If you are going to keep drag racing this thing, I think you should do the S3 and S4 solenoid delete. This is the best way to make the auto last, unless you have figured out how to adjust the shift time (not line pressure) in the tune. I had a quick search for BA ECU pinouts, looks like S3 solenoid is on pin A17 and solenoid S4 is on pin A18, trace the wires, cut the wire, leave trans side of wire flapping in the wind, ground ECU side of each wire to ground via a 27 ohm, 5 watt resistor (the big white ceramic jobbies). That will make it last. It does sound like its shifting pretty well at the moment, which is surprising for an old BTR.

You took up the challenge and didn't get all serious with it and made so awesome videos. There were lots of smiles and laughs, that has to be a win
Use the factory window washer bottle and pump. Stick carburator jet in the end of the tube for adjustment and atomization. Cheap and effective.

Thank you guys. While many will say the build, the car and the challenge was your enjoyment too. I have no doubt the video editing and shooting was for all our benefits. So, for that I thank you both very much.
My only criticism, i believe where the vehicle lacked was in having such a heavy tune on the engine while running stock parameters on the gearbox.
But thats nit picking. Im impressed
Thanks mate. It actually didnt hold up all that bad even with all the torque reduction on shifts removed. Its fun to hate on it but really it all held up bloody well.

I guess i regret not road testing it and finding the gremlin and not running a 12 first hit. The car isnt registered so i guess we didnt really have a choice.

Who doesn't love the sound of a V8? But you CANNOT beat the cheap HP you get from bolting on a turbo. My mate spent $10K on a Cleveland that was good for 60K. It was an excellent engine...but the price. I have got 50% gains at the treads just by turning up my boost (still safe), adding a cheap Chinese intercooler and remapping the factory ECU. Love the channel. Could you be a little more Aussie, though? I want to see a Ned Kelly tattoo or the Southern Cross and always wear a stubbie holder with no bottom on your wrists yeah? Then you would fit in well in my country town. :)

Good to see our EA Falcon when you ran the 12.7 were out doing base runs with it and ended up with 16.9 ... not bad for center fire injection 300k engine and manual :). Loved the series and hope that we/others can join this year !! :)

cut a rusty datsun 120y's firewall, shoehorn the driveline with a welded diff in, sit in the back seat and you should run a nice little 10 atleast

Ha I did a compression test on one recently same thing oil in the spark plug holes/above the plug on some but ran perfectly 😆bloody unbelievable!

An rx8 with a blown motor would be the prefect donor. And its only been done once or twice on the planet as far as I can tell.

S5 solenoid is adjustable. Wind in for more line pressure. About 3/4 of a turn in my skid car gives very very sharp crisp gearchanges.
That's more that $1300 worth of fun.

That wastegate is nuts!
It's bigger than the exhaust.
Never weld a Falcon diff. Minispool is cheap and solid. Though a 3.45 XR6 diff gears is what you needs, more so with those big tyres.
Water injection? Windscreen washers do the job.
Temps? A bag of ice into the intake path.

Yeah but the F6 looks hot af! You should be proud of that beast. It was an F6 tune they baselined this car with they just didn’t load the auto box part. Meaning yours is only a couple of mods away from big power numbers too. Get some bigger injectors and a flash tuner to start with.

Great job, just really wish you guys would show more of the fab work. It's always fun to watch a low-buck turbo kit made by pros that works.
Ok mate will do. We actually filmed a bit more of it but not enough to do a full episode on the build, time was short also so the entire lot was done in 2 mornings before work.

Bloody impressive! $100 ($250 new) China turbo, NA motor with close to 300000km on it, crappy BTR, open Diff, no Intercooler (almost 80C iat’s) running 12’s and making 370rwhp. 😂

Could you show the process of the turboing process fellas, I'm in same boat as you and i have a n/a ba and want to start drag racing.... I w amt to be able to have good fun for a budget as I want to learn to. And also with regards to the rods. Would it be wise if I just flipped it upside down and just replaced rods with some bigger ones? Just for some safe, reliable fun as a beginner drag racer, I'd love it to last at least a year.

intercooler would probably take it down to 40 or 50 degrees, that'd get ya some density for not a lot of cash
If you Chuck it in drive then push into performance mode don't shift it manually, it will do the rest
