Cold flame rush+fire frost wall+cold flame ward enables CFC. Frost wall has some synergies with lightning blast and fire frost wall gives brands, saving you some passive points. You don’t have space for ele nova though. Haven’t tried yet, but I found some guy sharing this idea.

Finally got around to playing this; another great build from my favourite LE player :) Just a couple of gearing notes: Frostbite Shackles (Frostbite, Freeze Multi, Ward on Freeze) and Stymied Fate (Teleport CD, Doom/Haste on Hit) are excellent for this build. Prism Wraps is amazing for levelling and using until you get Spell Leech blessing (might still be better than Static Shell overall, not sure). My favourite thing about the build is it not only allows me to tolerate Teleport, I might even like it now ;)
I really like how this build came together. Looking forward to trying some variant of this when I come back since my weird runic invocation main skill stuff didn't pan out.
Incase anyone else was confused the Reowyn's Frostguard invocation is the spell that cost at least 40 mana that is proccing the Elemental Shred explosion from Prismatic Gaze.
Great idea with the elemental nova. I'm going to drop flame ward expertise in order to put points into elly nova. My idea is to use flame rush to trigger the runic invocation.... frost wall purification is too good for higher corruption to pass up
There's also the fireball conversion gloves and speccing into the conversion node. This is what I've been doing as between the gloves and the inigma, fireball has almost the same chance to apply a spark charge, and can be auto cast from concerted frostwall
I've always thought Closed Circuit was a bad multiplayer skill, I had no idea it stacked. It gives no indication it does, and there's no buff to see it stacking. Have to look at character panel to see it. That certainly opens up some possibilities...
But wouldnt a spark charge build be better with frost claw, and the node that casts lightning nova? XD And you still get Edict. What is releasing the charges from Prismatic Gaze? What spell is over 40 mana?
Any chance you or anyone else here can share a good loot filter for this build I can use and tweak? I'm a new player having difficulty finding and making a decent filter.
Maxroll the website makes some good loot filters. Also Perry has a video on what affixes should (generally) go on which gear, which can help you design a general loot filter. For this build, show items with intelligence and critical strike. Look for that prismatic gaze, ladle, and spark charge catalyst.
When you convert lightning blast to cold. Does it means that it scales with cold instead of lightning now? Wouldn't that hurt the dmg since most of it is to boost lightning? Sorry new here.
yes, it only scales with Cold Dmg. But the vast majority of my damage is from Spark Charges, and the Cold Conversion allows me to use CFC Runic Invocation. Worthwhile, IMO (except for the terrible visuals)
@@PerrythePig Yeah, looking like it. I only started playing two weeks ago after a LONG break (years lol) My Spellblade is manastrike, with frost claw proccing LB from the new dagger. Pretty pog, stacking 200 static almost instantly. Not sure how it'll transfer to rune master but we'll find out.
I was farming it a lot too. But I surrender and just continue to play with my level 15 character, first mage I found... Drop... lol, I think it's easier to farm it at low level zone and maybe with a low level character because it's a level 17 item.
I've been waiting for you to post a LB spark charge build since a few weeks, thanks ! I've been wondering how you would manage the CFC invocation, and thanks to you I discovered that lil passive point that converts lightning blast without investing skill points ... I also hesitate quite a lot between convergence and closed circuit. Curently playing the first, I feel that single target damage is medium without but maybe I'm wrong ! Keep up the good work !
Twisted Heart and Reowyn's Frostguard both got a nerf this patch, so with the exact same gear, you should be getting less ward than me. I haven't logged in to see exactly how much less, though.
The ward gen is completely insane. Will this get nerfed? @perry would you say that this build is best executed on a runemaster or do you think that there is a Sorc version?
Realistically, Runemaster is adding the CDR per Int and the defenses from CFC Invocation. The INT in Sorc isn't as strong, but its good (and better at low investment), but losing the defenses is weird. Hopefully there will be some sort of justification to try this as sorc in the future.
Thanks, do you know if resistance shred counts as additional ailment for the prupose of boosting the more spell damage from the ladle? (thinking about the blessings for void, poision, fire res shred) @@PerrythePig
oh I've been using that belt all over the place, but I wanted cleanse here in order to tank t4 Julra's 1-shot. If you're using frost claw (and constantly cleansing yourself) then Isadora's is an even better consideration.
GL getting Mad Alch Lad. tho...i got only one since release and i have been playing 10 hours a day killing every Exiled Mage i could find. Getting one with LP is going to be a nightmare.
Twisted heart seems incredibly overpowered. It pretty much saved you every single health affix you would usually need while generating 10k ward and having a ton of great damage stas. All you seem to need is some leech and your all good to go. Is there some downside to this item I'm missing?
Been farming that stilupod helemt for a week and it hasnt dropped so i put the build down. I get beong rare but no way should i go a week without 1 single drop of playing about 8 hours a day
Yeah, I mentioned that in the video! I forgot his name though. As I mentioned in the video, I loved the combination of Fragment + Mad Alchemist + Spark Charge Lightning Blast. I didn't like how he was handling his CFC -- it seemed like he was kinda guessing to get the Runic Invocation that he wanted. My build hits about 18k ward on single target without the use of the High Mana Cost Lightning Skill + Brand tech that he was making use of, so I opted out of that for the build. I would argue that changing two skills is upwards of a 40% change in a build -- along with a number of other changes that I've made. I even noted that I've borrowed ideas from a Build Contest contestant and from Dread, a fellow content creator. There are only so many things you can change and fit together in an ARPG -- we're basically playing with Lego blocks. I encourage you to care a little less about "build attribution", and a little more about just having fun.
i wasn't "guessing"to get Runic because Flamerush is channelled skill so you will end up with FFC or others,i could have done it other way to secure Runic but i didn't want to because during boss fight i can also use Ball Lightning for single target.
What I would do is use Glyph of Dominion instead of nova, Use Flame Rush instead of Teleport, and Ice wall instead of Runic Invocation( still have Invocation on r.) Flame Rush can cast Glyph. Ice wall can cast Flame Ward, and Lightning Blast( it also enhance Glyph of Dominion). Glyph of Dominion adds SPARK CHARGES, and chains.

Keep on playing it ,after a while it becomes a reflex...especially once you memorize rune combinations.

Ive been trying to farm the mad alchemist laddle all day. Mages drop experimental 99 times out of 100. Very frustrating.
RNGesus hates me too. Hundreds of mage kills. I have ONE.

How would this perform without the red items. I have all these uniques but non of them have legendary potential
I *think* the starting point is Helmet/Wand/Offhand with no LP. Obviously it scales very well with investment. Let me know if you try it out!

Nope! Build is totally in tact with no changes. You'll have slightly less ward from Reowyn's Frostguard.

you and me both. You'd have to give up CFC as your Runic Invocation, or figure out another way to live that dream.

teleport to reset haste. Did I say it backward? Whoops.
Potential other belt: Isadora's. Even more armor + cast speed. You do give up the potential of legendary mods... but it's a great belt otherwise.

Dominion doesn't give spark charges. It give static charges.
