In the US, those are called "Tooth Picks". The ones with a frilly plastic decoration on one end, or sometimes they look like a sword or an umbrella,..those are for garnishes, such as olives, or to put into a sandwich, to keep them together. To be clear, the umbrella type I've never seen stuck in a sandwich, just tropical type drinks.
To cover my chipboard I first put down a fine layer of white embossing powder. I don't need any other products than I are already using and my colours are true.
Absolutely Karen, I can’t remember if I mentioned that, probably not 🙈🙈, but anything that covers and gives a white base works, hope you’ve had fun with this technique 🥰🥰🥰
I wish I could afford an ever growing supply of WOW embossing powders and ink myself !!!! Then reality clicks in and yeah back down to earth I fall. But love these fun techniques you've introduced us too. And I have a jar of buttons some huge too that I could definitely play with. Also that would include seeing how they hold up in our front load washer. I might want to use a lingerie bag to protect them. Also air dry not through the dryer which though I run mine on medium to light temperatures never high still might be too hot and cause some delamination of the enamel. Lots of stuff to think about and play with our own experimenting. Thanks for your shares. Would love to take a class from you at the end of your garden and share the 12 person table with 11 others too. How fun.
Thank you for showing us these fabulouse ways to use embossing powder ,i have never even thought about it. I just found your youtube channel yesterday and i have been binging your videos almost without stop for a day and a night (well i had to sleep about 4 hours lol ) . New subscriber here from norway . I have to get me some more embossing powders ,its not easy getting hold of Wow embossing powders and other wow products in norway but there are some i can buy-or i have seen 2 diffrent packs of 3 powders in one online store-so i guess i will start there.. i cant wait to start plating with them
Oh thank you so much, I really appreciate the sub 🤗🤗 I love that you’re going to experiment 🥰🥰 you could contact sales@wowembossingpowder.co.uk as well, I could be wrong, but I thought they had a new distributor in Norway, but I could have got that wrong 🥴🥴🥴😂🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much Marion I really really enjoyed watching you create all those beautiful and stunningly gorgeous pieces of embossing. I really really love ❤❤❤❤ them all absolutely fantastic and fabulous too. You are never ever boring!!!!! You make my heart ❤️ smile . Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
These 2 embossing videos were fun and what awesome results. Love it. Now I have to find some big enough chipboard solid shapes, and I’m not having much luck. I’ll keep looking. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you, Marion. I have make feathers earrings with chipboard and embossing powder. Three different size feathers where the dies already have a small hole for the findings and have come out beautiful. I have other jewelry dies for the same, but I got really sick and I have no strength to do much. I therefore, like to watch different crafters with new ideas so that if I get better, I can do some. I love mixed media so it’s really nice of you to do these mini masterpieces so that crafters can incorporate all types of ideas. God Bless you and thank you once more.
Hi Marion! Beautiful embossing ideas! You're just so clever and so creative! Your creativity has no end! I thoroughly enjoyed watching you create all these beautiful embossed ideas! Thank you for sharing your process. Blessings 💗 😊
Back in the 70’s I had art in Jr High and we did enameling on copper. The teacher placed the pieces in a kiln and when she pulled them out she did the swirl with a metal pick. It was beautiful then, as well as now on card board!
@@marionemberson ours did similar, but she changed it up quite a bit! I’m an antique, so those days of schools using kilns are probably gone! She even had us ‘painting flowers’ with crayons you would melt on to the card board. Can you imagine that with a class of 12-13 year olds? She also boiled some bones and had me sand them for jewelry. I worked fast, and she kept having to come up with something more for me! She was a gem.
I stumbled on your Masterclasses for enameling late this evening...now it's even later in the night...what a treasure to come across! I am so excited to try this technique. I have done just a bit of putting a few layers of gold or silver embossing powder on a floral die cut to make it look metallic, but this is so far beyond that. Thank you for sharing your enameling adventures with us. I can see why your get so excited as each piece is unique. When you put the "high" white granules on the pieces and used the toothpick to move it, some of the pieces look like they are painted with little white flowers and stems...so beautiful. I have a lot of embossing powders, and parchment paper so I can start right away to see what I can come up with. Thank you again... Granny in Mpls, MN USA (PS: I love to listen to you talk...love your accent!)
Looks like toothpicks! I love this shiny, glossy, technique you're using. So very pretty. Then I remembered actually making a couple a few years ago. Put them on ribbon to hang or wear as necklaces. Used little sample chips of kitchen counter tops! And we in America also call this paper copier/computer paper.
Your technique's are absolutely gorgeous and amazing! I'm so glad I happened upon your videos. I'll definitely be watching in awe of your talents. Thank you for sharing, from Minnesota, USA ❤ P.S. I love your accu! ☺️
I tried the button trick while watching the video and I'm amazed at the final result! Love discovering new ways to embellish my projects and use my supplies on hand :)

Hi. Such a great technique that renders fabulous results, thank you for sharing your skills. My mum used to cut oranges in half to poke the cheese and pineapple sticks into so that they looked like edible hedgehogs plated up on the buffet table. Aah, sweet childhood memories.
Thanks Marion for another great demo I love the button idea as a dressmaker it will be great to be able to make a unique button for a garment that I will create. Thanks again ❤

Thanks Maya, so glad you enjoyed them 🥰🥰🥰
They’re known as toothpicks here in the US, but cocktail pick sounds so much nicer and more accurate description.
Thanks Bonnie, I think it because we used them with cheese and pineapple chunks back in the day at cocktail parties 😂😂🤗🤗🤗
