Many of today's players are copy and paste due to an overload of video footage through technology. Original players can be spotted from miles off. 90s and mid 2000s was the era of the #10s and an abundance of beautifully weighted through balls to open defences. Now teams play a 4-3-3 just to pump balls into the box from wide areas or cut backs. And don't get me started on coaching... so rigid and an overuse on specific tactics. Players are robots. I can't believe as a lifelong fan, and somebody who has coached at a high level in Europe I would say this... but 90 minutes of modern football can be an absolute drag. So much possession with no intent. So safe. When Messi retires it truly will be the end of an entire era.

two completely different styles, Viera's style was better on the eye to most (more technically gifted) but both equally effective in their roles. As much as i hated and still hate Man U. Keane was top class too.
