I have always been known for my love of music. Her music is my all time favorite. I hate it because her music really brings out the emotions in me. I had the pleasure of meeting her when she came to Los Angeles. She gave me the most amazing hug. Her soul is pure and full of love.
I was SO honored to have been at this performance. She should be SO famous already. When she performed outside with the cellist I was moved to tears & not just "oh how cute, a perfect tear" like "oh my gawd, if people see this I'll be committed" kind of crying. It was even better because I got to watch Cheryl Waters watch Valerie in awe.
Other people have already said a lot of this, but I feel moved to put in my 2 cents. This music is SO expressive and so REAL. Not just the singing, though that is amazingly expressive, but the instruments are a perfect match to the expression. She plays simply, but does so many little things that add feeling to the instrumental portion. I HOPE she never makes the mistake that James Taylor made and gets a band. There is an expressiveness in a solo act that gets lost in a band. Not that this music is anything like James Taylor except for its expressiveness, but when I first heard him it was solo and the expressiveness overwhelmed me. I just had the same experience with Valerie's music. She also seems to have a soul as beautiful and down to earth as her music. I hope she continues to bless us with her music for many years to come.

Performed in Pittsburgh summer of 2014 outdoor festival, she was fantastic, hope she becomes huge though due to her extreme talent probably won't. A beautiful performer, this is what a singer really looks like, not a pop princess.
Her music is so relaxing, I lose myself in thoughts when I listen to her singing, very touching. Hearing her sing makes you feel like this is how you are, how it is meant to be, and I don't want her to stop singing out my lfe.
I love the song Goodnight Irene. I was just thinking I’d like to hear her sing Woody Guthrie and although Goodnight Irene isn’t a Guthrie song, I got chills listen to her version. She’s awesome.
