I have never commented anywhere online about anything… but today after watching your video I can’t resist telling you how much your videos mean to me. I identify with you in many ways.. but mostly inspire me to be a better person.. more energetic.. more cheerful & more outgoing & independent. mostly to
    just not live inside my
head so much & to go about the day being active & just being myself.
    Thank you

Good Morning. I cut a toxic friend out of my life. As I got older I realized how bad I felt after being with them. I'd rather be without friends than having to take a week to recoup after being together. I think age helps with these things.

Hello, Margaret! Your floral dress is so pretty. I wear a lot of dresses in the summer because they're cooler and more comfortable. I always drank tea until I started producing oxalate/calcium kidney stones and had to switch to coffee. Turns out coffee is far more kidney-friendly than tea. I drink coffee now - hot, cold, or room temp, always with Italian Sweet Cream creamer and I've grown to love it.
Like you, I used to shower before work. Now I shower at night before bed and you know what...I sleep better. I've never been a breakfast person. My stomach won't tolerate food until I've been up a few hours. When I'm ready late in the morning, I usually eat something sweet. Supper is a small meal late in the day. I supplement with healthy snacks throughout the day like a piece of fruit or a glass of milk or a protein shake if it's a day I'm not eating meat or eggs. My appetite has diminished but I think that's natural for us as we transform into our older selves.
These are all fairly new habits for me. I pamper myself more these days and I'm learning new ways to make my life easier and more comfortable all the time. I embrace these changes. After working hard all those years, I deserve this "me" time where I'm a priority. Not the kids, not work. Just ME. It's my time now and it's glorious!
I was taught at a young age about the vibrations our souls emit. My grandfather was a very wise man. He taught me when you're happy and positive you emit good vibrations which appeal to others and they see you as the friendly, caring person you are and react accordingly. But when you harbor negative vibrations and you're all grumpy and scowling, others reflect those things back at you and that makes you even more negative. The trick is to stay inside the circle of positivity which you create. Sometimes you may have to look a little harder for something to be happy about, but there's always something. Maybe it's only that the sun is in the sky and the trees are still standing. These are positive things to be grateful for and feel positive about. He told me, what seeds you sow will grow so make sure those seeds are beautiful flowers and not ugly weeds. When you plant smiles, not frowns, people react with positivity.
Now that you mention it, I do seem to be more visible now that I'm older. Isn't that an odd phenomenon? It's a blessing our society here in America still shows respect for grandmothers to some extent. Other societies honor their elders and lovingly care for them, respecting their knowledge and wisdom. Only in America do people shove their aging parents into nursing homes and forget about them. Only in America will you ever hear the phrase, "you're old and gonna die anyway". I have noticed that people hold doors open for me more often than not these days. I love it when that happens. I smile and graciously thank them and both our circles of positivity grow. Little things like a smile, a hug, a pleasant remark, or an act of kindness can set the tone for the entire day for everyone involved.
Enjoy your day, Margaret and try to stay cool. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated! See you next time!

Hi Margaret. I know exactly what you mean about smiling and hugging. I've just turned 70 and yes things do change in body, yes but also in mind. About jewellery, well yes I wear it nearly every day. Not that I dress up every day, but if I am wearing the usual dowdy clothes most of the time, I just love to add my some earnings and necklace which feels like a little bit of an uplift on my leggings and T-shirt. Love hearing from you Margaret. Xx

Hello Margaret. We keep changing as our life does. I used to get dressed for work, meetings conferences and all that. I have jewelry that I wore and everyday I changed up. I had a couple of signature pieces like my chunky cigar band. Laid off at almost 55.
Didn’t need to dress up, anymore. I never went out, not even to the grocery store without being properly put together.
2021 at 60 my house flooded during winter freeze.
That year and 8 months I lived with 3 decent t-shirts an 2 pair of jeans and a few old clothes to work on the house to refinished floors and paint.
I had stayed with my daughter during that period so I would live her place dressed to go work, a mess by end of day would stop at store to pickup produce for salads or whatever, didn’t care what I looked like. My hair though is always put up in a bun, my silver hair has always gotten attention.
But yes, we change along with what’s happening in our little world. I’ve always been a hugger and my family love my hugs.
Shorts under a dress makes me feel cooler, when I wear one.
    Done talking.☺️💗

What a great video! I'm 69 and have noticed many changes in myself, too. I feel freer than when I was young. I still care about what some folks think, but that group gets smaller all the time, lol. A few years ago, we moved to a small home near our kids/grandkids. We help watch them quite a bit, and I decided an all-cotton wardrobe made sense for getting out all the little smudges and stains from little hands. I ordered a bunch from LLBean and Lands End (tried to always get them on sale), and those teeshirts and shorts have become my uniform. Really comfortable, also. I haven't purchased dressy clothing for quite some time, and feel that I have enough basic stuff in the closet to get me by, but the world has changed. It seems there are fewer reasons to dress up. Weddings are informal around here and following Covid, funerals are almost nonexistent. The older I get, the more I want to make peace with myself about everything. Life is just to doggone short to worry about stuff that doesn't really matter. BTW, Margaret, I really think your dress is cute on you.

Hi Margaret….I had my 60th birthday last year and the mantra that I use and think of on a daily basis is ‘life’s to short’. As a serial people pleaser and worrier it is amazing to me the stress and anxiety I have put myself under o er the years through worrying about stuff that really doesn’t matter. It’s a big learning curve that is ongoing. I find I am much calmer these days but I make a conscious effort to live that way if I can. I totally agree with the smiling thing have done it most of my life, possibly for the wrong reasons..you know, perhaps I will be good enough and people will like me but I get such pleasure in making someone else’s day with such a simple gesture. As for the food thing..my taste buds have definitely changed as I have got older and more often than not I just want plain and simple stuff..no fanciness. I would be happy with dippy eggs and soldiers! Here In the Uk that is soft boiled eggs with buttered toast or bread cut into soldier like strips to dip! I have never been ladylike either Margaret, I sit exactly like you legs akimbo!!! My Mum used to despair😂 she was very ladylike and walked very upright and straight where as I ‘walk like a ship in a gale’ an old East Anglian saying😊😂I like the simple, easy going, no drama lifestyle and in an odd way am very happier that I am at this end of my life and not at the beginning of it. But obviously that is with hindsight of course. I am lucky I have my health a great husband, no kids but a wonderful caring extended family, a roof over my head enough to pay the bills and to have a week or two away in the UK for holiday and I am content with that. Love your channel Margaret and the things you talk about. I think we all think them but think thats just me….so pretty much we are all a bit crazy in our own way but isn’t that amazing!!!😊😻🙏❤️ps We have two cats…Archie and Lucy…they are the masters of their domain as their humans we just do whatever they want us too!!!!😂

I recently started doing the same thing. I make it my purpose to not only smile but also say something nice. I think we all can appreciate when someone takes the time to acknowledge us. Gosh we have so much in common. I also want to look nice but it has to be comfortable. No makeup and I feel foolish putting on jewelry when my hands are now so wrinkled but to be honest jewelry now bothers me. One thing about becoming a senior is that you realize how much time and energy you wasted on stupid nonsense. Enjoy the rest of your day. 😄

Yea, Margaret! Keep on keeping' on. I agree with 99% of what you say. However, may I add my two cents to the length of your dress. I ordered a couple of inexpensive shirtwaist dresses from QVC. Denim & Co is the brand. The length is called midi, several inches below the knee. They're polyester, wash and dry easily. I wear them all summer everywhere I go with nothing but normal undies underneath. I stay covered up and cool as a cucumber! Yes, I'm your age category and have arthritic knees!

I do eat breakfast now in the morning which consists of a bowl of wheaties with almond milk, then followed up with my coffee! I used to only have coffee, maybe 2 cups, and my gut would then be my worst enemy. Soo, started eating Wheaties and then drinking coffee and my gut is so very much better. I absolutely agree with you on the smiling at strangers, complimenting them on perhaps an outfit, great shoes, hair, whatever and the responses make me so happy. It's just like you said, they seemed invisible until I greeted them and it was as if they just felt alive again. What? If I can give that to someone, I'm a-gonna do it. Such a small thing to say hello to make someone's day better. And I appreciate it, too, if someone gives me a hello or compliment! Such a simple pleasure for both the giver and the receiver!! You so could wear jewelry, Margaret...you do not have a bull neck and maybe a longer length necklace would make you feel less subconscious. It will elongate the neck area and would look great. I do wear jewelry, earrings, every day! Even when I'm working outside....I probably look pretty weird to some neighbors, but they've known me long enough to know that that's just me!! It's like I have to put on my eyebrows to go outside!!! Yup, that's anal, but if I have them penciled in even with no mascara on, I feel somewhat presentable....in my mind anyway! Lol~ Margaret, I have so much in common with you, as a lot of us do who follow you, that I feel like I have a really good friend! Keep on being yourself....that's so much easier than being someone you're not and we all love your personality and honesty!! Keep on keeping on!! God Bless!! I have my spot in the sofa (and the daughters stay away from that spot) and I do shorts under the dress🙂 I (63 years old) shower in the evening before getting into bed (sheets washed of course), so nice and I sleep like a log for about 5 hours. What else has changed; Food, not tempted by sweets anymore. Tend to eat salty stuff, like olives and pickled stuff.. Don´t know why...I´m probably sick :-) And No - no food in the morning, I start eating around 11.00. Hugs are a wonderful medicine, I charge at people with a hug all the time, especially my children and grandchildren and I feel they love it! It is like with the dogs and cats. Hi from Gainesville, FL, Margaret! From my experience retiring from teaching elementary school at going on 73 (I'm not closing in on 75) that the combination of changing lifestyle and getting older has had a lot of effects on me. I used to always eat breakfast and then have lunch whenever the school scheduled my grade level to have lunch and then have dinner when I got home usually around 5 or 5:30. I began having a cup of coffee each morning when I was in my 30's and still do that. Lately, during the day I have been on a Peppermint Tea kick😁. I am very short so I try to keep to low carb.......NOT FUN.... I have been a widow since 2014 so retirement is not the exciting, fun thing my husband and I had planned (hiking, fishing, camping, etc.). Born in 1948, do I EVER remember growing up mostly in the southeast (except for 2 years in Sault St. Marie, MI area - Kincheloe AFB) without AC. Wonderful to see you this morning, dear!♥

Hi Margaret, I learnt many years ago to be comfortable in my own skin, even as a teen & young adult I never wore shorts or pants / slacks always wore dresses, when my daughter about 20 she took me shopping to buy some jeans & she actually laughed at me because I look ridiculous in them , I own 1 pair of slacks 1 pair of shorts, I enjoy dresses & feeling feminine wearing makeup.
We are who we are and yes life does change I’ve changed so much my body has changed in what it doesn’t like me eating , it is now 2.15 pm here & I haven’t eaten because I’m not hungry ,I can’t drink coffee anymore it makes me sick so m a tea drinker but mostly a water drinker.
Keep being you and enjoy the skin you live in and it’s changes as you get older, I’m 75 & enjoying it just not some of the age side affects. I am a smiler & a hugger always have acknowledged people as I walk by , not so much a hugger since Covid.

After working for 50 plus yrs, retirement is a big❤ change. I used to shower at night because I had a long 40 mile trip to work. Now I shower whenever I like. I could use a big hug! Lucky you. Last year in the hot weather I got some harem pants from etsy. Look good, cheap and cool. Still wearing them!

I can't eat untill honestly around dinner time especially when I'm at work. I will "graze" as well but it's not untill after I've eaten dinner I am 46yrs old and I've pretty much been this way for about the last 15yrs.
My mother-in-law is 75 and she will eat when.she wakes up again at lunch and then at dinner with is always around 6pm. I guess it's just what we train ourselves to do I'm not sure. Anyway TYFS I absolutely LOVE your videos and you look absolutely gorgeous in that dress!!! You go girl👌👍sending love from Cincinnati, Ohio ❤❤

Love your chats You could be my twin 😅 I am 69 (yesterday) I find I don't want to or need to eat until 1 at the earliest then it's a slim fast drink or a sandwich if I am out Main meal about 8 or even 9 I don't sleep until about 2 am I have mobility issues needing both hips replaced so obviously I'm not active enough to tire My main problem with clothes is that I am short and overweight I love dresses but these days they are midi length even on the tall models My friends tell me I always look nice I try my best for me really I find going to some places in the summer depresses me because every one looks good BUT I have started to say to myself I am here so they can feel good about themselves 😂 I stopped wearing jewellery recently as its hard to fasten and although my skin is OK I think what's the point of bringing attention to neck wrinkles etc I do spend a fair amount of time on my make up and wouldn't dream of going out of the house bare faced Sometimes I can feel invisible but then if I'm not happy with me do I want to be I matter and am loved by the people who matter in my life and that is enough I don't like hugs either having been brought up in various Foster homes then boarding school My hugs are precious and for only those closest to me I used to hate the " church hugs " but although I still have my faith I don't go to church at the moment I think one of the greatest thing when we get older is we can stop trying to please others and revel in who we have always meant to be I hope you have enjoyed my chat with you You always make me smile Keep them coming and just be your wonderful lovely self Take care and enjoy your retirement ❤ X

Yes to the dress Margaret it’s really cute and love the print. I too have been wearing summer dresses lately because not only are they freeing but cooler in this wicked heat and humidity. Adore your cup…you’ll never loose it! Also yes to the changes as we get older and frankly that’s the spice of life. I don’t eat as heavy and large meals as I’ve prepared for many years and thank god for that…it’s healthier to eat smaller meals or snacks throughout the day. It’s easier on your digestive track..or so I’ve read. I too shower at night and I love how much better I feel and sleep. Yes to extending a hug to someone, you never know what they’re going through. We’re all trying to get through this life the best we can and a kind hug is good for humanity..that’s my thought anyway. Your channel makes me smile, Margaret and thank you for that! Be kind to yourself and try or stay cool. xoxo

    Good morning Margaret!
I look forward to your videos. I've always liked dresses but since in my 60's (67 now) I've had to wear shorts underneath my legs have changed.
I wear a lot of capris in the summer these days..
I drink tea when I get up & don't eat until lunch, I pick on fruit, nuts & raisins also try to drink plenty of water. I live in Colorado for last 35 years, originally from Boston grew up with the humidity but usually very dry here except for this summer.
I have always been a person who smiles at everyone, some people reciprocate others grumble by.
I enjoy visiting with you, I can relate to so much & feels like home.
    Have a great day!

Hi, from Merrimac Ma…muggy is right…I do use the air conditioner….a habit that I have had all my life….I hum…no particular tune, but when I shop I hum, through the years I have had so many people stop me and say that it makes them so happy…then we both laugh and to be a little silly I say …ok can you name that tune? Sometimes they will play along. I am 82 and love my life…I wear jewelry every day and makeup…invisible…yes I feel invisible…so I’ll keep on humming🥰

I changed a lot after Covid. I used to be so put together with a nice outfit, shoes and jewelry. Now it’s all about comfort for me now. I also don’t spend money on nails and hair every 4-5 weeks. If not going to work, I’ve become more isolated. I used to love to go out to dinner and drinks with friends. I thought it was just me, but I’ve changed quite a bit.

I always do nightly showers. I'm 75. I do some things different but my worst thing I do that I'm trying to change is looking at my phone before getting up!! Time slips away. But when beautiful fall weather comes, I'm gonna get up and outside. My patio needs sone TLC!! ❤❤

You look happy and so happy that you get hugs… not everyone does!! Love watching you❤ I’m also now a night time showerer and never use to be. It’s not age it’s that we’re home more and don’t have to interact with people as much. If we stink 🦨 only we smell it 😂 lol

Hi Margaret. I also don't like to wear Jewellery but do enjoy seeing it on others. if I go out I may put on , a ring ,a watch, sometimes small earrings and sometime along with it a fine dainty necklace, nothing clunky of very obvious, but the moment I come home, I remove all jewellery. I just like to feel free, I also don't like wearing my nails long or painting them, When I a home I am most comfortable in a camisole and cotton yoga type pants. I just like my body free from em cumbersome clothes. But to look like a citizen of planet earth, when I go out, I try to look pleasant enough and acceptable enough to pass as a normal citizen of planet earth. Finding certain getting older youtube influences with their tutorials and just healthy living advice in the past two years has helped me to keep going and to keep caring a little more about doing up my appearance . I live alone in the country area, so I feel blessed not having to dress extra special everyday. But I think keeping up our appearance is a good for our own moral and well being. I can go on and on... but just will end by saying that I appreciate your video talks and can relate to many things you say. Yes I have noticed many different changes within my body, soul, mind in the again process that for me are a good thing, And then their are other physical challenges that have come about in the past three years, that are not so great and that I am hoping to resolve, or keep learning to live with, that have made learn to slow down, and become more patient, with myself and others. ❤🙏 💕

Good Morning Margaret. What a great video. I must be aging at a bit younger age as at 62, have I ever changed. I love wearing dresses, but like wearing a dress to Church, the women look at me and snub me off? They all wear pants. Anywho, yep I’ve been invisible for a couple yrs. But I use to love to wear summer dresses, but now I don’t feel comfy in one, so I wear long shorts and or capris. Lol yep, I can’t sit on my corner of the couch without my legs being twisted under me. Lol. I’m so mellow now. I am lost since not working, but working on trying to not isolate as I have. I seem to be much more insecure? Oh well. It is what it is. Don’t you sleep better since showering at night? I sure do. I could listen to you all day everyday.
You’ve given me things to think about. Thank you Sweet Margaret. Have a blessed easy day.
