The story behind is that Gumi/Giovanni (the girl) has this friend but then he died saving another boy who was drowning and now she is trying reach him using a paper airplane (didn't work) then a balloon and last a rocket. That is what you see in the picture. It's based on a book, forgot what it's called though. If you listen to the original it will make you cry. It made me cry.
The book is called Ginga Tetsudō no Yoru. It's so moving if u really understand it's inner. These days, I have cried many times because of my friend's death who I just knew two days.....
