This week, Cody W3AMG will demonstrate how to make a private call using DMR (digital mobile radio). He'll walk you through all the steps for configuring your radio and making sure that your questions are answered.

I am interested in the 878UVII Plus. I have 2 TYT HTs 1 uhf only, and 1 UHF/VHF. MD380 no GPS.
I like these videos/tutorials for the 878UVII Plus.
Good Video. I see Anytone has more than the TYT. I may invest in an Anytone HT as shown in this video. I like the program layout.
TYT was alright when I got started. I just have bad luck when I choose a certain radio and the program that is used to program it just doesn't have a user friendly feel. i.e. I can't use the same TG names on more than one Zone. I have to alter the TG name so the program will accept it.
This on the CPS for the TYT MD 380 Radios UHF and the UV MD-380.

I think you're mistaken about the necessity of having both ends of a private connection putting each other's information into the radios beforehand. Only two things are needed. Brandmeister needs to know that the recipient is present on the system and the recipient's ID number. I tested this out just last night.
The other improvement would be that it is much easier to use the search function built into the CPS to look up the recipient's information. You can search by name, call, or DMR ID. It is extremely fast too.

good morning. finally found where I could comment.
Let me see if I understand what's going on here. The HT goes to the hotspot. The hotspot connects to the other hotspot via the internet which connects to the HT on the other end. It basically accomplishes the same thing as my cordless phone connected to my land line.
I understand connection to the internet allows digital systems to cover virtually the whole planet vs what a RF network of amatuer repeaters could. Sometimes it seems like it would be simpler to just make a phone call. This seems like one of those times.
Or just make a discord voice call or a zoom call. Yeah.
Is a super code plug required to do this? Does the super code cover all of Europe, (Spain Specifically)?

Are there any plans to add a way for someone you're calling privately to just press a key to add your info for that call only?
If someone calls while your radio or hotspot is off, will you be notified once you activate your radio?
No, it won't notify you.
There must be another way to do this. I have people trying to private call me from time to time and I'm sure they aren't going through this process just to private call someone they don't even know. Its got to be easier than this. I understand your wanting people to use the software but you should probably title the video to insinuate that rather than just make a private call on DMR.

These" HAM Operators" act like they're holy gate keepers. It's no wonder their hobby is dying .
Not to mention the ham community is full of " Karens " these sad hams usually worship government as God , they're good little peasants getting all their permission slips because you can't drive a car without a license it's physically impossible just like the ptt it's impossible to push without a license, licenses fixes all our worldly problems, oh wait it doesn't it's just a method of control and profit.
@@BridgeComSystemsIncy'all ham operators got some bad reputation when it comes to the general public, are y'all aware of that , most folks have bad experiences with licensed operators and that's what pushes many to not get licenses.

It could be. Normally, you'll see this frequency used in simplex for HotSpots.
