    I know this video is a year old, but I went ahead and dowloaded the CPS for the 878UVII ver 2.05 so that I can "wander around" and see what you are doing so when I get my 878UVII Plus, I can get even more familiar. Good videos on how to program the 878 UVII Plus. 73s de WB4UR (Virginia)

    Question:
    Baofeng has dual watch, dual channel and in dual channel mode you can choose whether the 2nd channel is audible or silent. I cannot find a way to do this with the AT-878UVIII Plus. On the AT-578UVIII Pro it does it automatically but only displays the channel in VFO mode until you switch to channel B. Then it switches to channel mode and unmutes and channel mutes but still stays in channel mode. Am I missing a step?

    Okay, DMR... No problem for one repeater or a pi what ever. BUT, the problem arises when you travel. When you are home you have the parrot, the disconnect and about 8 other TG's or private entries in a zone. The system is so happy. You open that zone, change the "channel" and key down. Voila, you're talking.
    Now comes the hard part. You want to add 72 more digital repeaters and be able to seamlessly talk to all your peeps when you travel near one of these repeaters. Sure you can simply add the repeater and then select said repeater, click list then select the contact but you're way to lazy for that. You just want to select the zone, (repeater) then channel over to the contact that you put in the zone but alas you must do this for every single repeater.
    How in the how and without the help of The Apple Dumpling Gang can we make this mucho ezeeo?

    • @BridgeComSystemsInc
      @BridgeComSystemsInc  Год назад

      You need to have a Windows Based Tablet computer with you. These are commercial radios that are being used in the ham world. Having a computer to program them makes things so much easier. That being said, you can still program and add channels 'on the fly' from the front panel of the radio.

    Question I am brand new into DMR and digital. Does digital require internet to access? I am assuming so?
    Also how good is the uv878ii plus for strictly anolog in the event that there was no access to internet, etc?
    It seems like the most versatile option, and even for just analog it looks like it has the best blend of battery life, durability, and quality tx and Rx , but don't know for sure

    • @abccde3832
      @abccde3832 Год назад

      Correct me if I'm wrong. You don't need internet access. However the repeater that you connect to does. So if you have radio communites that set everything up you connect to your local repeater -> repeater talks to internet access point and you are speaking to everyone at that point.

    • @BridgeComSystemsInc
      @BridgeComSystemsInc  Год назад +1

    Do they make the software for Mac. This is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. Not everyone has a Windows computer. Windows computers are terrible and nothing but problems and junk so I cant understand why these million dollar radio companies are dropping the ball in making the software for Mac.

      No software for mac specific. You have to use some sort of translator.

      Did you kick your feet and stomp when you were trashing windows? Lol

      Macs are computers designed for a child. If you need to do anything serious, you need a windows machine. Get rid of the Mac, you’ll be glad you did when you discover how much better windows is.

      @@andynorton1970 this is... Not true in the slightest. It's a more user-friendly unix-like OS. I'm a professional software engineer who develops exclusively using a Mac. I've driven likely millions in revenue with just code that I've written, on a Mac.
      Funny thing is I used to think the same way and trashed Macs all day long until I got accustomed to using one. Productivity went through the roof and I'm not messing around with my computer to get stuff done anymore.
