Mark Holcomb is an Austin, TX based musician and a guitarist for the 5-piece progressive metal band, Periphery, and his solo project Haunted Shores. The band's latest release, Periphery IV: Hail Stan was met with rave reviews and reached #1 on the US Independent Albums chart.
The band were Grammy nominated for their song 'The Price is Wrong' and are credited with spearheading a new wave of innovative rock and metal musicians utilising creative and playful rhythms with progressive elements, particularly a specific right hand picking technique previously associated with less melodic passages. They are also wonderful human beings.
Mark plays PRS guitars and Seymour Duncan pickups/pedals. Visit periphery.net for more. Live in London is out now.

"Adam Nolly Stupidgood" -Mark Holcomb 2021
I saw you and Tommy in Bend a week or two ago. I had no idea you were hanging with Plini, Mark Holcomb, etc. You certainly are of the highest musical caliber - I just didn't know you were friends! So cool!
Glad to see this episode included Marks audio 👌🏻
Yeah error fixed!
Would have loved to get an extended conversation about both of your thoughts on how social media is impacting younger musicians. That was the most interesting part of the episode to me. Thanks for the episode!
This episode could go on forever and I'd keep loving it. Two of my favourites guitarrists together, thank you both for the inspiration ♥️
Definitely feel i hit a wall like Mark did and taking that time away, in my case over a year helped massively. I was on the verge of selling all my gear pre covid and now im back to playing daily only playing what i enjoy, great podcast!
Great to hear!
Kuya Mark is awesome
I would love to have Mark be one of my players in my D&D campaign now that I know he does voice acting.
Saw Marks Instagram post..... and here I am!
Ladies and Djentlemen, Mark Holcomb.
I’m learning I was a fan before I knew who you were, if that makes sense😄 Amazing talent and love this podcast series. Being a Periphery fan and more so a Mark Holcomb fan, I enjoyed this one thoroughly. Two brilliant talents talking shop. Good stuff!

Very cool! Thanks for the interesting conversation Mike!
Never knew you lived with George! This was a sick episode!
Always down for a punny joke. Awesome podcast, happy to have found this channel!
There's something to be said about the 15s clip. As for building connections I have no idea, but from friends and personal experience I can say that a lot of people go to those 15s clips when they are in a really bad place and they can actually help you get out of there. Of course, it is not gonna move you the same way a 16min long song (Reptile I'm looking at you), but I guess the constant dopamine shot from several small clips can help. Though I guess that the argument can be made for the case where they actually just drag you deeper in your shit.
But who am I to talk but a random guy on the internet lol
I love that intro video!
Thx from Germany!
Mrak!
