Ive seen you guys out there. We live in CO. Dont be suprised if some dude with a grey 550 (white mammoth ) starts asking a bunch of questions.
Thanks for watching the video! The bubble was on the sidewall of the tire. Did you buy your tires for Stazworks? They’re the only place I know that sells the g275s and will also true them to be round so they hopefully wear evenly.
That’s rad that the how to mount a TC to a flatbed video brought you to our channel. It’s still kinda surreal that people even watch our videos. I’m looking forward to meeting ya on the road. Hopefully ill spot your mammoth and 5500 before you spot us 🤘🤘
@@thecumminscamper bro…. same on the sidewall. I replaced the one but a trip to mammoth and back made the other three wear like my truck was all wheel drive or something. Each individual tread was .5” lower from front to back…. Like 1/2 of a pyramid. We replaced all four a month ago. EOG out of Denver built our truck and they take exceptionally good care of their family… especially when incidentals like this happen. Even at cost, these things are pricey. They also true them on site which is some A+ shiiiz. Shoutout to Elevation! I’ll keep a lookout for you two. ~Gas instead of spare tire guy
What’s the down side of putting your spare on front receiver? In the way of hammock set up??
Airflow and if the spare tire holder fails that would cause a ton of destruction. I’ve had my spare from the 3500 on the front and I was always worried about the idea of running it over one day on the wrong bump.
@@thecumminscamper ya don’t want to pull a dukes of hazard with that rig.
Shew too much work lol
That little torque wrench goes high enough for your lugs?
Nope, not even close. The audio of my voice is a little quiet during that segment but I mention how this won’t work. We used a regular breaker bar
@@thecumminscamper
We have a 5500 on the farm.
Lug torque is in the neighborhood of 130ft-#.
.
Although it is over a decade old, we got a recall.
Too much torque snaps the lugs...
... leading to my wheels passing me on the road.
Probably a bad idea.
Dude, looks like your lady almost crushed her fingers under that 200lb spare rolling off the truck bed 😮
It was close! Keep the hands clear of the big tire
lets talk about load ratings.
What would you like to talk about related to load ratings? Tires are rated for 6395 pounds each, rear axle weight is 12k. Surplus of almost 800lbs total.
,you might have the tire flipped? It should hav3 a valve stem.
I’ve learned it’s a specialty recessed valve stem. It requires an adaptor to be accessible for an air hose. The design is so you remove the risk of ripping your valve stem off the tire.
How did your buddy Dalton know it was gonna blow?
Oh i just saw the comment about the "bubble". Good work! With the wheel swap and film making. Keep it up
Thanks Jerry for watching and commenting. Yea, the tire developed a small tumor and I kept on driving like a ding dong for about 3 weeks before it went BOOM 😂
What tires are you gonna get?
Another round of Goodyears. This new set I will rotate. This old set I only rotated the fronts from side to side
@@thecumminscamper ya it’s a bitch to rotate them to the rear!
Almost seems easier to replace the tire. Not the rim. Similar to what a semi would do
I agree with the value of just swapping the tire. I’ve never done that so I’m a little intimidated to do that in an “emergency” situation. In a controlled environment I’d love to learn how to change a tire in that fashion
@@thecumminscamper only issue still need to balance it. But just idea
@@scubieman I’d carry a bead bag for balancing the tire in the case of your suggestion. Dunno if you’ve seen those but you toss the bag into the tires and they self balance semi well
@@thecumminscamper
On our semi-truck 22.5 duals in the rear and 24.5 up front, they are never balanced by the shop.
.
Besides, our gravel forest-roads 'chunk' the daylights out of them.
Significant sections of tread come up missing all the time.
.
For following traffic, our mud-flaps are their friends.
what gave you the blow
out?😂
Had a bubble growing on the sidewall. Bubble popped like a big zit
@@thecumminscamper 😂 for though, glad it didn't cause an accident.

Note to self:
* See tire bubble, swap to spare.
