- Kody finally starts his build on his new Yamaha YFZ 450r! In this video we put on a full Rossier engineering exhaust and a Vortex ECU. Other build plans consist of new handlebars, grips. wheels and tires. Keep on the look out for a comparison of stock/modified YFZ 450r's!

You’ll be glad you got the vortex. I spent weeks debating on getting a vortex bc I didn’t want to spend that much money but man am I glad I did spend the money!! Vortex is hands down the best upgrade I’ve done to my 18 yfzr and I’ve dumped thousands into my quad! I just got a Rossier R5 for my quad. Switching from yoshimura rs2 to the rossier r5. A good thing to have on hand is a TPS test harness, peak racing products sells them for 35 bucks. The tps voltage has to be spot on to get the most out of the vortex and if the voltage is off by a lot it’ll give you a lot of issues. I bought my quad brand new and the tps voltage wasn’t set right from the factory and I had issues when I first got my vortex until I got the tps voltage calibrated. You’ll love the way that quad runs with those upgrades, turns the yfzr into a completely different machine!!

Wow cool upgrades! the FCI intake will also add like 5-7 hp
GYTR set up makes actually more HP, dyno proven
@@lifeatv The GYTR set up is just the air filter adapter on the stock intake tube. The FCI intake really helps the motor breath and it revs noticeable faster. Also for 3-4 more HP, you can change the cams and use the 06 yfz carb model intake cam and the 09 efi yfz450r exhaust cam.

Did you hear about the issues with the clutch basket on the newer yfz's? I just picked up a 2021se too and was reading that its better to swap the clutch basket out for one off an 09?
That is correct, it’s on our to do list

what setting did you guys use on the vortex? did you just use the setting that came on the vortex
For now we’re using the one that came with it, seems to work perfect no bogging or anything

Why no FCI?
Dyno results showed bigger HP gain with the GYTR set up, but can’t go wrong with either

@@Fox250R to be honest can’t remember lol at the time FCi wasn’t popular I just remember Pete and I had ours originally tuned by the same guy and he said mine for whatever reason had a little bit more

Never seen factory 43 but agree on Rath. But the price of Rath is gnarly and they make a good product but there lead times and terrible customer service have us probably never trying them again 🤷♀️ but to each there own man!
@@lifeatv factory 43 is by far the nicest out there. rath takes a while but it also a top tier product, their fitment isnt great. but i like it over the alba/rock/tusk stuff, the factory 43s have incredible fitment and dont take forever
