I remind everyone that I am not an organ builder by profession, but only an enthusiast.
therefore the portative is intended for personal and private use and not intended for sale.
the internal parts are built according to tradition, referring to the artisan organ literature.
the aesthetics is inspired by the iconography of medieval portable organs, and with common decorative elements in gothic and medieval styles, like the gothic mullioned window or the crenelated turret.
Hi guys, to celebrate the completion of the portative organ, and waiting to be ready to play, I edit this timelaps of the construction.
More than anything else for new visitors to the channel, see you soon with some news
POV: it's 3 am and you get a sudden motivation to build an instrument
Hilarious! Levity always welcome!
Haha
Astonishing! I've been working with wood for 50 years, and I wouldn't even consider taking on a project like this. I thought I was doing good when I made my own five string banjo as a teenager. To think this was designed in Medieval times is mind blowing.
Thank you! yes the builders of the time were truly ingenious, even today the classic solutions are the best for these instruments.
The first video was released in October 2020. Both the craftsmanship and the video recording have reached the highest standards. This is really an amazing job! And of course, inspired many organ lovers as well
Thanks Xiaohu!
This organetto is such an incredible masterpiece! I once had the chance to manufacture a single(!) pipe at an organ builder's workshop according to their hints and instructions, so I can roughly tell how much love, engagement, passion and effort was put into this complete instrument. Congratulations for this exceptional work!
Thanks!
This was fascinating. The chest works just like on reed organs. I guess it would make sense for this portive
Awesome!
Thanks!
Wonderful video. A triumph of craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Rob!
Quel travail magnifique !
Grazie
Grazie Marco!
This is a magnificent build. I’m always much stingier with glue. What a huge project.
Thanks! yes, I'm moving in that direction, less glue and more joints
Bravo davvero 👏🏻
Grazie mille!
Great video! Thoroughly enjoyed watching this process. The wood is beautiful. An amazing finish! Great job!
Thank You!
What craftsmanship! Such a beautiful instrument
Thanks robert!
Simply beautiful!
Thanks JGB!
Never seen something THAT cool!
Thank You Paul!
If I carried on with power tools like this in high school wood-shop, I’d have been excommunicated!
Thanks for the comment. However, I'm not a luthier, and I don't even want to demonstrate particular skills in woodworking, I simply built a portative organ and I wanted to show it.
I prefer to concentrate on the craftsmanship, although I would say never cut with a chisel towards your other hand and don’t chop saw small pieces. Do as I say and not as I do comes to mind. Wonderful execution of a grand project
thank you wow
Thanks !
How beautiful! Meticulous craftsmanship.
I've been thinking for some time - I need a Portative Organ .
Thanks!
This is totally awesome video! I enjoyed every second of your wonderful work and it is very educational to see all hidden inside parts - from wooden plank to nice sounding organ. Many thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I really appreciate it
This is fascinating, almost hypnotic!
I'm glad you like it!
Ma che bravo!!! Queste sì che sono soddisfazioni!!! Questa è tecnologia: manodopera e passione infinita!!!🥳🥳
Grazie Virginia!
Fantastic! Thanks!
Thanks Sir!
No wonder these cost 5 to 10 thousand Euros! I know the work involved as I built several larger organs myself.
Wonderful! Thank you for the journey,
Thanks!
Bravo!!!!
Que trabalho maravilhoso.
Obrigado!
So great to see the complete construction.
Even it shows only the highlights and in a timelapse format it's impressive !
Did you use all of your crafting tools? I stopped counting after a few minutes of video ;-)
Grazie maestro for your effort - a real reason to celebrate it is !
Thanks Sir Synth, I don't even know if I've used them all, but I think so
Outstanding.
Thanks!
BRAVO !!!
Grazie!

So interested in making organ
yes, it is a very fascinating instrument.
Perfeito
Grazie!
Now, we are waiting with bated breath for the public recital!
Yes!
Very nice
Thank You!
So much respect, you're a great craftsman! Very cool to see. Are you a wood worker by day or just very handy?
Thank You!
Fantastic job. Although you're a madman to make long straight cuts on a bandsaw freehand and without a fence.
Thank You!
This is te reason why the accordion was invented ºwº
👍🎹.
I hope i made first organ in turkey. Thanks for information.
Excelente trabalho!
Excellent video and build! You have earned a new subscriber.
My only problem with this video is that you do not list any of the AWESOME music we hear playing in the background. Please add a list of tracks (tune titles, composers, and where we may buy or stream the tracks if possible) to the description. Thanks!
Thanks Andrew, I'm very pleased. Good advise for the background music, I'll write down the track in the description.
I would have thought that some organ music might be better? But a great video and an awesome build. Well done.
I'm really enjoying working through these videos, but I've only made one pipe so far. It works, but I'm really looking forward to you publishing the measurements for the other parts so I can order some wood. Any news on that?
Thanks Tony, in the next video I will talk about the news for next year, including the organ project
Great job on the build, it's very nice to see the organ finished
Thanks Jordan!
💕💕❤❤💘💘
Great video! Congratulations for your creation!!! Ps: I don’t remember the use of the 14:22 lever…
Thanks! it is to depressurize the bellows
Hello I am amazed by your creation is it possible to purchase one similar to this?
Thanks! write me in private, vimana2009@libero.it
hey there, how do you calculate the pipe sizing? or do you just have a print for all of them?
Hi Sem, I've create my own scale after few test based from an old small scale open diapason
I'm almost afraid to ask..are the plans for this building available?
Don't worry, you're not the only one asking. The projects are ready, they will be of a version similar to this one but improved. I just need to wrap up some legal stuff because I'm going to put them up for sale.
"Hm ... I'm making a video about building a portative organ ... what music would be best to play over it? ... Bollywood, of course!" 😂
Do you have a construction plan for this?
What inspired you to make this Portable Wooden Organ?
I have heard the portable organs of other organ builders play and I immediately liked them.
5:10 marshmallow keys
, Yes😄
Also, Did it REALLY Take you Over an Eternity to make it?
Yes, because I only worked there a few hours a week. However, it's a very complex work, I think that by working on it every day I can do it in a month or two.
I thought an Eternity was ENDLESS!
Yeah You're right, i'ts an Italian expression to say "a long time"
14:09 could you tell me what that button is for?
It's to depressurize the bellows
Should never use titebond flue only hot hide glue is appropriate!
You're absolutely right, but this is not a strictly filological construction. Thanks for your comment!
I was really disappointed at the end, that we didn't see and hear it being played.
There are a lot of video where i play this organ in the Channel. Just check the homepage
Are you kidding I'm not God I couldn't do that...
Utterly transfixed
Thanks!
What? No sound sample? Who would do such a thing? Booo Hisss.....
Hi, I've several video where I play the organ, check my channel.
