@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 Perhaps you might check out Malacanang if you could video there? The late Pres. Noy Noy Aquino did not live there, and from what I read, neither does Pres. Duterte. But there is a museum there that's open to the public but you need to make a reservation. I had a high school teacher who was married to the Director of Education, and our class was able to go there as a field trip, because at the time, the Dept. of Agriculture was across the Pasig from the palace and we had to observe how the staff would "milk" the cobras for venom ---ugh!! But the visit to the palace redeemed that horrific scene as I was totally in awe of the palace.---Also, near there is the restaurant Casa Roces which was the ancestral home of the Roces family which used to own the biggest publishing company in the Philippines before martial law was declared by Pres. Marcos. I think, this would be a good contrast to Cafe Juanita? Since I can't go there myself ---I now have anxiety about traveling on a very long flight from Dulles to Manila for fear of developing DVT, aside from the pandemic --- I'd just hope to see your take on these places. Thanks.

Stayed at The Intramuros & loved that bar on the roof. Sunset was fabulous. Very nice stay there. Hope to be back post Covid :)

Most Filipinos have never been to a restaurant with such views in Manila. As you've shown, the Bayleaf Hotel is a recent conversion. You are absolutely lucky as a tourist to eat at their restaurant. Thanks for taking us for a visit!

The last time that I stayed in Bay Leaf Hotel was in 2017. For me it's the best hotel in the city of Manila since it is enclosed inside the historical Intramuros area with awesomeview from above.. I enjoyed my one week stay just to stroll the city of Manila starting from Escolta walking tour with local and foreign tourists.

I'm so happy for this Restaurant's business ,seems that Diners have returned already .It is just so depressing ,if you dine in a restaurant /cafe and you're the only patron . Its just feel so horrible for the proprietor/tress. I will definitely dine there ,during my next vacation .I cancelled my travel to the Philippines thrice already . Fortunately ,I was able to travel to Greece last month ,but it is still chaotic /stressful at the airport ,due to COVID-19 test requirement and Vaccination proof ,as well. Thanks Marshall for another wonderful vlog. Didnt skip any ADS to help you recoup part of the cost of that mouthwatering Bulalo !!

I suggest you visit Bayleaf Cavite. Bayleaf Intramuros is a boutique hotel and the one in Cavite is an upmarket business hotel. Lyceum Manila is kinda old and Lyceum Cavite is the first resort-school in the Philippines.

I haven't taken my vacation in the Philippines, so I didn't know there's a Bayleaf hotel in intramuros. And our house is just one jeepney ride going to Bayleaf hotel. If this pandemic ends next year, we'll go there and experience what you experienced in Bayleaf hotel. 😊

You should definitely try to go back there at The Bayleaf Hotel & their Sky Deck during sunset. The sunset and the view of the city lights around Intramuros and the city of Manila during the evening are just so stunning to look at! You'll love it for sure, it's super romantic!😉😊
Those prices on the menu are pretty much the standard among fine dining restaurants in Intramuros e.g. Ilustrados, Barbara's, Cafe Ilang-ilang, Ristorante delle Mitrè, Cafe Real del Palacio, etc.

Stay at Bayleaf for 9 days.
Great hotel with great views from the sky deck. Food was good and the service was fantastic. The location is perfect. I highly recommend the Hotel. Harbor view seafood restaurant is near by. Well worth it. Best fried shrimp ever.

I didn't realize where Bayleaf Hotel was until you showed the picture of the old First Continental building which was the one standing in that street corner when I got my Architecture degree from the college next door, the Mapua Institute of Technology, in 1984. That area was my 'hood, early to mid-eighties! I didn't know they got rid of the old building and replaced it with a sleeker one. Thank you so much, Mr. Marshall, for these videos. You have no idea how much homesick expats like me appreciate this. I hope you're making a pile of dough with these videos and please keep 'em coming. From one of your early subscribers. Bay leaf was likely to be and ingredient to flavour your meal. It's commonly used in Adobo where you actually see the leaf served to you on your plate.
Yes, it's called laurel in Tagalog. Incidentally, Bayleaf Hotels, which also has a branch in Gen. Trias, Cavite is owned and operated by Lyceum University of the Phils., which was founded by Dr. Jose P. Laurel, former Phil. president.

So it is called Bayleaf Hotel. I saw a vlog of a couple who had some cocktails at a nice place with very nice views. They didn't mention the name of the place and I just learned the name of the place in your vlog. Thanks for the vlog, now i know the name of the place and where it is located. Fun fact: The hotel is owned by my alma matter Lyceum Manila. The school is just a few blocks away from that hotel. Most of the staff were graduate from Lyceum.

Been to the Bayleaf several times before with my father, when he used to teach Foreign/International Relations at the nearby Lyceum of the Philippines university, back in the 2013 - 2017 years. The view from the outside rooftop is just AMAZING.
