Definitely not the most aesthetically pleasing thing I’ve ever seen but definitely much safer than the last body swap. Thanks for not being squashed like a bug in front of your Mom. I don’t see you putting Norm Abram out of a job anytime soon.
Dani did an excellent job swapping out the chassis, glad she could show Dan how to do it the easy way. Great video, glad no Murr's were harmed in the making of this video. thanks for sharing
a million years ago before harbor freight. cherry pickers were extremely EXPENSIVE and hard to find . I built a A frame to do A motor swap . I built mine from 12 4x4 lol 5 years later I threw another 4x4 across the top and swapped a 8v71 Detroit with it.iwhen so far as to put wheels on it .
LMFAO ! Go Dani ! Not bad guys ! Got her swapped with the tires on ! Yes Dan , those nuts do mean something ! It means it won't fall apart when you move it ! Really coming together , that body is so solid now . Well done , folks ! Awesome job , & outstanding ingenuity ! Houston , the Eagle has landed ! SO COOL !
D & D, wow!! The Nomad has come a long ways...you've taken a huge piece of junk & made a worthy car out of it.... good job man!!! Be safe, God Bless!!!
Improvise and overcome that is the American way. Even in far North America. Glad that all three of us are Americans. For your hard work and being wonderful People We give you honorary Citizenship in The United States of America. May you be blessed
Nice job on the chassis swap Dan, Nomad looks great sitting outside with the fenders on it. I think Danny is a Diva and she sure is good with that Bobcat.. Keep up the good work.
Back 40 years ago before engine hoists and gantry cranes were common ... we'd put 4x4 posts in the garage rafters to attach our chain hoists to and would pull our engines that way. A long 4x4 post would distribute the weight. I'd still weld some hooks on the bucket of that Bobcat ... it will make hooking up a lot easier.
Last episode you said "cold garage floor". Buddy of mine used a mobile home furnace to heat his garage. The heat blows out the bottom. He got a used one for free and changed the jets to run natural gas. (was propane) Set it on some bricks in the corner. Warmest garage I have ever worked in. A guy could find one with the A/C too. Thank you both for doing these videos. I look forward to every episode.
The home made A frame made the body swap much safer. Injuries take time to heal and may inhibit your ability to work in the future. You created a win-win situation. Cheers!!
Good Job Dani. The right way to swap bodies. Murr wont mind if you replace that wood and the fact that you were safer. Sometimes a plan comes together.
Won't be the same when you guys move to your new shop. Change is good and it'll be so much nicer and more efficient. You'll be churning out cars like Detroit used to do in no time. I think it's safe to say we're all super happy for you two.
Dan, don't ya wish that you would of done this a few cars sooner. Even repairs to the floor pan and the body would be a trifle easier. Got yourself a good lady Dan. So many won't put on a jacket and come keep ya company so shes a winner in my book. I honestly believe in my heart that this next two years, things are going to get better economically. All the way to a rotisserie maybe. I seen a guy use a part of a fire extinguisher holder and mount it to a sawsall blade, one of the long ones an then he slipped a can of spray paint in it and wowzer, it shakes the piss out of it! Just thought I'd share that with you.
100% improvement over last time! Safety should always come first. I think Dan and Dani had a low stress day with this method. (Except for the midnight heist at Mur's place...I was shocked the neighbors didn't call the RCMP!)
Yeah wow the mostly hard wood timber gantry, i would never had thought of that. I have one made out of box steel. The top cross brace is all one piece with welded in gusset's and my two main legs i have cut in the middle half way up and put right angle steel welded on the outside so i can disassemble it and throw it in my 6x4 trailer and take it to different locations if ever need be. Of cause my to main legs are also gusseted. The whole lot is heavy but its never broken in the 24 years i have had it. Its 3 meter x 3 meter and i can lift engine and gearbox out in one go. My shed is like yours, i dont have the height inside to use it so all my engine swaps are done outside then the whole she bang is pushed back in the shed but a timber gantry, yeah i never would have thought. Good job guys, great team work. Gday from Down Under.
Definitely not the most aesthetically pleasing thing I’ve ever seen but definitely much safer than the last body swap. Thanks for not being squashed like a bug in front of your Mom. I don’t see you putting Norm Abram out of a job anytime soon.
Hopefully you’ll be back in time to put a real paint job on it before he decides it just needs a Black Widowish paint job.
People have been yanking bodies and engines for over 100 years with wood. Of course... Some of that wood is now 100 years old...
Mur, it was dark, but I got a pretty good look at the guy who took your wood!
Remember don't put anything on the internet that can incriminate you.
That gantry was a "Dan Special" Looked like junk but worked a treat. ;D ha ha
Slick job on the hoist good job
That's how they did it in the old days. Dani is sure handy with that bobcat.

You could pull engines with your winch by putting a pulley atop your frame you made that look easy
Woop woop back at it dd shop 😊✌😋

Daniel you definitely have a ton of Bobcat bravado. Dan shes a keeper.
