I don’t order those small samples anymore because I don’t think it’s worth it but also as you said the larger sample sizes are getting so expensive which is why I end up getting a full bottle 😞 the struggle is real

I personally love reading the essays on fragrantica, I enjoy when people really paint a picture with their words and provide context clues that will help me determine if we have similar tastes 😂 yes, they can definitely be too long winded but it helps me to know more than the notes/accords/performance which are already listed in the votes section. I totally get wanting people to stick to the point though!
I can understand! 🥰😄 I just get frustrated when I've read 9 paragraphs of prose and still can't tell if the person enjoyed the fragrance or not. 😂
I agree, I'd rather someone actually describe their experience, than put 3 words "great, loved it", "my fave scent", "buy it now" that are completely subjective and unhelpful.
I like it when a reviewer writes how a certain fragrance smells on their skin. I need to know if there is a danger that something is going to smell like celery or blood or urine on me :)

In my opinion, love, you don’t need Lemon Tart if you have Bake (which is much better anyway). But you DO NEED Hufflepuff 💕.

I will try Bake but I support the Greek so I’m team Lemon Tart (which I have). The Akro I have is Haze - the pot one.
Does Bake have lasting power though? And projection? I tried Akro Awake and was disappointed in both... not sure if it was just that fragrance or how the house makes their perfumes.

Sugar Leather I have but still on the fence lol. That cinnamon isn’t quite smooth enough and get a little scratchy on the dry down. Definitely adding Oajan this fall tho. That one is cinnamon perfection on me.

I completely agree that Vibrato is overhyped! Esp for that price point for a freshie. So happy I sampled this one before purchasing a full bottle.

Hufflepuff is amazing. I don’t find it similar to bake. Hufflepuff is light summer lemon gourmand with amazing vanilla. I definitely want a bottle as soon as it comes back in stock!

Vibrato is so funny, when I first smelled it I was like “what in the Mr. Clean is this???” but that fragrance goes to WORK on my man, it smells so good it’s unreal. It has quickly moved to his top shelf and his collection is very strong. Gozo is tough because I like it but my friends hated it and my other frags are too alluring to reach for it haha. Loved hearing your opinions and can’t wait to watch more! 😘

Same thing happened to me. It was "meh" on my skin so I gave it to him and he smells incredible in it! In fact, he wore it to a party and got massive compliments from all the ladies.
To them it smells dated. The top is beautiful but I don’t suit the drydown. Maybe it’s my skin chemistry though, I love it on clothes!
Girl, I just love you to absolute pieces!! ♥️ I love starting the weekend with you and I could listen to you talk about fragrances for forever!! 🤩 I smelled Akro Bake at the Scent Bar (Lucky Scent’s brick and mortar in Soho) and omg girl I want it so badly but I am going to hold off for as long as I can - hopefully December - before buying because I have been going IN with the fragrance purchases 😅 and I need to cool my jets! Alghabra “From the Heart” was my favourite from the line. It’s ethereal but endures for hours. It’s uplifting but quiet and peaceful and one of my favourite scents for summer. I love Gozo and “Une Nuit de Doha”. I bought what I wanted from Profummum and Indult years ago. I am tempted by Narco. I do like things that are extreme.

You should always have a few reference fragrances on hand. The classics always inform our decisions and they are the basis of how so many perfumers develop their scents. I’m insane about hanging on to my vintage fragrances but I do love them. I do believe though that the history of fragrance has informed and influenced our personal and collective journey.

@@VeronicaSays I received it in a random sample pack from Luckyscent. I used up the sample entirely and realized I needed it. You probably know the feeling. It doesn’t project much but it does keep you in a fragrant bubble all day. Perhaps you’ll try it in your next round of sampling or you’ll have a chat to try it with a purchase. Those little sample vials can be enough to lure you in 😉

I gave Vibrato to my husband as I prefer it on him. I just bought Gozo and it fulfills my fruity floral category which I don’t have a lot of. Amazing sillage and compliment getter!

GIRL! I love hufflepuff! I got a sample from Greta then realized it was sold out. Dapper has a clone version and it last much longer than the og. 10/10 recommend lol!! Bake has a stronger lemon note. Hufflepuff is much more creamy and I get coconut. Two very different fragrances to my nose

Yes i have a sample of Hufflepuff it's beautiful and sold out i missed it when they had it for $180 but someone slid in my Dm on IG and same dapper had a version of it so i get it, i prefer dapper's and she's right it last much longer..
Vibrato for me didn't have a cleaner opening, however, it gave me the ginger opening to L'home by YSL which I already own. The performance was very impressive as the first day I wore it to work I got a compliment from the other side of the room(oops) with only one spray. Vibrato is more complex than than L'home in that it got some interesting green note in the middle that I like even though I don't usually like green notes but it's hard to justify the price of $320 dollars when L'home cost $50, granted that's for a 50 m. when Vibrato is in a 100m. with a more intricate bottle. It pains me but I gonna have to wait till the price comes down before I get this. I'm gonna give Sugar leather a shot as next week as I didn't really like Angel share cause it came off a little harsh on my skin & Oajan was just o.k. to me

I discovered Gozo at Esxence in Milan this year and fell instantly in love. Can't say it reminds me of L'interdit. Actually I can't say it reminds me of anything else. To me it's warm peaches :) Absolutely adore it and apparently the 100mls are mostly sold out, so I'm not alone in that. I probably wouldn't reach for it in the winter, but spring-summer-autumn seems like a gream time to use it.

I think gin does have a smell, juniper berries mainly. Love smelling it - and drinking it even more 🤣 So whilst Gntonic may not be mass appealing it's certainly appealing to me 😂

I loooove acqua e zucchero. It's like pink sugar but for adults. With a longevity of 12 hours and moderate but always there, sillage. Vs. 2 hours from the acquolina one. The thing with Profumum Roma's perfumes is that they need more time to macerate than regular perfumes as they don't contain much alcohol.

Great video! I love Manakara, but I just can't bite the bullet and pay that much lol. Glad to hear your review of Lemon Tart...I was very curious about that one. I totally agree about the long reviews on Fragrantica, but one of my favorite reviews ever was a short story-type of review for Eris Mxxx (you'll have to scroll down to the bottom...it's the first review). If you haven't read it, I recommend it. 😄

Hey there Veronica, Are you enjoying the drop in humidity today? I was curious about a number of todays featured fragrances. You certainly made my mind up on not bothering with the samples. Bake is a BIG no for me. I couldn’t scrub it off quick enough. It was very sharp and I don’t mind sharpness if it calms down and becomes a final product that is pleasant. This is coming from someone who has most of the Amouage lineup. Mostly female but a few males as well. Something in the note profile did not play well with my skin chemistry. I do have Angel Share which I love and I was fortunate enough to test out Eye of Seven Hills. While one of my eyes was looking at the Seven Hills, the other eye was rolling back in my head. I’ve slowed down on purchasing but best believe I’ll be picking a bottle of this up in the fall. I think I’m going to try to find a decant of Sugar Leather. I’ve been curious and after your thoughts today I’m going to see where I can find one. I have a question for you. I recently got a decant of Loubierouge. I loved it but the performance on me was very poor. For that price point, no thank you,ain’t nobody got time for that! Do you know of a fragrance that performs well with notes of cardamom, iris,and vanilla? Alternatively, do do you know of a well performing dupe? Thanks so much! ❤❤
Hey Jeanette! Today was very pleasant in comparison to recent temps! Although I was recently in Nevada and MISERABLE in 100 degree plus temps - YIKES! 😬 So the only dupe I've tried of Loubirouge is Dua Rouge, which I gave away. I don't love the scent profile so I wouldn't be very helpful, but it's supposed to be a good dupe. Generic Perfumes makes one too. So, did you mean to say you disliked Bake or were you thinking of Lemon Tart? I wore Bake today and found it a sweet vanillic lemon, or lemony vanilla. Not tart at all, but sounds like you had a different experience.

I’ve had samples of Imaginary Authors 2 from this house, a couple from Vilhelm and I ordered some Liquid Imaginaires samples. I liked not loved Dom Rosa. Let’s do for sure on Hufflepuff! I did smell Avatar from HOS and it was pretty but a little lack luster in my opinion.😊

Hi Veronica - Aaah- The Eye of Seven Hills. A delightful fragrance - as are many from the House. They are very long lasting!!
Its a Turkish brand and Istanbul like Rome is said to have been built on seven hills. The name of the perfume is gotten from views of the city from the Galata Towers - Kind of like a rustic Empire State Building 😀. Please let us know if you sample others. Have a good week ❤

Good morning sunshine! I wish I knew you were looking for Guerlain’s Millisime Tonka. I recently decluttered on Mercari at practically cost and sourced it from Place Vendome. I loved it, but I felt it already had notes similar to other Guerlain’s in my collection and not my first tonka craving reach. Also-totally agree on the Vibrato. Synthetically-dense counter top cleaner. And not of the Fabuloso variety 😂

I like the lemon in Lemon Tart - but the buttery crust part throws me off a little bit. I do want to try Bake and Hufflepuff. I want to add a cupcake to my collection at some point! I don’t think Vibrato is for everyone- it’s very strong on me. I have a decant and usually wear it when I’m home alone lol. I enjoy your videos - I’m learning so much from you❤

I tried lemon tart and didn’t enjoy it either. The lemon note was a bit too tart, and it settled into a lotion like vanilla scent that had poor longevity. Afro bake was lovely, but settled into a spiced vanilla scent. I’ll have to try it again in cooler weather to see if the lemon note becomes more prominent. Have you tried CJ scents Lemonilla? That one is very longwearing and smells like a true iced lemon pound cake from beginning to end, with no spices. Much smoother than lemon tart.

Hey Veronica, always a joy to see you. If you are into citruses/citrus-vanillas like Lira, Lemon Tart, Bake, and such, you might want to give this a try: Vanilla by Franck Boclet. I tested this one last night and it was delicious! I, too, found Lemon Tart too sharp. but mostly not a perfume but a baked good that I don't care to wear (I am a gourmand lover, though). Vanille, however, is like a lemon pie, but still a fragrance. And it is reasonably cheap, too!

Oh dear, so sorry to hear about your Shalimar Tonka. I hope you can raise a dispute through your bank. The seller/vendor would have insurance on that shipment so they should be able to return your money if it got lost, whether that’s in customs of wherever because they need to show proof of delivery. I had the same issue (though not as pricey) when I sold my Chanel hair mist. I am picturing someone else finding that package and enjoying the hair mist - on a lighter note. 😊
Coincidentally I managed to hunt down a Shalimar M. Tonka at a reasonable price and it arrived a few days ago. At the same time I am also testing out a sample of Cuir Beluga that I got from a Guerlain event last month. They do have the same vibe (as one of the commenters here said) although Cuir Béluga is a tad more leathery especially towards the drydown. Both are masterfully composed scents.

I asked for a refund through the online store but they claimed they were not at fault, and I didn't want to bother fussing with my own credit card company so I ate the cost. I had other battles to fight at that time that were taking my energy. 🙏

The Sugar Leather sounds really good. I love Hufflepuff. It almost made my top 10 for life. The lemon is more sweet than tart. It’s reminds me of a comforting lemon cream puff. I’m very of sick of Fragrantica. The reviews are sometimes ridiculous and I’ve seen people arguing over perfume
I am eager to pick up Hufflepuff when it comes back in stock. Girl... these Fragrantica reviews are always trying to do the MOST. It's overkill! And the arguing... LAWD. Are we THAT bored as humans? Sheesh.
I enjoy buy or pass series. I have tried Indult Manakura. I love rose and had great expectations since heard Demi Rowling praising it. I found it to be straight up turkish delight scent, too sweet, too simple and not something I'd want to wear. Which is good because the price is outrageous. P.S. I always skip through those long-winded reviews on Fragrantica :D

Gin is an infused Vodka, perhaps you are thinking that vodka doesn’t have a smell but Ipersonally find that Gin has a light but often herbal smell.

I really enjoyed Bake but I won't be getting a full bottle because I only got a bit of soft lemon rind and if I layer Bianco Latte with Deep N Desire, I get a much better, 85% copy. SH Lucas Venom Incarnat is a love of mine and Ruby Naga is great too-more 'crowd pleasing' x

I was interested to hear your thoughts on Lemon Tart , and when you mentioned Hufflepuff 💝 I had to leave you a message, probably already have as this is a spring/summer love/addiction for me... pls note that HOS is one of my fav houses and I love the bottles 💞 love glitter 💎.... the scent initially to me was a rich bourbon vanilla but light enough for warm weather, after it sat the fruits came through and made this so divine 💖, I get a creamy quality, soft lemon, nothing sharp mixed with peach and coconut cream ..... I don't detect a floral note , stay away if you dislike sweet, fruity , gourmand delicious fragrances ❣ Chris , Jax and Greta all have talked about this one as well 😍

I am surprised and not so surprised by the Lorenzo Villoresi... I got Mate and it starts smelling like a beautiful mate tea and then 10 minutes later it is a lovely baby powder perfume that really lasts. Baby Powder is not my signature, so I am going to give my bottle away. But I am surprised you that your experience was the same with another of their perfumes. But again, not too surprised as it might be their DNA. They do baby powder very well though.
When I was travelling I meant to bring with me a 15ML of the ylang ylang extrait from Perris to send your way but I apparently didnt pack it (I had a few others too). I will be travelling again in Dec/Jan though and have another opportunity

I originally come from a coastal town, Port Elizabeth so we went to see my mom and two brothers😍😍. Then we had our real holiday towards The Garden Route which has lovely views before you reach Cape Town🤩🤩. So sad it has come to an end but it was awesome🤩🤩

I was thinking of ordering from News-Parfums once the weather cools and those local UPS/Fedex truck cargo areas aren't steamy hot. I know of a few other RUclips reviewers who've ordered and didn't have much of a problem other than an occasional customs delay. Was it insured and did you get your money back? My guess is that it was either stolen or damaged in transit and no one wanted to take the responsibility, so it was conveniently lost.
I suspect you're right about the fate of the package. Now, other people have used the website without issue. I don't blame them, but I'm fairly certain there was nefarious activity outside of their control.

Hufflepuff is different from Bake. I enjoy Hufflepuff, but I find it very similar (like VERY similar) to La Danza Delle Libellule which I have both the original & extrait versions.
I originally *thought* I liked Hufflepuff better (when I blew through a sample), but now that I have a full bottle, I find that I prefer & reach more often for one of my beloved La Danza’s.
I def recommend trying Hufflepuff, but for anyone that already owns La Danza (or the extrait), you might find you don’t need both (I’m happy to own all 3, lol, but I prob didn’t *need* Hufflepuff).

Countertop cleaner.. hmmm 🤔 ..my son told me I smelled like a countertop cleaner when I wore Versace Woman one day and I haven’t worn it since! It was just a little cheapie blind buy, I probably added it to an order to get free shipping once 😂 but do you suppose it smells similar to Vibrato? I’ve never smelled that one 🤷🏻♀️
LMBO! Some counter cleaners smell nice! Vibrato is a lovely citrus oil smell. I don't think I've ever tried Versace Woman. Versense, on the other hand, did give me a little counter cleaner (pleasantly so!). 👍👍👍
I actually recieved my bottle of the Shalimar Tonka, and I love it but it really reminds me a lot of another favorite, Cuir Beluga. Maybe you can get that seem experience from Cuir Beluga? But I hope you can get your bottle someday!

I love your honesty on all these hyped fragrances. I am tired of all the hype over meh scents. BTW, I got the dupe of BabyCat by Alexandria, TomCat....it's a no from me. no real interesting smell, even hard to smell it and not sure what it smells like., I can't get a real smell out of it..weird...and nothing lasting.....maybe I need to let it macerate? Has that ever happened to you with a dupe?

I enjoyed it but it was so similar to Rosendo Mateu No 5 that I didn't need a bottle. YES, I have had the experience of fragrances getting stronger the more they sit AND I've had the experience of not smelling something much on first try but having a different experience on second or third try. Hope this helps!
