if you think about getting a new cpu and mainboard , try going for AMD. i switched to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and its a crazy CPU that outperforms the i5 13600k in games like fortnite. if you want to spend little bit of more money, go for the 7800X3D. This CPU costs 70$ more and needs DDR5 Ram but it is one of the best CPUs you can get.
The people trying to explain issues like how the 3060 would be bottlenecking when it’s literally a Cpu based game. Infact your FPS is quite horrendous because you clearly don’t do optimizations, but with similar specs I get around 450 to 500fps avg, this is simply because the 13 600 K is going to carry because the game is CPU based
If you crank the video settings, you need a VERY strong GPU to get decent framerates. However, if you are gonna run in performance mode, you could probably get away with a 970 and still have good frames. Regardless of settings, you need a strong ass CPU to get a smooth experience especially in this season.

I think your cpu + gpu combo is a bit unbalanced. Your cpu can handle a much faster gpu even up to like a 4070ti. It is good if you are looking to upgrade the gpu in the future though, I’m guessing that’s why you got it, I hope you power supply is future proofed too then! My question though was that I have an i5 12400f and 3070, and I only get about 160-180 fps in game, is this due to having a worse cpu or am I doing something wrong. Great content keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback and I completely agree! The only reason I’m getting good frames is because Fortnite is a cpu heavy game. I’m every other game I don’t get nearly as good performance. I’m upgrading to a 4060ti OC soon and that would significantly help my other games with some minor increase in Fortnite. Also you need to optimise your pc and fortnite, the game is horrible if you don’t. You’re missing out on 100s of fps, I recommend @codelife for some great entry level simple tweaks. It depends on what you want for the game! I play competitively so I have it on low always for the most fps and least input delay. But if you’re playing for fun(which 99% of players are) then I’d recommend higher graphics as it is more enjoyable.

i only lose 5-10 fps on native res, Fortnite is a cpu bound game a 3060 isn't even necessary for this fps. and a 14 core cpu is more than enough to get 300+ fps on the lowest settings. hope this helps

hi, thanks for the support ❤ there's this one book by Phyllis Lane called: 10,000 Hours. it shows that anyone of the ages 13-55 can master any practice if they put 10,000 hours into it. That doesn't mean to be above average or proficient with that practice it usually takes 500-2k hours to be great on whatever you do (depending on genetics) so yes anyone can be good at building it's just about the time you put into it!

Absolutely, focus on your aim. It’s one of the most important things, also try to be consistent on your edits instead of very fast. It’s better to hit every single edit than doing quad edits at an entry level. Obviously there’s much more but these are the most important. Hope this helps!
thanks for the sub bro, yes there are multiple reason for these fps drops. fortnite is a horrible game to run without optimising it on pc. even a 4090 would hitch because of how bad the code is. i would recommend @codelife for fortnite + tweaks. he's a great entry level tweaker and shows everything in depth. hope this helps
When you were in game lobby, you were having NO frame drops at all. I have the same specs as you (better GPU: 4060). However I experience frame drops upto 80 fps (for like a split second) while in lobby/gliding to location in game. Can you or anyone else help me out with this issue??? hi, your pc is subpar for fortnite and i used to have your exact specs, there's still stuff you can do though 1. enable XMP 2. clear your temp data 3. use the lowest settings in fortnite 4 use stretched res 5. optimise your config files 6. if worst comes to worst you can reset your pc then optimise it after, that worked for me @codelife has videos on all of these. hi, thanks for the reply. They're call *hitches* and yes they're common for this game even with good parts. Fortnite is a suboptimal game where tweak and performance boosts are necessary. I would recommend you activate XMP in your BIOS and watch some of @codelife 's videos on performance boosts. there are many videos for your specific motherboard brands BIOS give it a search on youtube and you should see your issues fixed ❤

prob ur settings if not that disable all your background apps, then enable xmp, then do some of @codelife 's tweaks if that doesnt work full reset your pc then do it again

To be blunt, I also have the 13600k and RTX 3060 Ti, Epic/High settings with DLSS enabled but in DirectX11 and i'm getting 120-180 fps in game. Why make the game look like crap?
Because I play competitive and the low settings give me an advantage in framerate input delay and everything being more visible (no grass blocking my view or heavy shadows) thanks for the comment, it's greatly appreciated

The R5 3600 is an bottleneck to your 3080 id assume a part of the problem is that, from what I can see @prallel isn't running a standard resolution - it looks stretched to some degree, this can increase fps - also an more obvious one his settings are essentially on low and performance modes. try changing resolution first and game settings, in the future if you can id upgrade your CPU.

ah you have to use OBS studio and then right click on game capture then stretch to screen, or you can stretch the video after in a video editing software. hope this helps

I can give multiple reasons, just lmk which of these you've already done. 1. Enable XMP 2. Overclock your cpu (only if needed) 3. updated windows 4. Updated the latest GPU driver 5. disabled background application's 6. using too many apps at once, when you're playing fn you should only have that discord(if you use it), and obs if you stream

Yo, I dont understand how you get this performance. I have an ryzen 5 7600x with a 3060 ti, 32gb ram 6000mhz with xmp profile and same ssd and case. I have very good temps, like 60C but I get max around 180 fps.... My Cpu and gpu are constantly at 40% usage and my ram is at like 50%. I scanned pc for viruses and everything but it doesnt seem to go up... any tips? ( also I play stretched with every performance option available and far distance)
I was trying to point out that I am buying a pre-built pc and the cheaper one contains i5 12400f cpu and rtx 4060 gpu and the second one contains i5 13400f cpu and rtx 3060 gpu, and if it we worth buying the one with better cpu rather than better gpu @@prallel
You can use a stretched rez, make sure you have XMP enabled from your BIOS. you can also tweak your windows and fortnite. i recommend @codelife he's a great entry tweaker. hope that helps

No, the 13600k has 8 more cores, 8 more threads 17mb more L2 cache and is 2 years newer. A similar ryzen cpu to the 13600k is a ryzen 7 7700x. hope this helps❤

I am on 1440p no stretch res with a 4060 and a i5 13600KF
And only get 90 fps
4060 is a 1080p card, switch to performance, not dx11/12, epic view distance, everything else low

3060 and 13600k are well balanced, with very little bottlenecking.
He's also playing at a 1680x1050, so the gpu load is less.

hi, thanks for the reply. They're call *hitches* and yes they're common for this game even with good parts. Fortnite is a suboptimal game where tweak and performance boosts are necessary. I would recommend you activate XMP in your BIOS and watch some of @codelife 's videos on performance boosts. there are many videos for your specific motherboard brands BIOS give it a search on youtube and you should see your issues fixed ❤

prob ur settings if not that disable all your background apps, then enable xmp, then do some of @codelife 's tweaks if that doesnt work full reset your pc then do it again

To be blunt, I also have the 13600k and RTX 3060 Ti, Epic/High settings with DLSS enabled but in DirectX11 and i'm getting 120-180 fps in game. Why make the game look like crap?
Because I play competitive and the low settings give me an advantage in framerate input delay and everything being more visible (no grass blocking my view or heavy shadows) thanks for the comment, it's greatly appreciated

hi, your cpu is subpar for fortnite because it relies way more on the cpu compared to the gpu, there's still stuff you can do though
1. enable XMP
2. clear your temp data
3. use the lowest settings in fortnite
4 use stretched res
5. optimise your config files
6. optimise your windows
7. if worst comes to worst you can reset your pc then optimise it after, that worked for me

can you tell me what tweaks to do play. i keep having bad stutters and 80 fps when i go to named areas even w doing what a lot of videos have told me. my specs are a 3080 rtx gpu, an AMD ryzen 5 3600 6 core cpu, 32 gb of ram. if you could tell me what do do to make me stop having stutters and have better fps/less delay i’d be delighted.
The R5 3600 is an bottleneck to your 3080 id assume a part of the problem is that, from what I can see @prallel isn't running a standard resolution - it looks stretched to some degree, this can increase fps - also an more obvious one his settings are essentially on low and performance modes. try changing resolution first and game settings, in the future if you can id upgrade your CPU.
Ur cpu is bottlenecking your gpu it means u need to upgrade your cpu for rtx 3080 something like i5 13th gen or Ryzen 7 7700x
Make sure fortnite is on ssd and if still try directx 12 low everything

How do you make the video stretched. When I do it, it stays as native resolution and not stretched when recording.
ah you have to use OBS studio and then right click on game capture then stretch to screen, or you can stretch the video after in a video editing software. hope this helps

I dont understand. I have an i5 12600kf and a rx 6800 and im not getting stable fps in game. I have ddr4 32 gigs of ram with a b660 motherboard and a 750w gold psu. I have no idea what im doing wrong, someone please help me out.
I can give multiple reasons, just lmk which of these you've already done.
1. Enable XMP
2. Overclock your cpu (only if needed)
3. updated windows
4. Updated the latest GPU driver
5. disabled background application's
6. using too many apps at once, when you're playing fn you should only have that discord(if you use it), and obs if you stream

Yo, I dont understand how you get this performance. I have an ryzen 5 7600x with a 3060 ti, 32gb ram 6000mhz with xmp profile and same ssd and case. I have very good temps, like 60C but I get max around 180 fps.... My Cpu and gpu are constantly at 40% usage and my ram is at like 50%. I scanned pc for viruses and everything but it doesnt seem to go up... any tips? ( also I play stretched with every performance option available and far distance)

You can use a stretched rez, make sure you have XMP enabled from your BIOS. you can also tweak your windows and fortnite. i recommend @codelife he's a great entry tweaker. hope that helps

No, the 13600k has 8 more cores, 8 more threads 17mb more L2 cache and is 2 years newer. A similar ryzen cpu to the 13600k is a ryzen 7 7700x. hope this helps❤
