
I can't count how many times I've replayed this, always brings a smile to my face to see someone so passionate about something
BMW forever. My second car when I was 18 was a 1990 750IL. Absolutely gorgeous. I had it for a few years, but had to sell it I miss it so much.
I had several Mercedes, VW's, incl. Golf 1 GTi, BMW's, but my very 1st car was a BMW 1502 for 500 German Marks! And, what shall I say? It was the best car I ever had ! And at that time my big dream was to modify it with an E30 M3 engine!
Congratulations to yours! It's awesome!
This video always cheers me up. Would love to drive this auto.
This could very well be the best car on You tube !
Are u fucking kidding me?
Absolutely blown away. What a perfect build.
Ein Wunderschöner 02! 👍👍👍
Hello BMW 02 Fam. I Have stil my 02! Here in Holland the know my well! Ron 02! Thanks for nice video! Respect to you! JippieYoh! Greets
They done something what I wanted to do since i was kid, buy a 2002 and make it better.
By far it's my favourite car, it is so cute...
Thanks Marc Norris and your workshop for that masterpiece.

What an amazing ride!
What an amazing machine and fine craftsmanship! KUDOS!
Beautiful car. Great video work here!
What an awesome sound!
That thing is off the fucking hook. Understated beast.
"How much is a new M5? Well you can buy it and a spare car to drive too!"
Amazing quote :p
Great car, it would be nice to see the seats when he was talking about them tho...
ruclips.net/video/ICMSnedTBQc/видео.html
@1:15 you got that right! my friend had one of them back in 1988 and that thing was sick,
Thank you!
this is a amazing video, one of the many best i see about cars
The front end looks dead gorgeous !
Worth every penny
Apart from the fact that BMW M division didn't exist when this car was originally released, it's a sweet machine !
I've seen the earlier M3's but I don't think I've ever seen an M2. I'd kill to get my hands on any of the M series cars. Even the old ones.
Awesome video, love it!
ONE OF MY DREAMCARS
Awesome car!! A perfect combination of old school looks and modern engineering. BUT, seriously.... Call the car a M2 and then go ahead and put Alpina wheels, and Alpina steering wheel....? I guess I'm too much of a purist and would NEVER mix M and Alpina. Just my two cents..
How would you feel about a 633csi thats a frankenstein/hotrod of parts example m30b34 block , m30b35 head , dinan turbo kit from the 535i e34 , hartge wheels , either alpina , ac/s or mtech bumpers (haven't decided or found anything ) with bilstein sport struts on h&r lowering springs? And a wooden nardi steering wheel to top it off xD
chriserz94
Did u put M-badges on it?
awesome car, a perfect sleeper....would have "no badges" like my 328ti
@@chriserz94 Perfect balance
I like this Guys style!

ALPINA RIMS THAT I CAN SEE IN PERSON...SIMPLY PERFECT RIMS.

Good lord, it's beautiful :O
the body is beautiful -
Great guy, GREAT shop.. Took amazing care of my euro M5... If you're local, or even if your not, and you need someone to wrench on your Porsche/BMW, i could not recommend him highly enough
Very nice!
Thanks for your support! Be sure to check out our other videos and stay tuned for more to come!
That is so badass.

Very very cool logo for your shop
What a cool, clean car.
that little thing is bad ass.
great videos !!! greetings from germany, subscribed instantly...
damn this car and sound is sickk
Cool project
i`m in love.
SUPER CAR............. WOW.. from Italy
SO much want.... but daaaamn, that price tag....
At the end he says "well, how much did it cost? ..." and claiming that it cost more to build/complete than a new M5 and a spare car combined.
AND ITS WAY COOLER TOO!!
Great looking car. M2? Sounds ok to me!👍🏻
This is awesome but I wonder how much more awesome a F20C would be in there :)
Exellent car and gread job ! Everything is perfect, except the s14 engine swap.I thing that m10 turbo is 2002's soul.Turbo engine is that unique thing in this car that win so much fans of 2002
New M5 or a restored classic...hmmmmm. New M5 and the spare it is, lol. Still really nice!
If a Norris has a hand on it than its bad ass.
speechless!
looks like a fun car and a cool project i wonder if we will ever reach a stage wear ther are no more s14 motors available to do projects like this
glorious
Follow us on tumblr for photos of cars we shoot. Pics of the M2 coming soon!
So like 100,000? Its a nice car but thats just ludicrous
Thats how much he feels its worth. if he spent that much on tbis little car he better have out gold nuts. i know mustangs that are fully restored with big blacks that look as good or better that only cost 50,000 less
Cam Mendoza But this is a classic BMW not a dime-a-dozen Mustang
Garrett Magedson Nice car ? You don't quite realize how amazing this is don't you ?
Hella ripped off the guy could have gotten the same power from M42 with turbo.
THIS is showing you got money, but not enough for actual M3 restoration. Haha
Widebody kit looks rediculus it's 70s trying so hard to be 80s vapor wave perspective. Like a grandpa trying to look hip and young like an E30 or even too retro modern
Yeah, so that "ridiculous wide body kit" originally came on the 2002 Turbo, in 1974
la mejor marca del mundo
This would be my dream job. Making and restoring older BMW's how their supposed to be built. You guys did an amazing job, although I think a more updated interior would be nice, but everyone has their own views. Is there a way i could come and even just help out for a couple weeks during summer? I'm 16 right now, but why not ask.
owned 1602 '2002 and 2002tii in the 80s kept saying they had potential beautiful model!
The Factory could / should have kept it going like Porsche stay with the body style and keep upgrading the mechanics and the Interior.
@@bubbay.1610 they were the dogs I wished I kept one the 2002 believe it by not smooth
love it
Like another comment below, maybe some viewer would like to see the car? Pretty stupid to have a 6 minute video with only 10 seconds showing the car.
OMG Cuz I am so impressed I love it and yes...you are gonna be famous!!!!
gute Arbeit!
I love you man
it looks like a really clean work but for over 100k i would expect more
*heavy breathing*
this car may be laughed at in today's generation ... but i'll take this over my mom's altima any day of the week
Oh hell yeah.
Ausgezeichnet! Ich mochte!
thx
Maybe the M1 is the holy grail?
It's a real shame that the best looking bodies on old cars aren't the cars with the most powerful parts.. Makes me feel like you take a nice bodied car, gut it, fill it with the best higher grade parts that you can afford. Still I love it. BTW I'm only now getting into cars after a computer wiz background so don't think I know wut I'm talking about really
Agreed. That price tag is insane. It cost more than a new M5? I'd much rather get an M5, as much as I like the way this looks/sounds. But it shouldn't be too difficult building an M2 yourself for a fraction of that price. Especially since the s14 fits right in there. They sure are good at what they do, and try to make it all look as if BMW made it, but that's not worth the price tag ,imo.
The car and all its parts about 30k; the labor is 80k lol
The song at 1:40 is CRIM3S - Salt
Thanks, now if anyone had a clue of the song that plays from 2:11 on
Honestly did not expect that song to pop up here, or anywhere for that matter since CRIM3S isnt to well known from what i know.
That's it, I've got a new favourite car :-)
I need this in my life!
Song at 1:40 is CRIM3S - SALT.
That's a lot of cheddar
a friend of mine and I were the first to put an m3 into a 2002 in my shop and it made European car magazine ,I got calls from allover the US.allso I put a 6cyl.into a 320i and made the body look like an m3 it looked great and fooled some people, still own a 2002 turbo look
any links to builds? sounds awesome!
it was before the age of internet and never took many photos, but the magazine might be available, i worked on many awesome cars, at one time I had 3 M/Benz Gullwing in my shop but they were only $200 thousand at the time, wow who knew where things were going to
Wow, he’s so handsome! 😍
Wow, what a car!!! Top job! I'll have this over a new M5 anyday. Modern M cars, although technically capable, don't feel special to drive anymore and it's a real shame. 10 years from now, this car will still be worth a fortune while a new M5 and a spare car will be worth peanuts!
song please , i like it very much
Same here.
Exhaust sound was ugly, but not difficult to change.
Everything else: Thumbs up!
Note:
Here it was buildt a 02 with S14 and turbo 20-25 years ago.
A daily driver but with more minimalistic interior.
This is now for rebuilding and "refurbishing". Exiting for the result! :)
I actually watched m3 evolution and subscribed , then i found this and tried to double subscribe it wouldn't let me though , oh well , keep making great videos do on the E24 , That being said i need to go pick up a rad for my 84' 633csi ! Cheers !
0:44 - i spy, with my little eye, an 8-series!
Can you do update videon , on this amasing build since orginal year is 11years old.
Stay tuned and subscribe. We have a lot more videos coming up!
